So is it worth coming back to WAR yet?
My biggest problem with the game, and the reason I left was I got tired of queueing (sp?) for scenarios over and over again at warcamps. The empty RvR/PQ zones, and zero interest from most of the population base for PVE quests and dungeons. Not to mention a serious lack of dungeons. Yes WoW ruined me on that, I loved dungeon running with a group of friends.
I'm reading through updates and patch notes every day hoping something will change, something will bring that spark back.
I want to come back, I really do. I just don't want to be bored and dissapointed again.
And yes to the flamers, I went back to WoW, but it just doesn't feel right anymore. If it wasn't for personal friends who play, I wouldn't bother to log on. I want WAR

Dont bother, more people are leaving and servers are still shrinking, still buggy and still boring. No sense in trying to put time into another AoC or vanguard
I'd wait til december when they release the blackguard and Blazing knights back into the game along with other fixes.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.
Playing EVE Online and AOC.
Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD
wouldnt the game need to be out like 6 or so months before making post like this? lol
there hasnt been enough dramatic change yet since you left cause the game hasnt even been out that long.
try around Feb
Blackguard looks pretty crazy. They are like an ironbreaker with a healing debuff and a nasty stun. Death on tank treads.
I'd wait. Mythic's efforts to adjust the game are bizarre IMO. I understood what was the deal in AoC, maybe did not agree with some things and thought they were very shady.
Mythic is just nuts. Plain and simple.
Agree with Krayzjoel here..
No sense joining at the current state, unless you are willing to help keep the money coming in while they are working on it. (Some people like to say they were there at the beginning through thick/thin) They are still missing classes (which no one knows how they will turn out yet) and other fixes.
Dec or Jan '09 will be a better judge for how they plan to fix things and which direction they are taking the game. It literally can go two ways.. scenario nerfing to get more people out in into the advertised "open" RvR to fill up the dead space that haunts the game on most servers (which would tick off over half the population as they seem to like it so far) or do nothing much about that and just add classes and mini-manage.
If they have not turned a corner by January presenting a clear strategy this time on what they want this game to be or remain a themepark, there will be other new MMOs releasing in '09 that you can take a chance on.

I would say: Wait 6 months from launch or so.
You'll know they are getting the game as it should when they are starting to patch in those 4 citys that they put on hold a month before launch.
Very irritating that MJ and Barnett complained on AoC for releasing to early and do the same bloody thing. This game is good but incomplete right now, it should still be in beta.
2 months to patch all that stuff in, you are sure an optimist
Lol, me? I don't think theyll figure out the "Scenario Mystery" in two months. Scrap or nerf them down: lose what base you have. Leave them alone and boost the ORvR content? Won't affect the casuals and still won't have enough for the mass battles (most people will still be short on time and hit the Scenarios probably.. real life does call).
One suggestion that made a world of sense I've seen bandied around is the idea of dedicated ORvR servers WITHOUT scenarios for the hardcore PvPer. Will they look at that? Dunno, I don't know HOW they think but that makes a lot of sense to me.
If you can have a server thats Kill On Sight, why can't you have a servers thats really "War all the time" not some here, some there, some waiting for it to happen.
2 months? I don't think theyll fix this particular problem in 2 years. But I would never tell someone don't play this, its crap, except for any Asian cashshop grinders.
I am highly critical of WAR, but only cause I actually played it and I get ticked when companies hype their stuff over/over with millions of P.R. money with no balance to counter it. This is far from rosy. These are not "small" problems the faithful talk about.
These people cannot fix and figure out a KEY component to their own game that they made. How to make Open Realm Vs Realm work reliably when other parts of their game counter it.
Once in a while 100 man fights are not enough to whet my appetite.
