Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

The funny thing about people ...

is that most of them are retarded.

People will say "omg! WAR fanboi better watch out, he will flame you." then it happens because anyone who likes something will want to defend it and what happens? They get flamed back but no one says "omg! WoW/DF/whatever game fanboi! GTFO!"

People will complain that they want a new game and that they are sick of WoW, yet they will go back to playing it which gives Blizzard a reason not to change anything. Good going! I love your thinking!

People expect new games to be as good as older and more established games. This goes with anything in comparison to WoW. Instead of waiting 4 years and actually play the new games to see them actually evolve let's just sit and say "This sucks, change it."

People will bash games to living hell and then say "I would consider going back if they ..." then why are you trying to tell people how much it sucks if you would consider playing it again? You think telling random people your problems will fix it? Did creating MMOs become therapy?

People will say "This game is exactly like WoW" then later say "This games PvE sucks, it's nothing but quests and killing stuff" Hmm ... sounds exactly like WoW to me. These are they same people that fit #2.

People will complain that they didn't get what they were promised when they bought the collector's edition of a game before even playing it. So, it's the game companies fault for you wasting money on a game you never played ... I love it!!

I could come up with more but I don't feel like thinking. Let the flames begin!!

I blame the Internet and the anonymous-ity it gives, not only can people say and speak how they like, but they can say one thing and do a totally different thing. It all comes down to your own integerity as a human being and how structured your moral firbre is, lol sounds corny but it is true, some people cannot just lie to themselves whereas others dont blink twice and are basically hypocrites.

As you point out there must be 1000s of hypocrites that come on here and bash the living daylights out of WoW and yet go and but the expansion and play it.

WoW fanbois screaming idiocy is something that will never change. It's strange that people can be so insecure about their "favourite game" when something really good, like WAR, shows up and they feel it somehow "threathens" their experience. "Oh no, the people playing WAR are having more fun than me! Better go troll their boards!"

Note that this isn't really anything new in gaming history. People do this with all games, not just MMOs. WoW however does have a particularly sad community where this hilarious behaviour runs more rampant than usual. Though what can you expect from people who find the rather childish spam of pop-culture references ("omg hehehehehe its mulder from xfiles in wow that so cool lol") funny and faint when they see Arthas (if you haven't seen him, imagine a low-level Chosen with horribly stretched armour textures).

It's a forum for opinion. That means critical reviews of games. The only difference is that some reviews are rants or illogical and others express more reasonable objections.

I returned to wow (after a 2 yr break) and EVE after wanting war to be ace. Why? War was empty and dull (for me on Euro servers)...by empty I mean EMPTY of other players (bar the odd straggler) outwith scenarios - I mean dead, like in Day of the Dead except minus the zombies. Honestly, I've never played such a dead game before. So I scenario'd and bloody hell, but the same craptastic, small, simplistic, zergish scenario over and over got dull VERY fast. I preferred AOC to War because at least there was a degree of activity. War was scenarios or ghost towns and I changed servers 3 times because some fools kept saying it was my bad server choice that was ruining the game for me. Later, I noticed that almost all euro servers were low-low....only one med-med, so how do you like them apples.

Did I imagine this? Was it a dream? No, this was the single greatest disappointment of any mmorpg I have ever played. Maybe the game is awesome T4 and the game sucks prior to that - if this is so then this game will fail as the point is to have meaningful content throughout the game.

I hope that war is really successful in the USA as I like the War franchise. However, in europe my impression is of a game  in terminal decline - at least as far as I saw it. Btw, I did sub beyond the free month and I didn't play beta.

    Regards

    Melmoth

is that most of them are retarded.

If most of them are retarded, statiscally speaking, wouldn't that give you a pretty good chance of being in the short yellow bus group as well?

I think you miss the reason WoW fanboys troll the WAR forums. It's because they're sick of the WAR fanboys forever bleating on about how lame WoW is and how WAR is superior. As soon as WAR hit and didn't live up to the astronomical hype, the WoW fanboys pounced. What goes around comes around I'm afraid.

Exactly this.  It's amazing how many people will say " We never said warhammer will be the wow-killer" after the fact.

Every game is perfect before it is launched.... then it becomes AOC and Warhammer.

Um... duh? I don't know why people keep saying this like they're surprised. If a game is not as good as or better than the game I am playing now, I have ZERO reason to want to play it. It's that simple. I frankly don't care if the game is "new and shiny" if it's still a crappy game. Why should I pay to play a game that is clearly not finished? That's not the way the system works.

One thing a lot of poeople overlook is that most "wow fans" complaining here are really just dissapointed Warhammer players.

So, lets say you go out for dinner and order a burger. It comes and you eat it and you think to your self damn that was a good burger. A week or month or year later you return for one of those great burgers, you order, it comes and it tastes like crap nothing about it is as good as the last one. You call over the waitress she says,  "oh" the normal cook is not here tonight and that is a good burger you have, if you think its bad that is just your opinion, youll just have to settle for it, but if you want what you think is a good burger come back in a couple weeks and the other cook will be here. Would you tell your friends about this resteraunt, would it be in your top ten. Is this acceptable service in your mind? Is it not fair to compare burgers, should we have to eat the crappy burger with the hope that in a few weeks they will be good burgers? What do you think?

Nice responces to my little flamer topic. The things I say from what I saw anyway.

If most of them are retarded, statiscally speaking, wouldn't that give you a pretty good chance of being in the short yellow bus group as well?

Never claimed I wasn't and never will because we all say something stupid on the internet one time or another. This was mainly suppose to be a joke topic based on real feelings I have towords WoW vs WAR argument.

Exactly this. It's amazing how many people will say " We never said warhammer will be the wow-killer" after the fact.

I was in war beta and I did see people say that, and I hated that people said that since I knew this situation was highly possible. Let it be the start to the WoW version of "the funny thing about people".

Um...

Because MMOs never come out fully finished and polished. All MMOs take time to develop since a lot of the greatness of them comes from the playerbase, if there is no establish playerbase to help the game be good it wont be good. A weird thing is that if more people had T4 characters, the game would be a lot more fun but they are too lazy to get that far or actually go out and RvR.

One thing a lot of poeople overlook is that most "wow fans" complaining here are really just dissapointed Warhammer players.

The problem I am having is that even though this was suppose to be a funny topic, people would get the real out of me. Anyone who has played a lot of MMOs knows is that no MMO will be as good as your first and a lot of people WoW was there first. Another issue is that people are already established in WoW and don't want to go back to having to relevel a character in another game. They don't have all the areas memorized and know where to go in quests and it takes time and they get bored unlike in WoW that have already leveled a few characters and can do it with there eyes shut. This is going to happen with any new MMO and I hope people see through this like I did cause I am sure this is an issue with some not all mind you but some even if they don't want to admit it.

Is it not fair to compare burgers, should we have to eat the crappy burger with the hope that in a few weeks they will be good burgers? What do you think?

I love this one, kind of puts it in a more realistic purspective but there are a few flaws. By this would mean to assume that I think that the 2nd burger is bad as in WAR is bad. I don't feel that way I feel is though the 2nd burger cook is giving me the wrong toppings on the same good burger. Like Mayo, but then thats not to say that the first cook isn't trying to throw mayo into his version of the burger. The burger is still good by both chefs is just I don't like the mayo, so changing the toppings on the burger would make it a better burger and thus be recommended to friends. That's what I think.

Commentary from those who lost their virginity to WOW.

WOW is a good game now, depending on tastes, but every game has the same woes upon launch.  How quickly people forget, or weren't around for it.

To the OP: most people who say they are sick of WoW are just playing it too much. For the record, I gave Wrath a good try, found it to be just more of the same with different window dressing, and quit (after giving Blizzard another $40, thank you very much!). But for most people, WoW really is their ideal game, and they're not being honest when they say they want some different. The vast majority of current MMO players are just interested in one thing: collecting digital loot. And WoW has the most comprehensive and well-conceived digital loot aquisition system in the business. When one of my friends completes some epic grind that gives them a new mount - which is nothing more than a cosmetic change to their existing mount - they practically squeal with delight. A yet I could care less, since everywhere I look there are a half-dozen other players with that exact same mount. Until of course they will grind out a replacement for as soon as Blizzard dangles another one in front of them. That's why I'm done with WoW, and why most of them will never quit. So my advice to WoW players looking for another game is this: take a break, play some non-MMO games for a while, and then stick with WoW. If you guys are having fun with WoW, great, who am I to tell you not to? So don't try to tell me not to have fun with my games, OK?

If anyone ever said this was gonna be a WOW killer there just as diluted as the WOW fan base that comes here ranting about how crappy this game is.

In a perfect world people would just stop the dumb threads about it sucking and how great it is and just discuss the actual game. Oh well, not a perfect world.

But I enjoy this game. I did enjoy WOW. To me though, WAR is better cause its newer, new classes, skills items, character looks. So yeah, its like a diffrent version of WOW that I can lvl in by killing other players *drools* my god I love this game

    Enjoy : )

I who hoped that you were going to make a little speech about how many PvP-retards there are playing WAR... Also: this is a forum, it was made for endless amounts of whining.
