Why are ppl finishing 25 mans in less than 2 weeks from release ?
Simple... lvl 70 raiding gear is better than the lvling gear you got from rushing through the lvling prosess. There is no need for Heroic runs... You just use the lvl 70 gear to get the best lvl 25 man gear.... and... then you can pretty much 3 man heroics....
Now... It should have been the other way around. Hardcores should have been running heroics 50 times before beeing able to even go for 10 mans. Then you simply lower the price of the honor gear (in terms of badges) for the late comers to balance the game out....
I see WOTLK beeing the biggest failure of Expansion ever created. The closest thing would have been SWG but thats not even close to the mess BLizzard has now done. It wil take 2-3 months to sink in ... but then ppl reaslie how bad it really is...

I love it how WoW is so gear-dependant. 95% of the game is based on gear, 5% other factors (i.e. skill).
That's what makes all those people play this game, grindfest for gear.

Ted Treffon: I don't represent Hardbodies.
Osbourne Cox: I know very well what you represent. You represent the idiocy of today.
Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.
Osbourne Cox: You are part of a league of morons. Oh, yes. You see you're one of the morons I've been fighting my whole life. But guess what. Today, I win.
I love how people who hate wow arbitrarily make up statistics 78% of the time and accuse any game they dont like of being a grindfest 69% of the time.
At this point its not grindfest for the ppl that already did ANY raiding before. They just use the lvl 70 items and can skip the heroics. The real grindfest is for those that DID NOT raid in TBC. They will have to go Heroics before doing 10 or 25 mans. Thats the big mistake.
Lets look at this logically. The folks racing through WOTLK have probably had 70s for quite awhile and have geared up greatly. The gear they are wearing is probably equal to level 80 greens.
Also, they have been raiding and playing their toons for quite awhile and chomping at the bit for something new to do.
Those who come through without years of level 70 raiding and PVP will not be so well geared and will progress through WOTLK at a normal pace.
That being said, I am loving the quest chains in WOTLK and am taking my time.

Oh someone is playing with numbers to look original. I see what you did there.

If we were on a forum where logic dictated the ebb and flow of conversation, this thread would not have been posted. I'm guessing the OP hasn't even seen a 25 man instance yet.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
If WoW wasn't based on gear then people could complete raids and do PvP with all grey items equipped without any problems.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
That's so true, whether we are talking the original gold box NwN, UO, EQ, magic gear and the strive to acquire it has always played an important role in MMO's. +1 longswords, Mace of Vanquishing, whatever the case may be... I seriously doubt you'll find any gamer, including the poster complaining about gear based games, wearing only grey or white store bought armor or weapons on a 100% of the time basis. We might see people try now that this comment has been made, but it just doesn't happen.
Don't really care. I just wish they would give me a long and epic quest line to get lost in. I don't need raid gear as I don't like raiding and never have in WoW in 4 years I have yet to meet one raiding community in wow that i did not treat it like a second job. So give me my small group content or even solo quest chain to occupy my time. Does not have to equal raid gear but should look different to show I'm a explorerer/quester rather than raider.
I just spent a couple months getting to 70th... i arrived at the blessed level the day after WotLK launched. To be honest, I was already getting burnt out with all the GRINDING and didn't want to get the expansion, but a friend convinced me too anyways. If you think this is one of those "and the expansion changed my whole attitude about the game" kind of posts, you're wrong.
Maybe because you've been doing daily quests and raids for the last two years you don't realize it, but this is just the same crap from the same old game. The only difference is that they changed the zones a bit... in fact I was running through an area and someone reminded me, this looks just like RFC... and you know they were right.
The expansion might be great for you, but for someone who was actually looking forward to some of that end game content, I found i had the equivalent of 30 more levels to go before I could enjoy it, so I opted to count my losses and not get sucked into... faction grinding... gear grinding... money for mount grinding... oh wait... I meant questing and exploring, because WoW doesn't have grinding... I keep forgetting.
I want to say "WoW sucks!" But the fact is it doesn't. It's not an overly good game, there are a lot of games out there that are better, but it's appealing to the 12 year olds and others who just want to log in and feel like they've done something in their life.
Thankfully, rather than being that moron that ended up on Dr. Phil, I'm going to go do something else more productive with my time rather than grind... err... adventuring.
If you're reading this, you probably need to get some sun.
