Just started looking at this game and watched the game trailer the other, just from that i can say its looks so interesting.

Currently im playing war but i feel its just wow, but with changes here and there.

Looking at some videos and threads about this game it looks to be a bit like oblivion, with the skill system (using swords to increase blade skill etc) also the way you can become famous or infamous throughout the community.

Any else relate it to being a bit like oblivion? meh mite not be but seems similar in the type of gameplay and i loved that game :)

Keep your eyes open, the next few weeks should be interesting.  You might as well sign up for the beta, but first make  a forum account , and then cross your fingers.        http://forums.darkfallonline.com/announcement.php?f=29&a=26

It is described as being a cross between Oblivion, UO, and Mount & Blade.

There are some decent info threads on this forum, but if you want a lot of info check out the official forums.

HA! somehow i search for the feeling

that if i survived the +boar* battle, that i

at least didnt die ... i mean i had respect to any encounter

but i also know with a hardcore enviroment

you wont make much money in this business

So in the end you may see fixes like vanguard had to do.. and i tell you  Vanguard if done on one server like EVE would be the game in the fanatasy mmorpg genre

And the developers are described as a cross somewhere between Christ, and a dimwit.

It's honestly like everyone logs onto WoW, and games like WoW, just to masturbate. Everyone plays by themselves, and when they don't, they get what they want and get off.

Started playing mmorpg's in 1996 and have been hooked ever since. It began with Kingdom of Drakkar, Ultima Online, Everquest, DAoC, WoW...

Problem with the official forums, there are a lot of inherently wrong statements about the game floating around them.  Hard to separate the wind from the chaff.

Best bet is to wait and see what the game is when it goes into beta or release.   No one truely knows what the game is as no one has played and reported on it.

Im not 100% sure on this, but i think the description Imbant is refering to came from a developer in a devjournal.  Or maybe a combination of dev comments that described how certain gameplay mechanics are based on the past games listed.

Same thing with this site. Best bet is to go on Warcry and iGN and read the dev journals and sneek peeks, keeping in mind the date for each one. Then read the FAQs. The feature page on the main site is way outdated, so you can probably ignore most of it.
