Mythic finally admits to faulty RVR system !

For weeks ppl have been reporting issues and for weeks Mythic kept quiet that the major feature of the entire game was broken.  But finally they had to admit to it when there were over 1000 diffrent siege events reporting it.

The WAR community has expressed concern with overall performance and server stability in Tier 4, particularly during large-scale fortress sieges. We want you to know that we’re listening and dedicated to resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Our Production team has been working hard to resolve this with both server-side fixes to resolve any crashing issues, as well as client-side fixes to improve frame rate and other graphic-related issues that can occur during large battles.

RvR is a core element to Warhammer Online, and we are committed to making it an enjoyable and exciting experience for all of our players. Our ultimate goal is to have our players focused on fighting their opponents and experiencing the thrill of RvR the way it should be. Thank you for your continued support and patience while we work to resolve these issues. We’ll keep you updated on our progress.

at least their addresing the issue and trying to fix it. i went on almost a month hiatus from the game starting in the beginning of november till last night cuz i wanted to take a break and try some other games and when i patched it last night, WOW it ran so much smoother and less clunky. seems that someone is doing their job at mythic

OK, you make it sound like they commited murder or some thing. But Yes, Mythic is listening to the community and already have a plan in place to do what the players are asking for and reporting.

It's a well known thing and it's not like they've been lying or whatever...

Lol, the first major patch is supposed to adress those very same issues and it's been announced like weeks ago. If they said "everything's fine with RvR, working as intended - here's a bunch of new instanced 6 and 12-man dungeons for the awesome first big patch" (sounds familiar?) THEN I'd be worried or angry or whatever.

I don't think Mythics silence can be interpreted as some great conspiracy, they were taking their time to capture the data and work on resolving the problem.

No reason for hysterics, they are addressing the issue in a timely manner.  Not everything requires the developer to fall on their sword.

This part of it was not true actually. From his followup posts in the ORvR post he made it's clear he wasn't aware of the Fortress lag/crash Issue in T4 at all. He did respond to it quickly though which is nice, it's just a tad frustrating for the people who had been posting about it for weeks already.

Will this address lag from Warbands and other groups in RvR areas where lag is a major problem?  It's not just Tier 4, it's any large groups or PvP encounters that lag happens.

Personally, my FPS drops to maybe 3-4 when I enter keeps... regardless of how many other players are around. Most people do not report this problem. Weirdness, I know.

On the other hand, I'm quite fine with large numbers of players in the same zone but it gets weird in certain particular situations/locations. it seems that generally the closed beta client could handle much more people than what is the case right now. Some more weirdness...

The other night we got a huge fight in open RvR with literary hundreds of people running around, killing each other etc and all things considering my game was quite playable - oh when I got pulled by that damn Rift my client dropped to 1 fps but that's natural considering I was dead in less than a second with all "the red and the angry" on my screen. However when that same number of players moved to the fortress the server itself got all funny with all kinds of rubbery weirdness - similar to TBC opening night - seems the server's processing power got overloaded. The point is that it shouldn't have since the same number of players were doing just fine in a zone right next to it. Weirdness.... quite normal for a fresh new mmo if you ask me.

Everything can be interpreted as a conspiracy, you just have to be creative enough to come up with it.

So, they come up with concepts to fix, put them to internal testing, find issues, try again, find issues, try again... see, there are reasons they dont tell you everytihng thats going on internally.

Remember AoC telling customers that a new pvp system was in the works, should be on the next patch.... and then it was pushed back, and pushed back, and pushed back..... hell is it even in the game yet??????

Mythic does not want to get your hopes up until they actually have something.  Once they have that "something" then they will say they are addressing the issues people are complaining about, and that's exactly what they did.

Mythic has shown time and time again they are willing to listen to their customers and work their tails off to address issues/concerns/problems with the game and to add content.

So far they have merged low pop servers, patched the client for various bug and system issues, and are adding new content, classes and fixes to the ORVR.

How you perceive this to be a negative says alot about how lame you are.

hmm its good to see that mythic are willing to fix up there errors. i might have to give war another shot seeming as darkfall will never be released.

For this level of honesty and commitment to their playerbase, and taking action towards making this game better, Mythic should be commended, not insulted.

What would really be the point of admitting that without having to tell us that a fix is upcoming soon? They would just lose players if they admitted it earlier, now they can do it and tell us what is wrong and that they are releasing a fix for it soon.

The game will still need a lot more content but it seems like they are getting somewhere now.

Mythic was the same way with DAoC and it is one of the reasons I played WAR, good bad or indifferent they keep you informed unlike most MMO makers. No game releases in a perfect state but the game is fun for me so I'll continue to play until that changes.

Stop whining and login so I can kill you!

It boggles the mind how a developer can set out to make a RVR game and end up with the main mechanic and selling point of the game  weak and poory thought out. Maybe if they spent less time looking over their shoulder at WOW and how to make the Blizzard formula even more streamlined they might of ended up with a game that's even have as decent as their DAOC effort.

Mythic, is not honest about issues. They keep trying to ride this "ohh yeaahh we are the good guys with the best customer service" - wave which is just plain out idiotic at this point. I have played WAR for 2 months and I did so in times when population was way higher than now. RvR was dead back then and I am sure it is now. I saw this trend very early, and I reported on this only to get shot by fanbois. Hence I am a guest over at FC's now. AoC is aledgedly having less players than WAR, but I don't know anymore, maybe it's the game design, but I certainly feel much more in a MMO in AoC than in WAR.

True, tho at some point ppl are so bored of games, the idea of devs jumping into swords is the only entertainment one can hope for. ;) Not that this is the case with WAR yet. Nor hopefully ever, but I can understand sometimes this is the case. When you watch Americal Idol and its EU couterparts you realize we didnt *really* evolve since the Colosseum had "Christians to the Lions" on schedule. Most enjoy the failure of games more than games themselves. And tbh, sometimes I too have evil dreams of what happend to the Dark and Light devs and to Brad McQuaid....

It was about time. I was wondering for how long they were going to keep going on about that flawless launch BS.

LOL The AOC  fanboy says Mythic is not honest. Check the register date and notice how it corresponds with the influx of Vm and "AOC 10/10 " over the top fanboys that come in and blow up AOC while at the same time coming here and knocking WAR.

There is no comparrison between the two. While WAR may have issues ( I am fortunate because I am ina good guild/populated server and can choose what activity I want to do that particular day) it has far more potential and was leaps and bounds as far as being a "finished" product at release. Once more people reach max level and the RVR is adjusted people will come back and enjoy WAR. Many people feel that AOC's troubles go the very core of the game design, most notably all of the instancing.

Then of course theres AOC's handling of everything from CS to volunteer forum mods that managed to piss off even those that may have stayed with the game.
