I just wonder how a turn based game get 8.48 in user rating year 2008?
Is it better than LotR, EvE, GW etc? Regards to first page under released games it's almost the best game ever released until today, do you really think so??
MMorpg should make a difference between FREE and Pay games in their list over games.

Edit: I didn't realize it is #2 on the Most Voted list for released games. That's pretty good!
did you evne try the game before making this thread or do you just think that all f2p mmos will suck no matter what? tbh ive had more fun with most f2p mmos lately then the bullshit that has been released lately like war or aoc etc my guess you havent tried more then 1 f2p mmo before and just go along with other people say lulz and also its a very good game but then you wouldint know that it doesent matter if its p2p or f2p
I didnt play Eve but Atlantica is definitely better than LoTRO or GW, at least IMO.......Many of us ahve written in our posts dont let the "turn based" make you think the game is easy or slow....After level 50 the combat is very fast paced and pvp especially.......Ive had to think quicker and make quicker decisions here than I ever did in WoW, LoTRO, EQ2, GW, or any other game.........
I have been playing Atlantica on and off for a couple of weeks now, and I really enjoy it. The Turn-based combat is so reminiscent of Final Fantasy that I would probably add a couple of points to the rating because of the nostalgia factor. I would bet that is where a lot of those high ratings are coming from. Or maybe it is because it is not a little bit different from EQ, WoW and Guild Wars...
Alot of people will dismiss any f2p or asian game just because they think that it will have subpar servers or support. I almost passed over this game when I first started looking into f2p games, I'm very happy that I didn't. Imho this game should be rated as #1. WAR is boring after a day or 2 of playing. I'm level 104 right now and still not bored of this game (almost got all my crafting maxed
). I played WAR for the free month, same with AoC. I didn't find either of them to have much staying power. They get boring rather fast. AoC I thought was better than WAR only because the graphics are insanely awesome, but they both lack endgame, as do most mmos now days. Atlantica Online always has something you can be doing no mater what level you are, and that's what I love about it. 8.46 is rather low, it should be at least a 9.99 
That rating is bs, the graphics aint good, from what i played of the the story wasnt better than what most free mmos have (which means that it fits on a single sheet of paper), and character customisation is a word the devs never heard of. Sure it can be the best turn based free mmo out there but its not better than the big subscription games.
It prolly got a high rating because ppl from the staff came to the forums to spam a bit and rate, and because many people on this website are either kids that the parents wont pay the mmo sub or the cheap kind of players that dont understand that "free with cash shop" games end up being more expensive that sub one for hardcore players.
And yes I tried and and played f2p before even managed to like one for some time (rappelz) but on the long run as soon the devs realisez they have a good population hooked up they'll prolly stop doing nice stuff and just let the game decay and release a bit of content each year. Which is what EVERY F2P has done until now.

i started playing this game last week. i am having a blast doing the quests, etc.
on the rating, it might be because many users rate this game high? people have different opinions and maybe a lot of them think that it is worth that they rate it that way. in this case, they rated it high enough to bring it to #2.
im giving it an average rating of 8.5.
Atlantica is game which offers something new amongst the mmo's present these days. we would greatly enjoy it if we put our minds and hearts in playing it. its not really the ratings that counts but the very experience of playing it after a long days work or even right after you get out of bed.
i suggest you try the game out so you could see for yourself if the game is really worth the hype.
as for me, it deserves the hype because it's the first turnbased mmo ive played.

i thought that way before too.. when i saw the trailer i said to my self that this game sucks.. but when i started to play.. i found it very entertaining, the gameplay reminds me of my SNES days playing rpgs like FF3 and Breath of Fire
a lot of people seem to like, so give it a try...i think it seems rather boring, but whatever, i have zero attention span
