Alantica has been released? Has anyone played it? Is it any good? Looks like your typical Asian MMO.

Typical Asian MMOs have a turn-based strategy battle system where you control a party of characters (4-9) against groups of enemies? I need to start playing more Asian MMOs!
Seriously though, the game exceeded my expectations for a F2P MMO. If you have any interest in the old-school turn-based RPG games, give it a try. You may get hooked like I did.
super addictive far 2 much depth and strategy to go over in a post Ill just simply say Try it.
The art style is pretty typical, but it's actually quite original, and a pretty decent game for a while anyway.
Combat reminds me a lot of the old SNES game (and later PSX) Ogre Battle. Except you keep fighting until one side is dead, and you get to choose who you attack. Best part of the game.
I quit it though because crafting was too complicated and time consuming. (I didn't get very far, though).

Yep i played it , can be addictive but many things that you do in game like crafting for example is useless. Seems like a paradise for the people who can go on killing and killing and just use the market to buy stuff. I will not say a asian grindfest but i would surely say many things in this game is useless to devote your time to. Max level strategy is killing endless monsters in the quest driven story line and hence a grindfest spiced up with the new battle system known as strategic battle system but then again the strategy do not quite work in player versus player or in free league which is dictated again by levels.

LOL. Killing endless monsters? When you play Devil May Cry and God of War(these are also examples), you also kill monsters as you go along the game, and it is fun. And crafting is useless? You can be rich(inside the game) because of crafting and you can save money because of crafting. Yeah it is strategic because I defeated a level 56 when I am still in level 41, because of pure strategy, and someone defeated me when he was still in level 30+ because of his great strategy. In is not dictated by levels, as long as you have a good game plan, everything is possible.

There is truth to a few things in here. Though as off late and after a few patches, i would say the game improved a lot. For strategy there a lot of new things i have learned. The random spells being cast during PvP can be canceled. Even if you are at a lower level and fighting a much higher level than you, you can still give a good fight and may win simply because of strategy not just armor cause for sure the one in a higher level may have better equips than you therefore you go for points. I have observed a lot of this happening because the higher level slacks off. ^^ This game has started but i'd say it is a new feel that is worth trying out. I started playing this game with doubts which you can check by looking at my posts here and ended up enjoying the game. Since it has been released, then we should expect more available support and more cases being solved by GMs and devs. For the quests, it is not all grinding i would say compared to the grinding fest you do in other games. ^^ There is a mix of player views on this game. I can see you have a powerful PC with a good connection i believe, so why not try it out? i know people who try P2Ps and end up frustrated, well this ones free so you'll mloose nothing. Give it til level 30 or 40, you just don't know, this might be a good game for you. ^^

atlantica online is not only about killing and killing monster, you set your strategy and there's a lot more to do, yeah most of the time you kill monsters but there are other things you can do, try it and see for your self.. i like the turn-based system of fighting, you can fight in different ways, do combos and use a strategic formation..

I agree... there are so much features to explore so dont judge the game if you only play it for hours because you will appreciate the game if you fully understand the feautres and you know ho to use it...

yeah it is free to play forever, the only expenses you have is when you plan to purchase from the item mall but all are free... yup it is asian but the setting is came from the diffferent civilation around the world.. just try it bro...
