Are they telling the truth ? Is level 40 really fun ?

i play a BW, when i was around level 33, i start to get boring, and start reading posts from mmorpg about this game, many complain about the game, and yet, many say its fun, i understand the fun part myself, the fun are only when you are below 25, after that, it's nothing but hardcore grinding, that's why i have so many alts myself, 3 level 20+ and at least 7-8 level 10+, but the weird thing is, many say it's so much fun when you reach 40, i am not 40 yet, but i am 39 now with 4-5 bubble to go, and my RR is already 41, but i didn't really notice anything fun yet, is that really so much fun in level 40s ?

now let me tell you the truth, this game is bored as shit when you reach level 40s, because the grinding does not end there, grinding of renown just begin, and the main problem is not the grinding itself, most games need grinding, even guildwar, which you can create a max level character at game start, also need you to grind for honor, skills and items, the problem is, the reward for grinding, this game have no ladder, no ranking (title like warlord in WOW pre TBC, this game only have something like lieutenant, captain, griffon guard, where everyone with the same race as you will have the same title like yours), no good high level pvp set (when i browse at the high level renown gear merchant, i even find a + ballistic in my BW armor, and all the stat are less then my current level 39 green, but they do give some big bonus like +30 int when having 2 sets, but i still think the different is too small compare to my level 39 GREEN, and it need like lv 70 RR to get it)

after the grinding part, we talk about the ORVR everyone love so much, you know what they do in tier 4 ORVR ? 8pm at night, 2-3 order war band captured all battlefield objective and keep in dragonwake, then its around 9pm, they move to prag, and 2-3 dest war band come and captured all BO and keep in dragonwake, when its 10 pm, the 2-3 order WB should have captured all BO and keep in prag, and the move to thunder mountain, and you are right, the 2-3 dest WB move to prag and captured all the BO and keep. well, if you ask me, ORVR in WAR is more boring then RAID in WOW. i forget something, many said that keep defence is fun, how fun ? as a defender, doing 500 damage to your enemy every 3-4 second with your siege weapon is fun ? and how many people can use the oil siege at the same time ? and most of all, the only fun part in keep siege or defence is killing your enemy with your own skill and weapon, which is exactly the same of what you do in scenario since level 1.

all the above haven't kill me yet, but this one below is, the Public Test Server notes for Game Update 1.0.5, that's all they are going to do to the PVP/RVR for the game ? beside this, i do appreciate their hard work on the class balancing changes, but that alone is not enough  to survive the blow of WOTLK, TCOS and darkfall, but anyway, i still love WAR for its low level fun, i just don't like to tell lies, so i'm gonna be playing alts and hope they can do enough changes to make me stay when my subscription end at mid-december.

Realm vs. Realm

* To promote population balance among the various scenarios, we have added a feature that reduces the number of times a scenario can launch in a short period of time. This will give scenarios which are launched less frequently an opportunity to catch up in the queue population and launch more often.

* Fixed an issue which was causing the Martyr's Square battlefield objective not to issue renown properly.

* Fixed an issue with the postern door of the Ghrond's Sacristy keep which was preventing players from being able to enter the keep through the door.

* A time delay has been added to the preliminary spawns of flags and murderballs in several scenarios. This change was made in order to ensure that both sides have a chance to run to the spawn location of the flag or murderball at the start of the match, and battle for control of the area even before the object has spawned. The affected scenarios include the following:

o Mourkain Temple

o Stone Troll Crossing

o Tor Anroc

o Howling Gorge

o Talabec Dam

o Serpent's Passage

* The interact timer for planting the bomb in the Howling Gorge and Talabec Dam scenarios has been lowered to 2 seconds.

You will have as much or as little fun at level 40 as you are having at level 39,The only difference I seen is that I could enter the level 40 dungeons, not that many people went to them anyway.

Pvp wise there is nothing new at lvl 40 so I wouldnt build your hopes up too much, the odd bit of rvr and scenario grinds, basically the same as every other level.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

The problem is that people even at 40 are still trying to play the game as if it was WoW, rather than trying to get the best Renown and gear from open RvR. Hopefully patch 1.1 should make it even more obvious that open RvR is the place to be.

For what it's worth - if you're level 40 after a month or so of live you're well and truely ahead of the main population.  Despite what others will likely say - I'm fairly certain that on most healthy servers the vast majority of players play more casually than that and are still in the 20s and 30s.

If you don't like the mechanics at 40 (that of scenarios, dungeons and open RvR for zone control) that's one thing - and not likely to improve in your eyes very soon.

If however it's more of a population issue, and these things would be more fun with more people, then it will get better with time - you just need to wait for more people to catch up.

I hit the cancel button for sole reason that there really isnt anything to do at 40. I log on, do serpents passage, take a bo, or if Im lucky, find a bigger group and take a keep. Thats pretty much it. Over the weekend we (order) took praag and then tried to take chaos waste but failed. That was fun but it was still the same ole, take this bo and then take this keep stuff. I loved leveling in this game. It beats any grind of any mmo out there that Ive played but the end game totally stinks.

well, i'm not so sure about dungeons, cause i don't like pve, but when you say rvr and scenario is about the same in every level, its wrong, in low level scenario, you play with the feeling of having fun, in high level scenario, you play with the feeling of working (renown / level grinding)

as for rvr, tier 1 and 2 is abit quite, as many is busy doing scenario, the only good rvr is at tier 3, where everyone start to get boring for the scenario grinding and come out to the rvr lake and have a walk, but for tier 4, war camp are just too far away from keep, and the soloer usually can't get rez if they get blocked and killed by enemy war band before they reach the keep, so they decide not to waste time riding for nothing.

if i'm not guessing wrong, most of those in 20s and 30s not main from casual players, they are alts of those who have hit 40s, but anyway, i will stick  to the game and try creating alts for different servers, just to make sure i don't go back to WOW, at least not before they remove personal rating for high level pvp gear . (i think that will never happen )

ha, no rating on high lvl pvp gear would be great and its pretty much the only reason I would buy wotlk but its not going to happen

Well you may say it is wrong but I am not sure how my own opinion can be wrong,a common mistake made on forums, you asked a question and I answered you with what my feelings were.

The earlier scenario's were maybe fun but that(imo)is because it was something new also you level a bit faster earlier on so dont spend as much time in these scenario's and come the later 1s it is all getting a bit tired out, also all the server's could very well be different but I know that rvr only happens rarely on the server I played on,most of the "rvr" felt like very small pve dungeons with us taking a keep with no desto guys in sight.

Again I will say the fun(or lack off) that you are having at level 39 wont change once you hit 40,this isnt just my opinion it is the way the game is set up.
