Tasos claims this game is so innovative that the competition is scared of it
But yet all they've shown in the last 7 years is nothing more than what looks like an outdated looking , generic PvP game composed of some of the most rudimentary and generic looking combat and gameplay that you can possibly have in ANY type of game.
The funny thing is this is exactly the same bullshit that this guy has been saying for YEARS already... without a single ounce of proof to justify any of it beside as previously menrioned - a few generic basic , videos.

Well with such bold and arrogant statements and disrespect to the competition.
All I can say is.... they better deliver in what they claiming or the launch of Age of Conan will look like the best in gaming history, compared to what will emerge on the gaming forums.

Is anyone going to actually pay to play this the first day? To me, this game has been 95% vaporware.
Warhammer and AOC both let you see a ton of content in beta and they still were 'scams' in my book. I can't imagine a game with basically no open beta asking payers to pay upfront and trust them.
This is definitely a game where you should wait at least 2-4 weeks before paying anything.
yea takes about a week for 1 skill to get 100 and thats if thats all you use
with 500-1000 skills and spells there probly a bit of grind but youd ont have to grind to do all things in game like in level based games..

They've said this is the plan. I expect something like the way EVE offers a Downloadable client and a free 14 day trial so you don't need to buy anything

I dunno how official you are looking for but if they wanted to try and get cash from people before they played the game why not do pre orders?

Competition should be scared, this game is perfect. It's actually so perfect that I'm worried about the world economy in the future, since obviously everyone will play it then that means no one does any work anymore. It's really scary.
Like all other MMO developers sound any different!
Darkfall have atleast tryed to make something different. Not the usually WoW-clone (EQ- clone).
I'll probably give it a month or so and see what people say about it before I pony up for it, or fight the release day crowds.

I hope so.
No OPEN Beta or Free Trial means I'll be staying away. I'm sure there are plenty that will say big deal... we don't need you. They may be right, but I'm willing to bet there are a few more that think as I do as well.
Hopefully though they will find a way to get that OPEN Beta up and running before Jan. 22nd.
I've never heard that claim... but its true. An Age of Conan dev created an account from his work at Funcom to bash Darkfall and spread vaporware rumors.

It's true. All the Trolls on this forum are paid by Blizzard. They are quaking in their boots right now, imagining going broke as all the WoW players leave and go to Darkfall.

If Tasos actualy said what the topic implies then Tasos needs to stop living in a fantasy world. This game isnt going to break any records or sell massive amounts of subs. WoW and the rest of the theme parks arnt worried about a game that appeals to a small percentage of mmog players.
I don't think he has said that, just like they haven't said the game is going to be mind blowingly amazing. It's people over reading the information thats been put out. That is the main cause of most the trolling, people read things and blow it out of proportion in their own minds, pretty sad really.

The guy literally lives in his own world with 90% of the comments he makes.

Tasos has said similar things many times. He feeds the fanboi fanatics ( not the fans, but the fanatics ) by using their own arguments as validation for his own and vice verse ( skeptics are trolls, other game companies are scared, etc., etc. ).
