Yes you play as a single player on a team. Not the full team like Fifa. More like Pro mode in fifa. The really cool thing is, all the other players on your team are controlled by other live players.

I would like to know what the game is like out of the game. Are they going to make it really immersive and let players walk around a city and purchase new gear from the sports store and own their own pad and upgrade their house etc? Or is the game 100% match only with a static screen out of game? Has a lot of potential and would be interesting especially if there were skill trees that let you create a certain type of player like goalkeeper etc. Thing is I think they will miss a trick if they dont give players an outlet to spend all their football wages
Outside of the actually playing for a football team there is the lifestyle side of the game. You earn money and can game fame for every match you play. All the clubs are based in two cities and with your money you can go into the world and visit clothing stores, clubs, etc. You can also do press interviews which helps increase your fame. Your fame level helps determine what establishments you can get into as well as the amount of money earned. There really is quite a bit of depth and it isn't just a game where you log on and all you can do is play football. There definitely is a social side. You can also with certain subscriptions create and run your own football club. This is really a basic overview but the official website has a lot more information.
wow that sounds quite interesting. I find specialist games like this are amazing for 1-2 months then you end up getting bored because there is nothing else to do. PotBS comes to mind. So if they had some fun elements outside and where you can flaunt your wealth that would be fun. e.g. car, clothes, even have your face on a magazine cover, be something for players to strive for.
