A huge horror movie fan and I love all kinds of horrors. I do prefer the thoughful deep movies like Jacobs Ladder and Session 9 over plotless slashers, but depending on the mood, plotless slashers can also be great entertainment.

Only just got to Jacobs Ladder and it was great. Session 9 just rocks.
Zombie films are really just a foil for exposing human character in the face of desperation. This can make a great character film. Or can be total crap, but fun none the less.
Two favorites that need a mention, "Alien" and "The Thing"
im a scaredycat when it comes to horror movies. hotel626 already scares me s**tless.
well, anyway im still a fan of horror movies.. particularly those ones from japan though most of the time i watch them on mute, a lot of them still scare me. there's the cello and lots more.
i do like horror films specially the asian ones. you should watch the suicide club. its a good but weird one. its really cool. all the bloodshed and everything else which are violent! hahaha! gore!!!

Session 9 was a very different, but fantastic movie. Really liked how the development of the person on the tapes reflected the development of the main guy(long time ago so I can't remember the names)
Jacobs Ladder is just plain awesome... especially when you get what it actually was all about.
And yeah I love how Romeros movies always have a social message behind them. They are always about the characters, which usually reflect society in some way.
The Thing = My favorite horror movie of all time. Alien is also way high up there
I started becoming a bit of a horror movie fanatic until I realized most of the new stuff was either Japanese Knock-Off crap or Torture-Heavy Snuff Films.
I still enjoy them though, I just do my research first.
by the way guys, what can you say about the hollywood versions of the good japanese horror films? i think they didn't give justice to any of it. they just ruined the "scariness" of the movies such as the ring and juon. this is just my personal opinion.

Asian horrors movie are usually very good(specially thai), and for some reason every american remake suck balls. Yes, even the ring. Slick visuals and all, but it just wasn't scary. No shocks, nor any suspense to speak of.

Same thing here, the most scary type of movie that I watch is a Hitchcock movie.
These modern horror movies just gives me nightmares and thats no fun at all.
I might watch Mirrors with my girlfriend though.... she loves those types of movies.
And she loves getting me frightened for some reason.
film The ring is quite old from now, now they shoot some new ,, wow ! those school girls themed horror movie are especially scare me much. jps always do that about doctors.. schools.. kinda sick~
yeah! japanese horror is still better! actually, the whole of asian horror is kinda better because they preserve the authenticity of the "fear factor" due to the absence of uber special effects which really helped. sorry to disapprove shinyaqian but i really don't like the hollywood versions. i think their original hollywood horrors are the better ones.
yes, i think they have their own advantages,, for hollywood, i like SAW series ,,, more impact on visual stimulation . And for japanese film or asian films , more is on mentality!
i dont like horror movies, they're scary i dont know why... hahaha i dont like watching them because after i watch there i cant go anywhere alone because i cant stop thinking of f*cking scary thoughts.. hahaha
I really dont like much horrors, because a lot of them don't simulate the minds of people in certain situations. I do like movies like Resident Evil though. I like movies where they fight to survive. I don't like the running, the screaming and the crying and twisted fates, just because defending yourself is the least important thing to do. I watched the Grudge 2, I didn't think it was a scary movie at all, but people say it's the first one that is scary.

Love horror films with a good plot, like 28 days/weeks later, amongst others.

Not really into horror movies myself. But I think I will go see this one. LINK
I like SAW because it is sick and twisted.
I don't generally like horrow movies, if you're talking about Saw, Hostel, Chainsaw Masscres, and stuff like that.
I do like Vampire movies, and Zombie movies, like 30 days of Night, and Resident Evil. Or maybe I just like girls with guns.
