Watch out! Here comes DC Online!! Who will win? DC Online, Champions Online and dont forget City of Heroes! For now I think DC Online has the upper hand because of the stories and background of the DC Heroes, because lets face it who is more popular? DC or Champions? But in the end I think what will trully count will be the quality of the game!
It's actually very simple to choose here DC Online is being done by SOE. SOE has not developed and maintained a truly successful game on their own, ever. EQ was done by 989 Studios which later became Verant Interactive, the same company that brought SWG. Since EQ went fully SOE they butchered it. SWG's history is much more apparent and been talked about heavily... 3 letters is all it takes, NGE.
Now about the licenses. Champions online is based off of the Champions RPG which was semi popular during the 80's (not sure how much it has grown, or not since then). It would be rather hard to screw something like this up, sure it happens, look at DDO. But on the other hand looking at Warhammer here is an IP that seems to be making a very successul jump from tabletop to mmo. Cryptic Studios seems to have garnered a fair bit of confidence from IP holders as they have gotten probably the 2nd most valuable Sci-fi license out there, Star Trek. SOE has experience with one well known IP, and they, through very hard work, butchered the hell out of that. They also took a flawed game and instead of improving it actually made it far worse than it had ever been at any point in it's past.
To think that SOE would be successful with DC Online is a leap of faith that they truly have not earned in any way shape or form.
My vote goes for DCUO from what I have seen, the ability to freeze someone then pick them up frozen in a block of ice, to throw in to their colleagues is more comic like than anything I ever saw in CoX. My hope is it has some decent twitch combat, and not the tired click and forget power activation.
CoX always felt like a standard MMO with a good costume editor. Being hit half way across a room, unable to move out of the way of projectiles and being hit through walls just got silly after a while. It also had far too many rent a mob minions and not enough actual costumed villain combat. But the icing was the bland mission layouts.
I am trying to stay open minded about CO, but deep down I fear is it will just be CoH2.
sorry im late everyone but man what areyou champion haters talking about ? champions is created by one of the beest mmo superheroe games out there coh/cov so this game rocks dcuo in the ground , it gives us a fresh perspective on super heroes like coh/cov unlike dcuo we all know most of the characters in dcuo and what ther about so thumbs up to co
Personally I could care less about DC. Its just not as good as marvel. Plus if the rumor is true and they are not having a targeting system and its going to be like a FPS. I am going to stay WAY away from it.

being able to group with DC characters would be awesome. That's why I think DCO would be better.
