There are alot of games out there that can be considered having duo content. I don't quite know what you really want or don't want out of a MMORPG to tell for certain sorry. Most of the game I know of that 2 people can have fun spending time together doing stuff are usually pretty challenging games, or very harsh to either your time or your money, or both even. If you edit and give more preferences in a game I might be able to help out better. However, since this is the D&D online section. I'll recommend you not choose D&D online for couples, but hey, I can be wrong.
DDO is fine for a couple like he describes if they just want to have fun and not be super duper uber.
If you want to run the hardest stuff on elite and be super duper uber. Then well frankly it does get grindy and is not possible for a couple. You need run raids farm the same instance over and over over for jsut one drop. You need to farm the high end stuff for "crafting" materils over and over and over.
Otherwise you are just fine. That stuff is not really necessary ro run just about any content on normal or maybe even hard.
However I would warn you to not necessarily expect DDO to last forever for you. Eventually you will have run everything and maybe not want to do the endgame grind. I personally will not be doing the green steel item grind. Nor will I run reaver 50 times to get a chattering ring. Just not going to happen, I'd rather quit the game.
Also keep in mind DDO is kind of split between the power grinders and the a more experience oriented group. I personally powergame my character to a certain degree but I won't grind to do it. So I kind of fall in between these groups. They kind of don't like each other much.
Anyway you can play DDO however you like and be ok. But there are probably apsects to it you will simply not want to do. It has a good bit of longevity with multiple builds and alts and what not. And you should not really feel like you have to "keep up with the jones". Don't get me wrong there are tons of twinks around and definitely elitists but a significant portion of the game have not bought into that idea as well. So it is not a given.
As your main MMO this may be problem eventually. In that people who decided on a main MMO tend to take it well too seriously.
The thing both Turbine games seem to share, for some reason I do not know, is that you really can play the games your own way to a pretty decent degree when you are not to worried about other people and have a small number of like minded people. LOTRO is especially this way, but DDO is also this way.
I mean DDO has perma-death guilds that delete their chars on the first death. You really can play however you like. But don't get me wrong here, I don't thin kthe high-end of DDO , the min/max running only on elite as fast as possible crowd is for you at all. Not at all. I would try to avoid that.

Green Steel item crafting is a grind. No question about it. Oddly enough, it can be a lot of fun when running with well natured people.
You can run the Reaver a Bazillion time and you're not going to get the Chattering Ring, but that's because it's in the Twlight Forge and you have to defeat the Titan for a chance to loot it. :P

Say what you will about Mod 8, but the 'crafting' does avoid the ingredient grind.. insofar as it is random and you are guaranteed a complete item if you complete all four 'refuge' quests and the optional at the end of Stealer of Souls...

I'm ok with Mod 8's crafting although someone did drop the ball with the design of the rune sytsem. They should have introduced Named Runes which provide specific affects on items. These Named Runes should have been in the Optional Chests for the three prerequisite quests for Stealer of Souls. This would have encouraged more people to run the quests, the optionals and SoS.
I totally agree with you on this. My highest is lvl 9 with a lot of alts just because of this "dead zone". What are some good dungeons between 7-11?
Tangleroot Gorge, Threnal, erh..VoN. You can sort quests by level which would also help you get favor for the qeusts while getting exp. .
Ok I did one long one I can't remember the name. A series of caves, then it contines outside and you go up the mountain and it finishes up top. It took all night to complete and I got a batfang earring. Has perm feather fall on it.
What dungeon was that? Does that ring a bell?
That's Co6. Tempest's Spine and Xoriat Cipher are very good 8-10 quests, along with VoN series.
Tothe OP: Me and my Husband play on THelanis and we often duo stuff together. THere are ALOT of couples in the game.
