I'm not planning on buying it for a while as I'm on an extended LoA from WoW, but I'm sure others are...

I'm very excited, mostly cause I was in the beta, and already seen the expansion a bit and liked what I saw. But I must say I'm a bit worried for the upcoming days. I'm not the kind of person to say stuff like OMFG BLIZZ YOU SUCKS ARRGH /spit. I understand running a game such as this is noteasy, specially with a major launch coming up.

But I'm still a bit worried about the current state of most servers since the last major patch. Rise in lag, random disconnects, missing instances servers, etc have been a bit too common. It's normal to have problems with such a major patch, but it's been a month now, and things are improving, but not fast enough.

And now to add to the whole thing, they seem to have messed something up big time on their last maintenance. Servers were offline all day  yesterday only to come back (my realm at least) around 3:00am EST. and surprise, realms are down again this morning. Again I understand they may be trying to fix last minute stuff, but with the expansion out tomorrow, I just don't feel like the servers are ready to receive the massive load of players login in and going to the same 2 starting zones..

Of course, lag, dc and such are to be expected for the next few days, and people who can't understand this should wait before getting the expansion. But I feel like the whole game is just not as eady as it should be. Time will tell...

I'm using the 'delayed gratification' model.  I"m not going to buy Wrath until Dec 1st.   I'm very excited to play it, but  I know gameplay will be bad the first couple weeks because of EVERYONE being in those 2 zones.

Excited for new content = YES

Excited to grind new gear at 80 = NO

I am very excited to see the endless well of nerdrage as blizz gimps throught the next week of lag/instablility and server queues. Its a good thing they make sure that their forums aren't stable enough to survive emergency downtime as well.

I'll try getting it and attempting to play it next week. If yesterday and today are any indication...that might be optimistic. But hey, they say none of these database errors causing the downtime have anything to do with WOTLK. Its just bad timing.

Yeah well I kinda have a hard time believing that. you can be sure that with such a big event for them coming up they are working non-stop at trying to improve everything they can because of Woltk. I mean, everything they did in the past month is all aimed towards Wotlk. The bad timing is because they messed up something in their code, and seems to me it's having a terrible chained effect. It must be hell in blizz offices right now. Wouldn't want to be in a Blizz IT 's shoes right now...

I wasn't all that excited to begin with and now with all the excessive down time I am even less excited.

I'm pretty stoked about it, really. I'm going to get it right away, I'm juts a bit curious on how the other servers are going to run with it, i hope less lag.

Not as much as when The Burning Crusade was released. I look forward to playing WotLK, but I am in no rush. Probably start playing next month though when things settle down in the new expansion.

However, I still remember the day TBC was released and all of us standing in front of the portal, those were good times. This new expansion has alot of hype as well and will probably deliver, but I am not WoW crazed as I once was and dont fall for the HYPE easily anymore.

Never liked WoW but even I am interested in seeing what the expansion brings. Tho I hate they have to add 10 new levels... lame

You don't need to buy Wrath at all. Blizz should give you one Wrath box free, for your efforts in trashing other MMOs and praising WoW, that is you are not a WoW empoyee of course (which I seriously doubt anyways).

Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.

Osbourne Cox: You are part of a league of morons. Oh, yes. You see you're one of the morons I've been fighting my whole life. But guess what. Today, I win.

I wont even open the shrinkwrap on my Collector's edition until all of my items that were lost in the mail debacle have been returned to me.

If my items get lost forever, my accounts will be canceled and the CE will be Ebayed.

I need to get back to LOTRO anyway.

Aero your posts confuse me. One minute you say you like WoW, the next you say it's boring and more of the same.
