WotLK question

mangarmangar Member UncommonPosts: 296

I can not seem to find an answer to this question:

Is this an all in one expansion or will new players need to buy the three available games (or just the base and WotLK)?

Flame as you will so long as you can answer.

  •  You can't get to level 70 without TBC so all three games would be needed.

WotlK requires you to have purchased both Original WoW, and TBC.

From what I understand it also requires SP3 on XP, but I dont know if thats a hard requirement or recommended.

the only package deal at this time is Warcraft Battlechest  (Base and BC)

WOTLK has nothing to offer new players until they are at least 55

The price of the battlechest has dropped to $29 in most places and includes the original game plus BC.  It will probably take a new player at least 2 months to get to level 70 and be ready for WotLK.  There really isn't anything in Wrath that a new player needs. The first expansion (BC) is different though because there are a lot of features in the first expansion that new players would want.

    Thanks for the info.

A bit of a downer, I really like the all in one concept but I guess Bliz has no need to market to noobs.

anyone recall the time it took for the battle chest to hit the market after BC was live?  Long story short my brother really wants me to play but I would prefer a 30$ investment over a $70 and am trying to go as cheep as I can

What about graphic updates, I've " heard " that it updates the textures of WoW & BC as well, is this true or false?
