I have an 8800gt card 3 gigs Ram and I have all kinds of issues. Mounting and dismounting can cause problems like my character floating ih the air or walking through rocks and hillsides.

SCENARIOS: There is a terrible delay when my BW tries to use spells. some spells like my knockback hardly ever work in scenarios. I see other players fighting on their horses even though they have dismounted. I have fallen through walls occasionally. It really feels like a Beta game to me atm.

I've been playing since beta and have had minimal problems with lag and only a few ctd, easily counted on one hand :) Got an amd dual core 5200+, 3gb ram and was running an 8600gt. With this setup it was smooth and lag free for the most part. My card went out and I've since had to resort to my onboard 6150 and believe it or not it is still playable. I'm not into keep seiges or anything yet, but even in scenarios I have little problems. It is a bit laggy but nothing that prevents me from doing well in scenarios most times. I didn't think it'd run it but it does so not everyone is having these problems. I hope they fix the issues some of you are having but some of they may be the player's pc not the client. Good luck

Update your graphics drivers, and all of your problems will be solved.

Unless of course you have a computer that doesn't meet the specs.

Ok, you represent the type of poster that got me banned before for speaking of my problems in WAR. Look, finally has like more than 30 posters come forth telling about all the performance Bullshit they have to put up with in WAR and all you can say  is that our rigs are outdated and graphics drivers screwed. Take a break. These issues need to be talked about!

You don't understand, you update your graphics drivers through Microsoft Update.

This has nothing to do with having an outdated "rig."

You should try it, it solved my lag problems 110%.

Relying on Microsoft Update for the latest graphics drivers, now you really are talking about lag, LOL.

You are correct though, it has nothing to do with having an outdated rig & apart from people that don't know how to keep their system software up to date, it has nothing to do with that either.

It is very common in recently launched games for performance issues to be a bit of a hardware lottery.

The reasons for this are fairly obvious as developers rarely have enough time before launch to allow for all combinations. Mythic even acknowledge this in the text accompanying several user settings. e.g.

"Use this slider to match the memory of your graphics card, but if it doesn't work use the default setting"

"Use this button to enable graphics texture optimisation, but if it doesn't work turn it off"

Neither of the above instructions sound very confident & if the only issues were with outdated drivers then why have Mythic acknowledged the problem & promised a 'Mythical Performance Patch' in December?

If your computer improved after just running Microsoft Update then I am very happy for you, but since most of us run it several times a week,  it isn't exactly a helpful suggestion.

It's a bit like someone with 20/20 vision telling people that need glasses to eat more carrots.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

Unless things have changed since closed beta - launch; when I played it didn't matter what computer I was using (I have access to a few) it was not completely responsive to actions and spells. It was a lot better on launch, but still it felt like there was a little bit of time that you had to wait in between hitting the button to cast the spell or action, and then seeing your character begin to do it.

    Hopefully it's been fixed

There are some performance issues with the client, but it seems to not affect some people at all, or sometimes only occur under specific circumstances. Performance is one of their priorities, however, so expect it to improve if it's an issue for you. I've had days where I could run with 20-30 FPS in a massive zerg, and other days where I've had 8-10 FPS in a relatively small zerg.

Getting the BuffThrottle mod might help you a lot. I also find turning off the grass helps quite a bit. I believe they found a memory leak in connection with shaders recently - not sure if they've implemented the patch live yet, though.

They improved responsiveness a lot just prior to open beta, but it's still not quite there. I'm not sure it's their priority right now, either. Hopefully they'll look at it after the 1.1 patch, if they aren't already.

It is only a suggestion and it would help someone who needs to update their drivers.

Perhaps he run it on a regular basis and perhaps he does not, I might as well say something anyway.

I'm not the only one who had that problem and fixed it in that way, I can assure you of that.

Performance has not improved for many, and many have cancelled.

I've noticed lately in the scenarios that things have been laggy as hell.  It's not a hardware issue - and MSFT isn't going to magically fix the problem with their drivers.  Something seems to have changed and the lag is getting worse.  Not sure why but it makes me want to shy away from the scenarios for awhile until they patch whatever's going on.

I noticed that as well, scenarios were fine for me until the 'Witching Night' patch then they started to lag pretty badly again. I noticed a few other people mention the same thing as well.

They are still fun to play, but when every so often I get thrown into 'Bullet Time', it is hard to see what I am doing. Also teleporting enemy players are much harder to hit.

I really love the game though & plan to play it for quite a while so I hope they sort things out soon.

Connection and lag are my big problems. I enjoy the game but there's not much use in paying a sub for something I can't play when I want. There's too much of a choice out there that do work for me.

i dont have much of a problem in Tier 4, except scenarios. I just cant play scenarios which is the only part of the game where I find players. Whoever said RAM is the problem, I have 4, with a dual core, my PC is not the issue and when I ask players if they are having lag they say they are having lag in the scenario too. I ran AoC way better than this game considering AoC have better graphics. This is unacceptable.

Well I kind of enjoyed WAR, but wandered off to AoC due to not being able to do RvR. AoC at least is supposed to have decent GvG. Just started now and I have to admit I am impressed. Performancewise WAR still have a mile or two to go before it is where AoC is. Mythic, you have to get your shit together or I might not even resubmit.
