Never even heard of this game?

How did this game all of a sudden spike up to the 2nd best rated game in a day? Could someone tell me about this game and the pros and cons to it?

You must not visit this site much. It has been in full release for about a month now, but it got a lot of attention two months ago as well. I suggest going HERE and reading.

I tried it. Gods know how it got those ratings.

Let us see: The combat is turn based, like Final fantasy and Suikoden but simpler and on time.

The graphics are quite ugly and uninspired.

The quest are boring and the same junk we seen in a zillion other games.

While I do think you can make turned based combat fun, they failed it. The original Neverwinter nights (Not Biowares, made from the guys with Pools of radiance and Death knights of krynn, SSG or something) had a fun turn based combat system a long time ago.

I tried this and Runes of magic, RoM aced it in every aspect. And didn't really notice many proc except that it is free, not a clone of Wow/Eq and that it doesn't seems to lagg.

Since it is free you should try it out anyways, just don't have your hopes up.

@Loke666: Wow, glad to see another Neverwinter (AOL) vet around on the internet!

SSI (Strategic Simulations, Inc) was the company that brought us Pools of Radiance and the "gold box" games... very good stuff.

I remember racking up $113 one month playing Neverwinter on AOL... yeah, they used to charge by the HOUR... ouch!

I was going to say something about Atlantica... but, I forget.

The contents of this post do not necessarily reflect the views of MMORPG.com and its management.

LOL I couldnt disagree more......Simple? Ugly graphics? Quests same as in a zillion other games?? Im not even sure we are playing the same game......You sure you arent thinking of LoTRO??......The only weakness of the game that I have seen is that it isnt a WoW clone and there are alot of people that cant handle that.....You hear alot of people call every new game a "wow clone" but when something comes out that is nothing like WOW then they dont like that it is different......

Atlantica is far from simple....Yes if you play to level 3 it is simple, this is what I am guessing this other poster did........You have to control 9 different characters in combat (5 go per turn but you still ahve to maneuver between them alot) and can have fights against as many as 27 NPCs (or even PCs if you wanted)....... Did the poster even make it to a shadow dungeon??.......I think what youre seeing is that there is alot of prejudice towards f2p games because they are free or have an item mall......Alot of MMO players think games must suck because they are f2p and dont really even try them.......Im sure guys like this post in every f2p game forum that the game sucks and you should go play their game........I find it funny that the poster says that RoM "aces" Atlantica in every aspect then goes on to say it isnt a WoW/EQ clone but every otehr post of RoM I have read says it is a WoW clone lol.......

Anyways as far as Atlantica goes dont read the boards....Of all games this is one you should go into with no preconceived notions.....It doesnt play like any game out there.....Being f2p and free to download you have nothing to lose jsut dont read the posts of some of these guys that played 5 minutes on their Atari 2000 and didnt like it........
