Feel like no MMO's are interesting these days?

I dont know about you guys, but for the past few weeks I have just been on this site posting. Everytime I turn on my computer I wanna play a game, but when I look at the games I have and what I've tried, I cant put myself into playing them for some reason. I've been reading tons of books, worked overtime at my job just to keep myself busy, watched movies with my GF to kill time.

Why o why cant I find a good game to play? I'm just really waiting to try out darkfall and if all else fails I will look forward to playing Diablo 3 in battle.net when it comes out.

Sometimes I ask myself, should I just get a second job or go back to school? So much time to play a game but none of em interesting.

A good game takes 3 years to finishing it and with fortune like Windows and Gates.

It is not possible to be done by any company. Most games of today were assmebled like computers.  All parts came from different makers and the AI is CPU. With 80286 CPU allowed the weapon to use from very begining to the end or least for 1/3 of the game. But you can buy scroll from item shop to upgrade your weapon or armors continues to use for few months.

The other P2P? Each department designed what they liked so the game became a patch game in the end.

Describe what type of game you're looking for and I can suggest some that might interest you.

I played UO (8 years), EQ (7 years), DAoC (4 months), AC (2 months), AC2 (1 month), EQ2 (1 year), VG (1 1/2 year), WAR (1 month), AoC (3 days), FF 11 (2 years), L2 (1 year), RF Online (1 month), Rohan (2 months), Arch Lord (1 week), DnL (1 day), Silk Road (1 month), EvE (2 months), WoW (2 years), Tabula Rasa (1 month), Earth n Beyond (2 months), and much more free to play games.

Only game I'd be interested in right now is Darkfall and Diablo 3.

Yes I'm a game freak, I played multiple games at a time.

Every time I feel like this which is quite often,I simply re subscribe to my first mmorpg. I don't know how your experience was but for me my first mmorpg FFXI was a very emotional, heart warming experience that I will never forget, and I hold very close. Even though I have played much better games, When I feel like there is nothing out there for me, when I feel like no mmorpg now days are doing it, resubscribe to FFXI never fails for me. Sure its not a great awesome new way to spend afternoons, but its always a enjoyable game no matter what forr me its like a safe bet.

My advice, try going back to your first mmorpg, or whatever mmorpg you think is special and great.

Sounds like a a good idea.  My only problem is that my favorite two favorite MMOs are only shells of what they used to be (UO and SWG).

I do go back to City of Heroes/Villains every so often to check out their updates.  I wish they hadn't created such a niche game.  They really have the basic elements down to a science in that game, but the problem is that almost everything is basic.

Are you mad!! Evil befalls all who speak that name!!!! The mmo whose name shall not be spoken, has warped many a heroes mind. Using  witch craft and trickery, it seduces the unwary with  frequent but crappy updates and low monthly fees. Once every few years, the creators of this mmo loose their minds.  In this dark period, many game breaking changes are made. Oathbreaker! They took wilderness from us, burn them all!

Try non mmos.  Maybe L4D or Fallout 3, when I felt like you did I picked up age of empire for a change of pace.  You could try Atlantica it is different, turn base team combat.  Or maybe you are just in a funk that needs time to work out.  I've been there and done that.

    Darkfall

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

The graphics aren't the problem. Playing on a small screen (in your browser!), extremely-slow-paced gameplay, bad controls (my opinion might have changed now, I've had even worse), and the eternal grind. Especially the grind...

True.... but that doesnt make the graphics an less crappy

It's almost 2010, and I am just not wiling to tolerate clunky graphics while being told that "gameplay is more important than graphics". That excuse won't wash with me any more. I expect my games to have both good graphics and good gameplay.

I am right there with you man. I crave an MMO but all the ones on the market now seem to be a let down. Now, personally i blame WOW for this (I AM NOT SAYING IT SUCKS) i think that WoW has done so well that most developers instead of trying to break the mold and be innovative just fail and crack and just try to get as close to WOW but being slightly different. ATM i am hoping that Darkfall can deliver and if the devs can have a decently smooth launch(i know launchs can be troublesome) with the content or at least all the things they've been talking about then Darkfall will likely be my next MMO.

A few others that seem cool but i don't know how innovative they will be are: Stargate Worlds, Jumpgate Evolution, and Global Agenda.

i get the same feeling.  i end up quickly loading up a game (Vangaurd, LOTRO, or Steam) and quickly getting ingame where i am more likely to do something than sit staring at my wallpaper trying to decide what to play.  works quite well...

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Hmm, that's a start. Just need to have way less grind and better safety (which is hardly possible as a browser-game), and I might try it again. :)
