Its only like a week away and we can pre-order. If havnt seen any advertisement. The devs are saying anything, and I'm getting the feeling they seem to forget about us........
It is launching on November 27th for NA also right?
Comments
I was wondering the same thing. Any of you beta testers know if the game is still on track?
I would be shocked out of my boots if his game launched on the 27th in a reasonable state.
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not.
It will be launched in an unfinished state just like 90% of all MMO's.
RIP TCoS......
I would bank on the game being complete and pretty polished for an indie developed game. (judgeing by what ive seen and heard) However the way they have handeled their NDA and how much information they have released would leave me to belive they really dont want anyone to hype or play their game.
Acclaim the US/UK publisher doesn't even have a website up for the game.
I hope its going to be a very good game and have honestly not seen anything that would lead me to belive otherwise. Realisticly there is no way the launch is going to be anything but an underpopulated train wreck (arguably the best kind of train wreck)
On the brightside I belive the unlimited free trial and no upfront box purchase will help them succeed in the long run. Nothing to the degree of wow but possibly to the eve level.
It seems to be releasing in time, I am not in the beta but follows the official forum:

I think the testers deserve a round of applause for not Squealing and spewing all the goodies.
Whoa that is one sexy cover box.
While I personally do not like the closed mouth style of TCoS or Darkfall, from a business standpoint I really like it. Having been in BETA for AoC and WAR, I think they ar playing it smart; both AoC and WAR made huge promises about what they would have in game and to some extent they did not deliver. Look at the player base for both of these games and I believe they are both substantially lower than anticipated due to the way they ran BETA. So while I wish they were more open, think about the buzz that we all have when discussing these 2 games. Heck, even the trolls can't stop talking about them
Playing - WAR
Anticipating - TCoS & Darkfall
Played - EQ1, EQ2, WoW, CoH/CoV, PotBS, Vanguard, LoTRO
Confirmed MMO junkie
If you are in the mood to do some translating, the following press release has the info you seek (there is still the question of NA release):
tcos.com/de/news,id82,goldmeldung_zwei_box_varianten_abo_details_pre_order_gestartet.html
For those interested in the short, English, version:
The game has gone gold, you can pre-order now, and max level free to play is 7.
Even Amazon - the master of pre-orders well in advance of release - don't have TCoS listed. Weird.
Seems no one NA side has it or pre-order, wonder if maybe it is downloadable, hopefully it will be released 11/27...I have a 4 day weekend
I have looked all over n cannot find it listed at any gamestores for pre-order or any kinda orderin NA. It is hardly even listed anywere as a game to be released. Think d/l will only be from Acclaim website?
Guys you have to relax a bit,The game is going to be free to download unless you want the collectors edtion and that you will have to buy but that will come with 3 months of free playtime.
I cant say if the game will release on time or indeed what state it is at at the moment,I am just a tester
The reason you dont see so much advertising is the fact you wont HAVE to buy the game so there is no need for that,I am sure the will show the game a bit more come release time but for this game you wont have to pre-order etc.
Almost here guys.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Relax, what is this relax you speak of
As a self professed MMO Junkie I must have more than WAR, and I have tried most every other one...TCoS just looks so fun

Just trying to put to bed about the pre-orders etc,the game will be free to d/l and the trial area so no need to go surfing the net for game stores that sell it,you wont find them unless you want the CE copy of the game, trust me mate as maybe a few posters will tell you I am looking forward to this game also

NA release has been set back to January, bummer, but atleast we now know.
Its not just the NA release that has been moved back. Acclaim is the publisher for North America, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and South America. I have to say I did not see this comming /sarcasm
It sounds like if they released at the end of the month the game would of failed miserably, so it is good they are pushing back the release to fix the game.
To be honest though they should of handled the run up to announcing this better than keeping everyone in the dark for the last couple of weeks, a simple post saying we will be ready when its ready would be reasuring and imply they probably wouldnt of met their date and they are commited to releasing a polished game.
They aren't pushing back the release because the game isn't ready. If that was the case Frogster would push back the EU release as well.
Acclaim signed on too late and still need more time to ensure the servers they'll use are acceptable.
I may be wrong but as far as I know, TCOS is not launchiong the 27 in North America. It start closed beta testing for north america this day and will launch for Europe this same day. NA will have their launch sometime in january.
