This kind of news is very disturbing, for the  players and for Blizzard. You would never ever see or hear this kind of news coming from games like EQ, hell no!!, Just proves how downgraded games are now a days. I dont care if these guys are world #1 or not, the material that Blizzard put out is not worth the money, like i said before, its the same content as the original WoW. Thx for these guys for proving that this expansion is not worth it.

Well I'm not a power leveler myself and play casually. So it will probably take me a couple months to go from level 70 to 80 or about 4 months for a death knight to max out.

And what exactly does it have to do with us who doesn't have (nor want to) 68 hours to spend straight for nothing but braindead rushing?

Seriously by rushing you miss out so much, this news ain't a strike to anyone, who cares if someone had like 40 liters of energy drinks around and planned out every single place to be to level?

Players who take their time and enjoy the ride will be level 80, at a decent pace where they won't feel it took too long, nor too short.

For every normal mmorpg player the ride will take between 1 to 4 weeks, to get there, and it never stopped there either.

so no, not disturbing nor anything, go back to your cave, or enhoy the game, though i suspect you aren't even playing it ?

So you have not played WoW:WOTLK yet feel your entitled to pass judgment on it because you read some place some 1 decided to bypass the quests, dungeons and content and just grind mobs for 64 hours to be the first to 80.

What you read is the exception and not the rule, I Have played abour 10-12 hours id say since thursday and I only dinged 70 today, doing the odd dungeon run and plently of questing (got my 1500 quest achievemnt too).

Are you aware that most single player games offer a good deal less than that for the same price?  I remember reading somewhere most developers aim for about 40 hours to complete the storyline.  Newer games I'm seeing even less than that... my roommate and I wrapped Gears of War 2 in about 15 hours.  to me, this suggests that even if the level grind to 80 was the only thing offered by WotLK it'd still be worth it.  Of course that doesn't take into account the new dungeons and raids, Death Knights, new skills learned post-70, PvP, etc.  You don't hear about this sorta thing from EQ maybe because nobody cares enough, or maybe the people that play it are smart enough to take the time to enjoy the content.

Yeah, you gotta love this stupid kind of post.  First of all, not posting from your OWN experience, secondly, posting an extremist's view that isn't even your own, because you, yourself, haven't experienced ANYthing related to said topic.  Pfffft.

Someone who made it to 80 already, DEFINITELY rushed with nothing more in mind that to just "ding 80" period.  They did not READ one quest, they did not level any professions, run any raids, and it's highly unlikely they ran any dungeons.  That has got to be the most IDIOTIC way to judge a game EVER.

I have six level 70s, I play for 4-6 hours a day, 10 on weekends, and I don't have ONE level 71 yet.  I did, however, make a deathknight that has gained 3 levels, and began (BEGAN, I said) leveling all of my professions and skills.  I have lvl 375 crafters of almost every profession, so as you can imagine, this might all take more than a couple of days.

Sure, if you just take one level 70 and grind like a lunatic, with nothing in mind but to ding 80, you might be able to do it in 68 hours of NON STOP play, BUT....how much fun is that really going to be?  Funny thing is.....the people who are doing this are the VERY ONES who bitch about "grinding" and yet....they are CHOOSING to make the game a grind.

WTF ever happened to the ROLEPLAYING aspect of MMOs??  It's not MEANT to be an idiot solo-player grinding their way through levels mindlessly.  You have to actually MAKE it that.  So the people that are pissin' and whinin' about it that DO that, should just STFU already about it, since they are CHOOSING to play like morons.

If you have a whole guild helping you out and not much life, off course you can get to 80 that fast.

On the other hand, if you make it take a long time like in Linage 2, you loses all casual players since they never ever got to max level. If you really want a challenge and wan't leveling up to take long time, go play L2.

Blizzard are aiming for the big mass of players and therefore they are doing right by releasing this amount of content and time to level. Also you have to count that they would have a hard time of getting new players if it took forever from 1-80.

Wow is kinda for games what pop music is for music, it is easy to listen to and popular. If you don't like it try something hardcore instead. Just don't expect Brittney Spears to start playing Black metal or Wow to turn into a hardcore game, I am not saying Wow is bad but it is aiming for the huge masses. Hardcore players should go to L2 or DF...

Blizzard knows what it's audience wants.

I would say 68 hours to "complete" WotLK is actually worth the purchase, especially if you do it within the first free month and unsubscribe right away.
Most non-MMO games out there have like 10-20 hours of game worth for 50-70 bucks.

Now I understand that this is still disappointing but that's the problem of theme park MMOs: aside from the PvE content made by the _devs_, there's nothing much to do.

Wait for the wave of sandbox MMOs that is incoming. Player-driven games don't have that problem.

He, or as the matter is, they didn't just level their toons to 80, they took down the lich king aswell. That is, the topend raid in the game, in 3 bloody days. What's that telling you about the endgame-content in WotLK?

Realize that, what you mean in what players want is actually what "western" players want.

Games developed by Asians are imitating Asian's traditional gaming style.  Long levels, so whoever works the hardest will be stronger in levels, have better skills, and have more to show from their hardwork.  Yes, that means not every Dick and Harry will be able to get to max level with little effort.  (Or should I say every Chan and Lee?)

Also, traditional Asian MMORPG events that involve alot of players usually does not require max level to be reached in order to participate.  It is only once they are exposed to western style of gaming that Asians are exposed to the idea of  "end game" content.  Basically, the "end game" content for traditional Asian games does not require max level to be reached.

Asians traditionally did not really have as much needs to kill other players single handedly out of pure ego, if we can't do it by ourselves, we team up with others and combine our strength.  (Do not confuse this as teaming up and just use each other)  Asian gamers that likes an ego trip put in enough time into the game to prove their strength.  There are no traditional Asian MMORPG that a player can simply sit around all day and somehow end up with all the equipments they need.  A character's strength is equal to the player's commitment to the game.  Of course, as the international MMO industry starting merge, the Asian developed MMORPG style start to change dramatically to fit the international market.

The Asian MMORPG that are released in the last 5 years, are actually not even traditional Asian MMORPG anymore, but watered down version in various aspect, and will continue to do so as long as the western player base demand shorter grinding.  This is actually a change in progress, however, most players are just too impatient to even see the change, or just have no knowledge of traditional Asian MMORPG to begin with.

Your problem?  Nothing.  As a human being you are perfectly fine being only able to look at the world through your own eyes.  Empathy is not exactly something everyone are born with.

If you are just a WoW fanboi, howvever, I have just wasted all that time typing when I could have been doing something more constructive.  At least someone might read this and learn something.

This is how idiotic rumors spread. You heard from someone else who heard yet from another person... etc. etc. And each of you added something from yourself to the rumor. GG

They did't kill Lich King, he isn't even in game yet (as a Raid boss). All they did was clear first _entry_ level raid instance for WotLK.

And while we are at it, why would it bother me or any _normal_ player? They are sponsored to play games hardcore. They had months of preparations on beta servers, they had months of preparations (gearing, stacking consumables etc) on live server. And all this just so they can do it asap, world first.

Honestly before average player even sees this instance Blizzard will probably release another one in next content patch.

So stop repeating false rumors, stop jumping bandwagon of hysteria and think for yourself.
