Can someone tell me why WoW would be a good long term game? this isnt a bash im just deciding whether to play WoW or EQ2. Im sick of switching games and race/classes, so could someone tell me a few things that Wow can give for years to come?

New updates almost every month, alot more quests then in any other game, they say it will take some time to get to 60 when game gors to retail, if you get to lvl 60 you can be a hero class, you can win more and more honor in pvp, choose between lots of guilds, the more honor you get the more rank you get, the more rank you get the better places you are allowed in to, INSTANCES, raids, other hardcore gamers , nice graphics, a really neat world, battlefields, using siege weapons to destroy towns, take over city's, you can have statues raised of you if you have lot's of honor in one place of the world say you have done all quests there are in a town that is fairly big,...... The list just goes on and on but if you really wanna know then sign up for the OB

I played EQ2 I got in to beta. All I can say is, HORRIBLE, the game is nothing more then hack'n'slash and take this letter or bag with shit to this person. And the graphics aren't really that great. Everything looks plastic and boring. Also I hope you have atleast a 2.8 ghz or a 3000+ or better and 1 gig ram with a geforce 5990 ultra or radeon 9800 or better if you want any good graphics out of the game.

play 'em both, see what you like. I think it's funny how SOE just released that you can ride "griffins" just like you've been able to fly "Gryphons" in WoW for months, even the warcraft series since Warcraft 2!
EDIT Sorry couldn't resist the swipe at EQ2
It all depends on what Blizzard do after release ofcourse, but WoW have a good stry line that they can base several expansions and updates on, also have PvP and they are trying to do something with it too, even if you don't like PvP now (I don't know if you do or not) it's good to have there for later.
It's ofcourse also good that they will have a big player base, so won't run out of money for sure.

Just because you just heard about it doesn't mean they just got the idea.
And in all honesty.. if you are looking for a game that will last you a year plus, I would go with EQ2.
I'm think I'm going with WoW because I'm kind of planning on going to DnL when it releases, so I only need a game that will last me ~6 months. If it lasts more, great.. but with the grind as fast as it is(and I don't think it will be made slower) I don't think it will last for a year+.

Way to troll there...
Eh, I'm just going to play em both, but after Stress testing WoW and watching my brother beta EQ2, the graphic thing made me amused the most. Everywhere I look I see EQ2 fans bashing the "cartoony" WoW graphics, why don't they notice that the EQ2 graphics are pretty much dead and static as hell..?
Aside from that, WoW does offer more fun gameplay - atleast my brother's opinion was that when he decided that his Human Pally in WoW was more important that trying to get a Pally in EQ2 going...
Opinion wise - who cares
Fact wise - whichever makes ya happier

That SOE has griffins doens't suprise me much since they had em already in EQ1 I think..

hi, i did the stress test and was very happy with WOW. only thing i see that i dislike about it is only being able to learn a few skills for crafting on an avatar as i prefer crafting to the fighting and pvp. so for me when they said they where limiting the number of skills per avatar i sort of started losing interest in the game. i guess i might play it until D&DO, Vanguard or maybe even Wish come out.
Games Played:DoAC, EQ, CoH, Lineage 2, Planetside, and Shadowbane.
Games Playing:None:(
Waiting For:WoW, EQII
I would have to disagree on the WoW vs EQ2 quests :P WoW quests are pretty much repetitive IMO, ist always kill x of x and come back o wait i have something else for you to kill kill x of x then kill king x and recieve z then bring z to y and bring the new z from y to me. EQ2 i found had many different types of Quests. Dont take this as an insult. not here to bash just stating that WoW has better features but not its quests :P (Although i like the idea that in WoW more quests you can pick your reward, eq2 only has a few of those)
Typed this before i slept and didnt want to read through all the posts also this will make a v good long term game ebcause around level 60 ish it is rumored you can be come a different type of class according toy our race/class or whatever and become something like a priestess of the moon etc. it isnt released nor is it known to be true unless blizzard has posted it
Desolation
"Stare at the Sun im bored..."
Desolation
"Stare at the Sun im bored..."
Right about the WoW quests for sure.
"Kill 6 Small Kobolds" "now Kill 6 Large Kobolds" "waait a minute, Kill 5 small Kobolds the 11 Large Kobolds." "Oh, and go back and kill 3 Large Kobolds, and 1 King Kobold" Repeat for most of every kind of monster
I think I will just play WoW until I can buy a new system for EQ2. From what I have read they both seem like awesome games, each has its + and -'s, but over all I think EQ2 will be a good game for me, but I will have to try them both before I can judge them.
