I still have the beta client and email for beta, heh. I do miss Andrew James and Binky for sure. I wonder what happened to them. I remeber Andrew stating he was still in school and possibly applying for a job with cryptic. I know he has an account here still but hasnt posted in almost a year. The game wasn't that bad considering the last few MMO's I have purchased. It just needed about 4-6 more months of proper testing which it was getting. Sadly, the game is now most likely sitting on a bunch of disks inside some cardboard box gethering dust in a crumy garage. Oh well, life goes on.
On a side note, I did enjoy the combat system. I liked how mobs could destroy you and had fatality like moves.
I was in the beta and it was at times a fun game,it was for sure a great idea.
There were just to many bugs and at times felt like it was still in Alpha testing than beta,a real shame.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"
What appealed to me mainly about the game were the combat animations. They just looked so appealing. Thought I'd at least have to give it a try...
Though, after playing the beta, I was pretty unimpressed. It seemed extremely linear, a total rehash of everything out there, except for the heroes... Which also was like Guild Wars anyway... Nothing really hooked me

I loved those features too! It spiced up the combat.
A sad story in truth, and i hear you i was ready to give it a try as well
Haha, what a waste of development time, they should distribute copies of the product as is to any 3rd party who wants to make private servers.
I must admit I was curious about the game as well or maybe it was just that halfnaked girl doing commercial for them at that years E3.....
I was interested in this as well though I think the beta reports weren't very positive anyway if I recall.

I think about it sometimes. I was in beta too, and sadly it felt a bit to much like World of Warcraft in Rome with 500% more bugs and glitches.
I remember reading the beta testers diarys on their website, man they praised the game, they must have been bribed big time
'Peace Is A Lie, There's Only Passion'
never played it
