Why I havent cancelled my account

I am having fun playing WAR.

Maybe its the altaholic in me - I have two toons in their low 20's and a third on the way.

I started with a warrior priest - swapped to a Witch Hunter and am now working on a Swordmaster.

As a casual gamer - 10 hours a week its a slow trip to 40.

I resubscribed for 90 days.

I'm also an alt-oholic and am having a great time with WAR.  I think a lot of people are enjoying WAR, it's just not cool to admit to liking an mmo these days.

I know what you mean. I have about 2characters in the mid 10's and 2 higher level characters. It's important to find the class you enjoy playing before you get to endgame. Planning on rolling a knight come december so it oughta keep me busy for a while.

    WARHAMMER = ALTaholic Gamers DREAM..

With HEAVY METAL patch being introduced very soon, I can't wait to try the Blackguard out, it was the class I wanted to play, the Blackguard is just another ALT to add to my arsenal, but I think I will finish leveling my Chosen which is a 36 and re-roll a Blackguard as my main alt, if there is such I think called, main alt.. lol

    Currently Playing: AO and FE.

I haven't cancelled mine because I forgot to! It's nothing against the game - I enjoy it. I've just been swamped with school... soon to be student teaching.

Most of the cancellation remarks seem to be coming from T3+ players to be honest :)

Not really, it's just not cool to over-hype a crappy game. I mean come on, how many "GREATEST GAME EVA!!1!" threads did we see the first week? The game isn't that good imo, and neither are any of the other mmos coming out "these days"

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

I can honestly say.. I think it would be cool to find an MMO I like these days.

And it's just not cool to dislike a game because others like it - so get it over it Abrahmm. All games have been over-hyped, no doubt, but that does not give you any rights to ditch others who like a game. So how about you just leave it be and play whatever game you like and we'll all play what we like. That leaves all parties happy and not bumping into eachother, cause frankly if you dislike a game I play (and I play lots more than just WAR - I have 5 active MMO subscriptions at any time) I honestly don't care to read about how much you dislike a game every damn day I log on MMORPG.com, much like WoW-fanboi bodypass.

So please - you don't like WAR, so stick to non-WAR forums ok? We don't get in your way and you don't get in our way.

Single char focusser here and I still love the game as well in t4. Bastion Stairs is a lot of fun, loads of RVR in Praag, which is a very nice place to have skirmishes in, t4 scenario's finally popping consistently. Me luvs it.

Things will get even better when most of the launch rollers made it into t4 which is happening about now on our server. There will be more commitment to RVR when most of the players are level 40 and don't have a need for xp anymore. Let the massacre begin!

I honestly think its funny..people were complaining about tier 3 and 4 like, a week after the game came out.

If 90% of the population has not reached tier 4..of course you're not going to like it and you're going to be bored.

Maybe you should have stopped and smelled the roses a bit instead of powergaming to the top where there's no one to play with.

I've taken the slower route, when scenarios and pq's get tedious, organize a keep raid or three, knock on some doors and draw the opponents onto the field, it's a blast.

Don't wanna do that? Go find the hidden Lairs with heroic mobs to fight in them..go find Tome unlocks, go find champ mobs that drop bestial tokens to get trophies..go complete an armor set...

Go do an instance in the capital city. In tier 3? go do gunbad dungeon a couple times. There are plenty of things to do. Granted, the game has it's problems, but most of the people I hear quitting either power leveled to rank 40 and got bored because there's not enough people there yet, or they did scenarios until they got bored, then quit. Get out of the scenarios/power grind and go explore the game some.

I'm in tier 3 now, and have even run in tier 4 rvr with my guild just for kicks. We have a blast. We have days where we outnumber the enemy, and days where they outnumber us. All told, the numbers of rank 40's is close on both sides.

Everyone won't enjoy this game, but lots of people quit for the wrong reasons.

The point is that such blatant and unfounded fanboyism grates with a lot of people. In the months prior to release there were swathes of 'WAR is going to pwn <insert game here>' and 'WAR is going to be the best MMO ever' posts. The same happened with AoC.

Quite frankly, such blind arrogance is extremely annoying and although I do not condone it, I can understand why people like to flame when said game doesn't meet its expectations and the fanboys are left with egg on their face. If everyone was a little more humble (and perhaps cynical?) then there wouldn't be as many flamewars, I'm sure of it.

lol, please... go read around on the forums ,like on the VN right now where there's a thread about that the first 2 tiers were actually the best part of the game.

Also what part of "it *seems* to me" gave you the impression i was stating facts anywhere? Go read around, that's what it *seems* to me, and it should to you as well. The comment was on the cancellation remarks on the forums, it's easy enough to check, just read them and think instead of turn red and start to counter it.

Well we had Markoros  and Darkpony of course and a few dozens more to do the hype. God knows how many alts some created to hype the game. The curious thing was, some don't even show up anymore.

Now - again - MMORPG.COM has  as a result a  mediocre MMORPG with a score of 8.6 something on its pages. Good negative pubicity for the genre I would say.

"Tha greatest game EVA....". Of course not. I am very very happy I gave that much needed counter opinions at that time. I said it would be boring after playing it for 7 days for a lot of players. Now after the dust settles,  who still thinks this is the best MMMORPG?

    No one of course.

Because the only valid rating system is based on long term paid subscriptions. That's the only valid rating system because it is based on money ! Every child can give a 0 on a free website.

woo and bodypass joins the fray... might as well close the topic now - this is one guy you can't convince of anything what so ever.

Anyways - almost a valid post you makes bodypass. I'll give you that - although I'll reply real fast with one thing. Just because no one is screaming "WAR IS THE BEST GAME EVAH" anymore doesn't mean your World of Warcraft is. Far from perfect mind you. And there has been just as many countless posts claiming WoW is the "BEST GAME EVAH!!!" as well as WAR has had.

Time to face it once again bodypass and the rest of you people out there. Your PERSONAL opinion does not make the world change nor does it reflect what the rest of the world feels.

Um, he said success was based on long term subscriptions and cash, wich is an opinion as close to fact as you can get almost and not a bad one really. People can claim a game is the best all they want.. and it *may* even be, for them, but a game's success unfortunately these days also relies on financial succes and that is where WAR will have to prove itself.

MMo's live on longterm subscriptions (succesful ones anyway).

Im lvl 36 been playing for almost 2 Months,  there is a ton of people in T4 now and its  really not fun. Slow chopy combat system that has way to much CC and its pretty much nothing but ranged dps.

Unlike what you may believe though, I never even thought about WAR pwn'ing any other game cause I most likely play that game already as well and wouldn't want that game to die either.

I have never disagreed with people who think that the "WAR will PWN all" shit was annoying. Of course it was - and back then I bitched those people as well - just as I did when people claimed AoC was gonna PWN all. But now the tables have turned and some nutheads feel like it's time to take "revenge" and go "WAR did NOT PWN" posts... and that ticks me off just as much as the other way around.

"My daddy can beat your daddy" syndrome... that's all there is to it.

For the love of god (or whatever you believe in), I just wish everyone would chill down and enjoy their games instead of praying day in and day out that one game or the other will die.

Is it wrong of me to believe in that? Even if I do come out as a "Protector of WAR" - I have just as much defended WoW and AoC, as I have fought it. I always join the side with least idiots.

Indeed you're right Pheace - but it's just funny every time there's a chance to pounce on WAR , bodypass is there instantly.

His opinion however that WoW > WAR isn't valid though since it's only his opinion. Subs overall for both companies don't show either what every MMO player in the world likes. Some play WoW, some play WAR, some play both (including myself) and well. While a game company does run on subs for success, WAR does not need 11mill subs to run the next 5 years. Big kudos to Blizzard. They made a great game - far from the best though as there are still millions of players out there spread out on other MMO's meaning that altho WoW does have the highest amount of Subs they don't have every MMO player in the world playing their game.

I want both games to continue running. Heck I even want AoC to keep running. Not because I want WoW to "die" - but because I as a Gamer want a chance for diversion when I feel like playing something else.

Personally my opinion is still that WAR (when polished completely in some months from now) will offer the best PvP so far. WoW's PvP was fun for a while but latest patch made it a wee bit too aggressive and I'd even say a little unbalanced. Blizzard promises it will even out again at 80 though and I'm hoping they're right.

However I'll say that WoW's PvE content overdo almost all other games atm. They have gotten really good at creating PvE raids (the thing about MMO's I love the most). So there WoW shines mostly, but I still love doing random PvE PQ's and what not in WAR when I feel like it.

So as you can see - it's not that hard to find something in both games you like. You gotta take the best of each game there is and use that as a valid argument for why that game should be allowed a chance to prove it's worth. Each game has something special and I think (and hope) they will all do fine in the future.

Well i Cancelled because the game became to Repetitive without any reward. Example when you play a scenerio once you start Pwning almost every match you level up to a new tier to just get hammered in the next set of scenerios till you reach top teir in that. The quests were boring, only thing this game had which was fun to me that didnt matter how repetitive it was, was PQ's. That was by far the best feature and the only feature i liked about this game. Scenerios were cool till around level 15 when you had to keep doing them over and over and over again. And that after awhile just wasnt fun. This game will have a 200k Sub stable subscribers for a year or so then everyone will leave because they will be moving on to bigger and better things. WAR sounded good on paper but after a month or so you figure out your just playing it because well nothing else out there is worth your time.

Still tons of ORVR on our server.

Destruction tried to cap Praag again today, had their zerg out.  I took our merry warband and captured the southernost objectives.  We then hid out of sight with one scout in front and positioned ourselves in an arc in the surrounding buildings and trees.

Destruction zerg came immediately charged the few people not hiding only to get owned by the arc of firepower we had hidden.  In return we charged out and the scattered destruction were taken aback as we managed to cream a zerg of destruction players who were scattered and taken aback by our ploy.

It was awesome.  Destruction was demoralised after that and resported to defending their only keep left.  We fought in it for a good 40minutes to an hour but in the end whole of Praag had turned from destruction zerg to our hands.
