Looks like Tazoon.com is dead and buried. Although they are putting out feelers to see if they can find a new host.
AE recently pulled the pin on them as they were hosting them but seeing as now they have there own community site and forums they cant (or wont) host them both. This is a real shame as Tazoon was the best site and had the best forums. Ive gone to other sites such as stratics and vault but they dont compare to tazoon.
I hope tazoon can find a new host.

What made Tazoon an essential part of the Horizons experience was the sheer volume of information that it carried for the game. In the absence of any up-to-date material on the official game site Tazoon's huge community provided the support network without which Horizons would have foundered long ago. They were the official boards throughout beta testing and, until their unannounced disappearance a couple of weeks ago, they were the official support forums for European customers.
Official 'support' for the rest of the world's customers was apparently conducted via the VN/IGN boards and even a cursory read through them will fill you in on the sorry saga of nasty underhandedness and backstabbing that surrounds the withdrawal of hosting for Tazoon.com.
The new forums at community.istaria.com are are AE's (or whatever AE are calling themselves these days) initiative to bring all aspects of the game into a controlled area. While many would agree that this should have been the case from the outset, and that it was ludicrous not to have any form of officially hosted support boards from the day of release, I for one liked the fact that the community had a place that they could examine and discuss the game- warts and all- and found that the Tazoon boards were well-formatted and easy to read.
That said, in latter months much of the discourse on Tazoon descended into a standoff between the diehard fans and a growing number of disillusioned subscribers. The boards became more and more heavily moderated and the free-speech that so many users enjoyed at the site seemed to be somewhat stifled. It is no surprise that the individual who is now running the new, officially hosted boards, is the same moderator that managed to rile so many at Tazoon. Don't get me wrong, I am sure that (s)he was and is doing the best job that they could and can, but it is a situation that can only breed further resentment amongst an already fractured fanbase.
Due to a major oversight on my part and the automatic billing system having me on a 3-month subscription loop, I actually still have a Horizons subscription- although I haven't logged in for months. If the mooted, and in my opinion unnecessary, European server merge goes ahead then I fear it will prove to be the final straw for many people, and the game will be plunged further into the mire.
Good luck Horizons... you need it.
