Another weekend with lots of fun and AoC play has gone by. I got close to 2000 PvP XP playing today in minigames on my PvE server. lol. For anyone not familiar with how things works in AoC, this is a very healthy sign. Anyway, this post is not about that. I just wanted to highlight something I have noticed since I started posting here. Every monday morning a wild herd of Trolls show up in this forum to start trolling FC and AoC like there is no tomorrow (notice morning here, not exactly like MMOers..lol). Past friday noon, trolling comes more or less to an hault and we MMOers and AoC players can again talk about the game. lol, it's odd, 5 days of the week is for trolling and BS while 2 days are for actual gametalk. I would love to see MMORPG do something about this. Imagine we had 3 or 4 days of actual gametalk. I think we all know that this is pretty wishfull thinking, but anyways there it is.
Monday trolls, it's just a few hours till the sun in up, the scene is yours again. Flame on. See you MMOers next weekend.

No matter how well intentioned this post may seem, it Is not inherently about AoC, but rather specific people/groups of people chosen to be the target of said post.
People are welcome to discuss any view they choose as long as it remains within the RoC on these forums, no matter how we like or disagree with those posts. The best cure for trolls is the absence of participation; but that is the one thing people have the most difficult challenge with.
And that's the crux of it really. Do we take issue with severe or lax moderation that comes as a result of having the least amount of restraint ourselves? The original post is a clear example of this, as you'd see that you're a willing participant in creating the very trend that you take issue with.
However eloquent or noble our intent, we cannot ask for anything better than the enviroment we ourselves create with our own vitriol, agenda, lack of respect, lack of restraint and apathy towards the sharing of ideas and real discussion.
If we take issue with someone on the boards, our choices are simple:
I'll be the first to set the example in this thread by doing exactly those 4 steps.
Dude.. You realize this post is just a troll magnet? Ok maybe your right maybe your wrong but how about keeping on topic about the game and not the trolls.
Both of you are probably right. I can't however comprehend that the majority of the trolls seem to follow a working week postingpattern? Why arent the trolls trolling always. If they truly play MMOs, they would certainly also do so in the weekends and therefore be in front of their PC and this very forum like myself. Some of these guys spew out like +50 posts pr day, but when the weekend hits..... Full silence as in a office after working hours. Mark my words, we'll see it again in a few hours (for 5 days straight if I am right). My post is perhaps a trollmagnet, but more importantly, I think it will help us understand more of the dynamics behind the hardcore trolling on the AoC forum as well as other forums.
Instead of wishing the current moderators, who are voulenteers, would do something about the problem you see how about you apply to become one? Employment Opportunities

A work in progress: (Update: 08/09/10)Easily find your favorite type of MMO
People are sitting tired and bored at their jobs, off course all games get more negative posts monday morning.
Few people are their best mood then. Still no reason to troll any game off course.
Maybe they wait the weekend out for some good ol` Monday news on FC's new MMO, The Secret World (Dark days are coming!), just to be let down by no news at all
Then rage at FC through AoC forums ! ... Just a theory :P
