Not a beta tester but if they continue to make updates similar to the one they just did a few days ago you never know. I'd like to know what the beta testers think as well.

I'm not sure about the high end content, but I think once they straighten out the latest connectivity issues, it seems stable enough for a release to me.  However, that being said, they did recently mention all the additions they are planning for character customization.  I think they'll have some stuff to iron out once that goes in, so I think Nov 8-10 is cutting it close.  I wouldn't be suprised if it gets pushed to late November or even early December.

I'm sure they are just trying to push the release date so it is different than WoW's. I hope that they don't rush and screw the game up at all while trying to hurry a release date.

From what I have seen I think its ready to go.  I have not put in a ton of hours into it as I recently recieved the beta.  There was some problems with the last patch, but the seem to be working it out.  I think that was the last push before going gold.  I am guessing they will get the last patch under control and make the CD.  I am guessing sometime next week they will annouce the code going gold.  There will continue to be patches until release.

On release there will be a patch, and not everythign will work. I am sure there will be broken quest but nothing severe.  I am looking forward to getting my copy on the 9th =).

I have greatly enjoyed my time bug hunting in EQ2 beta. The graphics are the best out there, the new character customization that is coming this coming week will rock, and the world feels alive. I designed my character to look as much like me as I could and my two teen age children where amazed my 15 yo daughter actually asked if I sent them a pic. I truly think it is ready, and will make it. I was a WoW fan when I started this beta, and now I just don’t know. I was in WoW stress test and had a lot of fun, and had hoped to get into an open beta of WoW, but with EQ2 just around the corner, and no sign of a WoW open beta, I have pre-ordered copies of EQ2 for me and the kids as we play as a family. Had Blizzard given me a real date for the start of OB and a real launch date my money would have been theirs, but hey its only 3 accounts they will have millions. So to answer your question Yes I feel it is ready and I will be there.

It works... Of course there will be thousands of posts in release forums "What the heck, did they not beta this?", but then again, that probably happens anyway. It could use another month of betatesting, but its nothing that paying costumers can not fix for them.

In short.. good enough not to loose too many people. And fan bois seem to be very forgiving with unstable servers and lag the first three months, so its not like they will loose anything. Do not know how many times I have seen "Its just been released, so shut up" from paying costumers in game forums...

Only game I wait for right now: Imperator.

    Hmm

I don't know if those rumours are exactly correct. It does take about 2 weeks to go retail and Servers had made no announcement of ending beta. Usually they give you a week notice. But you never know.

    Is it ready for release?

In all honesty no mmorpg is for the exception of FFXI (and that had already been in action in Japan for about a year before it went beta to US)

Low-end content --> yes its ready

High End content --> There's some bugs that still needs to be ironed out

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

    [OffTopic]

I'm sure you got a few good answers from beta testers so ill post an off topic. i just wanted one of them who mentioned WoW above, that Blizzard has an OB coming within a couple weeks, I'm thinking it will start on the first and go till release. That's just a guess though. I can't wait for either of these games :)

I have heard every week someone saying the WoW OB is just around the corner but the fact remains they have given no details, not even "sorry it will be a few weeks yet". Both games are great games, and for me it comes down to whats in my hands as I like them both.

errm do I think they are almost ready. (yes) do i think they are ready for a nov. 8th release. (no) Don't get me wrong its an absolutley fantastic game... But really its not stable at all. After the last patch every 20min or so EQ would crash then you could not get back in due to active character error, Granted they are working on it and it is getting better and better with every hotfix but im not so sure it will be a solid game by nov 8th. i mean i know alot of you say you don't care what state the game is in you want to play it buggy or not. But imagine paying for a game you play for 20min then crash then keep trying to log in for a half hour or so. Over and Over and Over agian. Getsw frustrating.

But all the people saying this game is gonna be a flop are REALLY wrong it is truley and excelent game.

I only have about 10 hours of time into it but I would say yes. I get a CTD occasionaly(about every 2 and a half hours) when zoning but that may just be my box. The game itself at low levels is a lot of fun and is pretty polished.
