Looking for a server
I'm wondering if someone could recommend a server for me. I don't role play, but i'm looking for a very populated server. Is Landroval a good place for someone like me?
Thanks in advanced...

Your best bet would probably be Brandywine then. Elendilmir/Landroval are all also good choices.
Landroval is the Roleplaying server...unofficially anyhow, just to give you a heads up.
What happens if I don’t roleplay? I made a character on Landroval last night. Is Brandywine very populated? I just don’t want to get stuck on a low pop server, and find myself always trying to get PUG together… I’m coming from SWG, so you guys might understand.

Brandywine is the best bet. I will even toss you a kinship invite if you PM me here with your in game name.

Cool, I think I will do that. Can I create multiple toons on multiple servers? I read somewhere that I can only be on one server. (sorry for the noob questions)...

You can have 7 characters on each server.
If you have Mines of Moria. Only 5 if you don't.
Landroval is labeled the unofficial role playing server by the gamers. All this means is you are more likely to see role playing occur on Landroval. It is by far not expected.
Aye, I am on Brandywine as well. Most populated server in the game...if you believe forums, anyway.

I had to place my Amazon order for Moria after reading the launch article here. I had never thought about trying LotR when it released or even while in development and instead had invested all my hopes in AoC. That didn't pan out and I had myself an MMO Epiphany. I realize that I don't need FFA PvP and Open Looting to enjoy an MMORPG. All I want is a casual immersive experience. I had over-looked LotR because I thought it was going to be the typical movie-based(yes I read the books) game which would be 3X as bad being that it was an MMO. Instead, I read nothing but positive things. Even those who didn't like LotR or those who stopped playing can't say anything really bad about it. I'm pretty psyched and just hope this will be the first MMO since UO to last more than a few months. WoW was the only exception but even it lasted only 6 months or so.
Also thanks for the Server recommendations. I'm definately going with Brandywine. The only thing that kept me addicted to UO for almost 7 years was making friends in-game. Since then, I haven't had a real game-friend in the dozens of MMOs and Xbox Live games I've played. My problem is that people are either too young/immature, too unattached or not involved in the game(think CoD4 or Madden Players), or people way too into the game who like to dress like their characters in real life and hug a lot. I'm hoping that LotR will have less of the immature, prob none of the unattached, and maybe even a good percentage who aren't too involved. I'll need to play with a large population to meet people like this and apparently Brandywine is a good server for this.
Oh, I'd like to add that I had decided to look at LotR a few months ago as an MMORPG I might want to play. My final decision was to wait until the Expansion release before deciding whether to buy or not. So expect quite a population boost by people like me who had intended to play LotR for quite some time but figured it was best to wait until the Expansion launch.
LotRO is, in my opinion, the most relaxed MMORPG I have played. The people are friendly and there really is no need to rush through it...since the end game is fairly terrible (at least in pre-MoM).
If you join Brandywine, join the glff chat group. Originally it was created as a global looking for fellowship channel, but it has now been downgraded to basically a barrens chat. But, at least you will get to talk with (on average) 400-500 people at any given time.
Yeah... I don't regret my decision to buy Mines of Moria, however now I regret my decision to use the 5-9 day Free Shipping.....

Tons of these on youtube but this guy captures in HD and seems to do this better. I had no idea how good the music system was. Now they just need to throw in a lute controller/GuitarHero-like Minigame similar to the WoW Bard April Fool's prank.
I, like many other posters in this thread, play for the casual aspect of it. Quite a nice transition from WoW, where it always felt like you needed to play non-stop.
Laser,
Feel free to look me up in game. My character is Semunia, a level 52 burglar. I am going to slowly work on my lowly Minstrel ( level 12, if I remember) and would love to have another person to run around with! I usually get on for an hour or two a night. LotRO can be confusing at first... but once you get the general "feel" of it, it quickly becomes one of the most involved games I have played.
A quick tip: check your deeds often and work on them while you are in the appropriate level and zone. Otherwise, when you get much higher in level, you'll be spending a full week hunting down level 8 worms in the Shire!
