I firmly believe that if the game was going to release in 2008 then a date would of been set by now. I understand that it is possible to push it out with only a 2 weeks notice or so, but that is very uncommon. I don't see it coming out till Q1 or Q2 2009 at best.

I actually I voted yes. Simple logic really. If Darkfall will not be out this year they would already know it by now. Why wait till Dec 5th or later, to annouce the game will be delayed when obviously they would have had to know by say Mid November weither the game would be delayed or not? After all the games been in extensive beta since what early this year with proffesional paid testers, and advanced AI testing the game throughly, and more efficeintly then any beta tester ever could. ( Honest just ask the fans.) So there is no chance the current beta testers would have found a major bug that the AI, and profeesional testers couldn't have. Tasos has not even mentioned the mere possibility of any delay, and it would make no sense for Aventurine not to be upfront with thier fans, (though i guess some could argue aventurine could be using their fans as PR tools) So in short DArkfall must be coming out this year. The fact that even Tasos the King of "wiggle" wording stated a in stone date of release which was further backed up many time and is in their videos means Aventurine plans to push this puppy out the door by Dec 31st weither its ready or not. My guess is aventurine has run out of funds. The Greek goverment or some other funder/invester finally asked for some results for their money. I imagine i might be flamed but i figure it will be interesting to see what the fans take on this will be. What excuses will they make up for Aventurines silence on this point when release is due in 3 weeks, and open beta isn't even started?

I voted No based one 1 reason.I have a ton more reasons but this is where i had the most weight on.Lets say that the game was going to release in the next 25 days.Wouldnt the company (Virgin) inform all or some of the Greek Retail/Online stores that they would send them copies of a game called Darkfall for distribution? All these stores usually have the games up for preorder 2-3+ months before there release but i didnt manage to find a single store with Darkfall up for preorder.There is only one way that this will be avoided and the game launches in December and thats it that it will solely be via online Distribution but i dont think adventurine or Virgin have the means to do this on such a large scale. I personally believe the game is not also ready but since i cant know for sure since i have 0 info about the game,i just see the fact that Marketing still has a lot to do so i put my money on best case scenario March+ if ever.

4- The game is ready , all the content may not be.(More than playable
The game will be up and running before the end of the year, and that may consist of 1 european cluster/1 World Instance with 5-10k users on it. Marketing and real investment in this will not happen in reality until Mid 2009.
No reason whatsoever why this will not release, all the relevant infrastructure is in place there are external beta testers using the infrastructure in place now. How on earth could they be testing when Virgin weren't informed first.?

Anyone who has worked in high volume distribution knows that factory > shop floor in less than one week is common practice if the entire process is within same country, slightly longer if oversea's is involved. Most large retailers operate on the "just in time" principle.
All of the people talking about 6 month lead times on games are talking out of their anuses and haven't a clue. If a retailer wants to stock something they just order it and amend their merchandising plans, it's not hard.
One of the largest dvd / game / cd distributors has gone completely out of business in UK, does this mean no xmas presents for people? Of course not, retailers can get a brand new distributor they have never used before and start receiving shipments within a week. Any distributor that cannot offer this kind of flexibility does not get to work with major retailers.
