Is WAR shutting down ??????
Ok i went out half an hour ago to buy WAR, i came back and now its installing, but from all the hate i read on these forums its like WAR is either shut down or about to any minute, im so concerned with what ive read on here i sent mythic an email about 2 minutes ago.

No, WAR is not shutting down, not even close right now. I imagine WAR will be around for at least 3 years from today...maybe even longer
mmorpg is not a good place to read about games, it's mostly hate or fanbois you dont really get just the honest truth, you tend to get one extreme or the other. A decent WAR community with much better message boards when it come's to asking actual questions is warhammer alliance. http://www.warhammeralliance.com/
I'm pretty damn sure WAR isn't shutting down, for one PC Gamer just did a massive magazine over the game, also I just got a newsletter email from them talking about the new classes coming in, so its definatly not shutting down.

The support in Europe is so bad, that only the currently fully populated servers seem able to survive. That's more or less the case with WAR, unless I'm missing something.
Mythic have invested far to much in WAR to close it down, things are not that grim, at least not for now.
Still, chose a good server to play at.
Mythic can still turn the game around, the half million players Motormouth Barnett talked about is maybe not something I would bet on, but the game will go even at 250K players and anything over that is good.
Just relax, they will only kill it if EA decide that it ain't selling enough, like they did to SIMS online.
First things first, Never EVER! listen to the riff raff on these forums EVER!!!
These guys go out of there way to make a game seem as shitty as possible to sway players away.
Some even make it a job (Viral marketers).
WAR is a good mmo, try it out play it through Your first 30 days and sub if you like it.
Don't ever take forum reviews seriously, If anything take magazine and official game reviews seriously and war has mostly been rated in the low 90s.

WAR is one of the the best mmos atm and nowwhere close to shut down.

There is only fun and boring.
Nope no rumours just was paranoid from all the haters on these forums lol
And there I was, thinking that everybody would have understood by now that reading this forums is informative rather then in any way indicative of the state of any partiular game.
WAR has some issues, but the main problem around here is:
a) people who are bored and just bash games for the fun of it (or similar), many of which never played past lvl 20 or rushed so quickly through the game that they had no one to play with...
b) people who expected WAR to be something different than what it turned out to be - instead of moving on, they hang around and let everyone know how disappointed they are (gets old really quickly tho, and no one really cares)
c) people who can't distinguish between their own opinions and cold hard facts and generally lack the ability to have a civilized discussion and respect other peoples opinion
Anyhow, I am pretty sure that WAR is doing reasonably well. Not WOW-well, but enogh-people-to-play-with well.
I myself have no active subscription any longer - mostly because the people I played with have moved to another game and WAR defenitly requires a nice group of people to play with in order to be really enjoyable.
Hope you'll like it, tho.

Its fact that MMOs are released before they are compleated and polsished compleatly last years, and even WAR one of the best launches last years is not exception and suffer from some problems after t2.
Even I stoped palying it already even subscribed I think it have great potential and will become great game one day. Also as I see even playerbase was droped there are still plenty enought that are satisfied from it. I just think that Mythic have to merge servers to save as much as possible from the low populated server players.
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

This pretty much tells you all you need to know about the objectivity and reliability of many posters on this site. That particular poster has been badmouthing WAR at every possible opportunity since July, before WAR's release.
Let me quote once more for emphasis:

Have you been building your impression of WAR based on his posts? You might because he's been presenting himself as an authority on WAR - no qualms whatsoever about camping WAR's forums since before the release.
I really appeal to all browsers on this site NOT to use posts here to judge a game. Go to metacritics.com and look for more objective user info on less well known sites. This one is waay too exposed to avoid attracting all kinds of "agents", whatever their allegiance and motivation is.
Dont listen to alot of the naysayers that swarm this and many other game forums. Play the game yourself and see if you like it. You are the best judge if you like the game or not.

GOA might be running WAR into the ground atm here in the EU!
But Mythic seems to be doing pretty good in the US. So in the worst case WAR dies out in Europe early next year, but keeps nicely going in US!

Yeah it seems that Mythic have washed their hands of WAR in the EU and are allowing GOA to do as they please, ie ruin the game, we all know that with out players you cant do PVP, WAR is a PVP game and GOA had promised to maintain the same level of service for the EU as Mythic do for the US.
But have more or less failed inan epic way, free server transfers are a month late already and people are leaving the game every day out of frustration.
It is really annoying, as you wait so long for a dcent game in this genre and then it gets ruined by bad management
by a third party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the games doing pretty badly especially in the EU, though I doubt it's doing anywhere near badly enough to warrant shuting it down.
As others have said try the game yourself to see if you like it or not.
For the people who like 'simplistic' straightfoward linear pvp.. its perfect. So it'll be around for a good while.
(not simplistic in game play, simplistic in what sort of tactics and strategy you can use)
