This is My Last & Final Hope - After This, I Quit MMORPG Gaming

I did not even buy WAR because I knew.  Oh, I knew.  After a week, no depth - and there would be a lot of PvE repetition, and I am not a PvPer.  Edit:  I have not bought an MMORPG, though I have tried them all, since Vanguard.  I am convinced I am a wiser MMORPG-consumer now than ever, and I am convinced that the quality, depth, and creativity of MMORPGs are on an accelerating decline.  Money concerns.  Developers constrained from experiementing with innovative features.  And much more problems.

I need, demand, and buy world immersion.  Customization.  Unique worlds.  Unique characters, NPCs and player characters.  The ability to travel not only to a different town and traverse a dangerous forest, but traverse different dimensions.  World ... a world that is complex, yet coherent.  A sophisticated world composed of unique characters, creatures, and complex and challenging content.  I want to be fascinated again, like the first time I saw Star Wars or Blade Runner or Lord of the Rings.

I do not play games;

I experience worlds; and

Develop a unique character. - and have fun doing it!

MMORPGs, and the direction it is going, is as good as dead for me.  I am not crying in my soup.  I did that a very, very long time.  Here, I am saying, look, after this, I am done.  MMORPGs need to return to the Ultima Online, Everquest, and SWG worlds.

I am not paying YOU 15+ a month -not even 1 dollar a month- to PvP and do linear content.  In fact, I think single-player games have more immersion features than MMORPGs.

I'm sorry, but I think it is about 90% certain that your last hope will fail and I can write a good-bye post to you here and now.

Looking at all info released and all Developer comments given, you will NOT get a World Simulator in this game. Instead, it will be a story-driven, class-based, PvE/PvP game, with a high emphasis on PvE most likely.

I believe there is actually a quote where a BioWare dev says that they do not make "World Simulators".

    Sorry.

You should check out Darkfall Online.

Build cities, Craft, farm as in grow herbs and stuff, gather resources, yes you would have pvp, explore a handcrafted world, own a house, build it brick by brick.

You also might be interested in Roma Victor.

this game isnt goign to have what you want. this game will be story driven, and class based, and bioware doesnt do world simulators, (which is where mmos have gone wrong). I think you want a game like darkfall.

While I don't completely agree with the OP, I agree with the fact that MMO genre has become stale. While this game is not my last hope. I am done with MMOs untill this game comes out.  I doubt this game will be all the OP wants, I think it will be more along the lines of the original KoToR.

To the OP..cheer up. Tho most of the '09 releases don't appeal to ya, I am sure in the next few years we will see some newer innovative games.

A good honest answer looks like this folks: Honestly we have no idea what all this game will have to offer yet. Stay tuned for more details soon.

Darkfall won't help. The OP has said they aren't into PvP and DFO allows for PvP pretty much everywhere from the last I read.

Nope. MMOs are fine. WOTLK is 100x bettern than UO, EQ or SWG. It actually has compelling CONTENT. And i highly doubt the market would miss you.

The genre has been dead for quite some time already. I wouldn't hold your breath for Wow Wars either.....
