Hi, im a guild leader in another server. I have been playing WoW since 2004. Now I want to say, to be a leader is a tired thing. I know it is not right to say so as a leader, but it is true or true feeling of mine.
Well, my guild owns 100+ members now. During the 4 years, the guild has grown through a lot, happy and pain, with me and all my guys.
I remember once we even had not enough gold to buy flask for the guild, I have to farm the gold myself with my boys for a really lone time. I want to vomit even now when I think it lol.
Hmm, in the real life, im a gentleman at large, or to say I just have a part-time job nearby. So the money became the biggest problem, you know the guild building need it, just as we need food for growing up.
Now the situation of my guild improved a lot, but nowadays, another problem came, that is some of my members stop for another game. Guess what? Most of them are healers! You know that means want. No healers no tank. Although we still have there healers now, it is not enough. When Raid, you cant imagine what kind of trouble we are facing. Most of my members now level 60 or so, then I have to think about how to let them grow fast…
oh my…, all of these almost made me crazy, but I have to face it as a man, no other reason just because im the leader. I just want to know are you facing the same trouble or I am the only pathetic leader in the world?

Short Answer yep.
My newest headache was one of my officers desiding he was going to start his own guild, and cleaned out our GB and left with a group. Honestly I can get back the gold but the trust thing hurts.
Dont worry about too much thats my advice, people will come and go but try to remember its a game. You'll go nuts if you dont.

I'm not a guild leader, although I used to be one but then decided it wasn't for me. However, I can voice the woes of my current guild leader! The guild I'm in is a casual raiding guild, but they're trying to up the raiding part a little bit more. The problem is, that a while back all of our decent raiders left so they could advance to end game (before WotLK) leaving the guild weak and causing us to backtrack to lower raid instances. Then the guild leader stepped down, causing my current GL to step up. Poor guy! Seemed a few weeks later, a lot of people got busy or had other obligations. I myself had to quit WoW for a while due to my studies abroad, and so he was left with just a handful of capable members to do raiding.
We have a lot of new members now, but they're sort of in the same boat as your guildies- they're still too low to do any WotLK raids and most likely will take a while. But then again, it's a casual guild so it isn't a huge deal... but I know the GL and a few others want to get raiding a bit again!
