It was awesome.  Destruction was demoralised after that and resported to defending their only keep left.  We fought in it for a good 40minutes to an hour but in the end whole of Praag had turned from destruction zerg to our hands.

Now thats how you play when you get to them levels your at.

I think people just burnout to get to T4 and are to pooped to pop.

This game requires alot of dedication (at least I think it does) and alot of people forgot what their main purpose of the game was.

Was it to do Open RvR contiously to level 40, was it to do Scenarios to level 40, did they want to play the game for its PvE content to get to level 40 and do raid dungeons or did they just want to explore the world and do RP to make new friends.

Somewhere people just got lost along the way and head back to what they know is more comfortable for them.

I actually get a burnt out by just RvR but I already knew this coming into WAR from my experiences in DAoC. That's one reason why I like having PvE, exploration, and scenarios to fall back onto as I level up in WAR. That is also why I forked out more ££ and have a concurrent WoW suscription. If I get annoyed or fed up in one game, I log out and go to the other. Both games have things that irritate me, both games have things I love. I'm pretty happy right now especially since I have a great guild in both games! Very lucky indeed.

Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.

Quite frankly, such blind arrogance is extremely annoying and although I do not condone it, I can understand why people like to flame when said game doesn't meet its expectations and the fanboys are left with egg on their face. If everyone was a little more humble (and perhaps cynical?) then there wouldn't be as many flamewars, I'm sure of it.

While I'm not a fan of blind optimism, I see far to many people in these forums with "expectations" these days.   For many  vet MMO players,  one should have the common sense to judge a game by it's own merits and not to a set of marketed "expectations".   Or wait for several months and sift through the feedback, mainly by talking to friends who are fellow gamers and know your playstyle, to see if it would match up with you.

Frankly to me it boils down to:  is the game fun?   am I getting my monies worth - is there functional content?   Does the game run well?

If I get a yes to those three questions then it is a winner to me.   I do agree with some other people I've seen post here, who state that many of the biggest whiners are those who spend far too many hours playing a game.   I play what I consider to be a lot - 20+ hours a week and more.    I see so many posts bashing this game, and it seems pretty unfair to me - WAR has been night and day to my last game, AoC - both of which were supposed to be "PvP" games.   One clearly has delivered to this point, and one clearly was a failure.   I agree there are a number of things that need work in WAR (Bastion Stair loot table for one, RP Master Runes for another!!!).   Yet they seem to be making progress (Server transfers, upcoming Scenario changes).  Time will tell if WAR lasts, but it is disappointing to see so many mouthy people bashing a very fun, PvP-oriented MMO which is hard to find these days to me.

Warhammer is great game and the majority of players enjoy it, as I can tell when get to play the game.

However, on these forums it seems alot of gamers (and alt accounts) spend more time finding new ways to bitch and less time trying to find ways to enjoy the game. Let them dwell on the ideas they are trying to spread, the truth is a good number of people actually play and enjoy Warhammer.

    STOP WHINING!

You speak for the majority of gamers when you get to play the game? You play on all servers?

oooo, you're talking the same crap as the people you're commenting on :p

Variety is the spice of life of so they say. I still can't understand why people feel you need to pledge alligence to one game.

If you've only been playing to level 20 or early 20's then starting again on alts, then I can see why you're still enjoying the game. 1-20 in WAR is fun when the game is new. It will be interesting to see your thoughts once you hit the 30's, especially once the big 1.1 patch goes in. For me personally, I grew disinterested with the game the more I played in the 30's. I'd had enough of scenarios and the crowd control centric PVP that turned out a bit slower than I'd liked. MMO's in the past had to be slow due to technological restraints. That's not an issue any more, the pace can now be upped to real time for MMO's. That's another reason I'm keen to try out DarkFall.

Not really, it's just not cool to over-hype a crappy game. I mean come on, how many "GREATEST GAME EVA!!1!" threads did we see the first week? The game isn't that good imo, and neither are any of the other mmos coming out "these days"

And it's just not cool to dislike a game because others like it - so get it over it Abrahmm. All games have been over-hyped, no doubt, but that does not give you any rights to ditch others who like a game. So how about you just leave it be and play whatever game you like and we'll all play what we like. That leaves all parties happy and not bumping into eachother, cause frankly if you dislike a game I play (and I play lots more than just WAR - I have 5 active MMO subscriptions at any time) I honestly don't care to read about how much you dislike a game every damn day I log on MMORPG.com, much like WoW-fanboi bodypass.

So please - you don't like WAR, so stick to non-WAR forums ok? We don't get in your way and you don't get in our way.

    *cheers*

The point is that such blatant and unfounded fanboyism grates with a lot of people. In the months prior to release there were swathes of 'WAR is going to pwn <insert game here>' and 'WAR is going to be the best MMO ever' posts. The same happened with AoC.

Unfounded hatred grates with a lot people also.  A lot of people just hate for no reason.

Personally, this game is 10 times better then WoW.  Its better then 95% of the games out there right now.

No it is not. It is your opinion, but not a lot of people share your opinion.

Or else it wouldn't have 15 times less western players than Wow.

Subscriptions will be about 250K or less if you view the Xfire stats, while Wow will have 5 M western subs post WotLK.

Compared to the number of Wow players, War is a dwarf right now and it is rapidly becoming the size of a Gnome by New Year. Hopefully it will stop losing players after the WotLK launch or else EA could be pulling the plug.

EA doesn't invest in games at 150 K subs.

Well, I have played on Phoenix Throne, Ostermark, Chaos Wastes, Dark Crag, Kislev, and Vortex. On each server I have atleast one character rank 20 of higher, and a level 40 on Phoenix.

I'm not saying I play on every server and talk to every single player, but I have a pretty damn good idea of what goes on within each of those servers.

Actually, almost every comment does. WAR is in it current shape most fun for casual players and altoholics, it does need a lot more for hardcore players.

On the other hand there are a lot of casual players out there, even though I do hope Mythic add a lot more content to the game fast, even casual players and altos will get stuck in 40 sooner or later and will need a lot more options then.

It is a good game but a bit thin on the content to say the least. To be a great game it will need at least one expansion.

Well with EA they will have LOTS of expansions:

War goes on vacation, War goes Ikea, War goes to the disco, War goes capitols...

Unless they don't stop the subs losses, then it will be War goes ... unplugged.

So let me get this right.  Xfire is the end all be all of online gaming, I don't use it so it doesn't track me being online on either COH or WAR when I play.  Granted WOW is the king of MMO's but I have really been enjoying WAR.  Very fun PVP no one complains when they aren't winning and you get XP and other bonuses for PVP, I thought that would be a draw to other people, in COH I hate pvp.  I have to agree that the Quests are a little dissapointing but the rest more then makes up for it.  I played WOW for about 6 months and that really wanted to make me vomit compared to either COH or WAR.   Just my two cents.

The fact the game slows down at T3 is one reason why I have been taking my time in T1 and T2. It hasn't been hard seeing as the first couple of servers I rolled on have lost most of their population making me reroll for the third time on one of the highest population EU English servers. I am not really looking forward to T3 unless my server has decent oRvR at that level (I haven't checked). Anyway, I think that if T3 has problems and a lot of players give Mythic feedback, they will do something about it. It's not rabid fanboism on my part, it's just from observing how responsive Mythic has been about things, even if they do take babysteps to do it.

Might as well chime in too...

I'm sticking with War for a couple of 40 toons. The overall speed of the game including leveling and actual combat works for me. I simply have fun - and that's really all I'm looking for.
