I've tried on a few instances to register on both the Acclaim site, as well as the Spellborn/Acclaim site. Their sites have been either down completely, or the registration process doesn't work and hangs indefinitely... I don't know whose idea this partnership was, but making players who tend to make up a majority of customers wait several extra weeks to play is not a very smart approach. Then having a half-working site represent the game is a huge turn-off to the potential user base... And no information about what is going on.

The game has been this way for the last several years. I've been saying all along that it will die before it even makes it out the gate, regardless of whether it's a good game or not, but people still swear up and down it's going to be the next big thing.
The devs have made it clear they have no idea how to manage a game.
I wouldn't expect it to be the next big thing, honestly. It's a relatively small studio, and foreign to boot. They're using the Unreal engine, I believe the same version as Lineage 2 began with. They have a free-to-play plan, so it's going to draw in some of the wrong kiddie crowd.
But if they can bring together a vibrant, organized, and viable PvP experience, they can certainly have a stable customer/player base. This Acclaim thing and multi-publisher idea is just not smart and NOT going to help them. They should have just had an online release only and skip boxes. We'll see how this works out though. I'm sure more opinions will trickle in as people get the opportunity to start playing.
This game reminds me of Fury and we all know how well that worked out.
I loved fury, and to be honest, i do miss it.
Lets hope your skill on reading tea leaves fails here
I cannot agree with you there because the free to play is limited to the start zone and after a certain lvl (7 i think) you will not get exp. This is just a trial or a demo. So this will not drawn in a kiddie crowd like F2P game. Anyway the game is based on players skills and not on armors so kids will porbably doesnt love this game like then love WOW.
For the accalim thing i must agree but well what can we do?
Well for me this game as nothing do to with Fury. Fury was a arena pvp game. Spellborn is a pvp game but with a consistant world where you explore it and do quest.
I too haven't been able to register at the Acclaim sites (Acclaim home or Acclaim Spellborn) due to some error on the page (this has been going on for at least 3 weeks). Guess I won't be playing the closed beta since I can't register at all... Very sad to see this kind of management for a truly fun looking game that I had hoped might become a new favorite (you know, a new MMO home).
I'll still keep an eye on the game's progress, but damn am I disappointed already
I had no problems registering at http://spellborn.acclaim.com/
that site has been down all day for me.
that site has been down all day for me.
Yup, down for me as well today. Gotta love that...the day the beta starts n they can't even have the website running well. Really puts my confidence in acclaim runnin this game right threw the roof...

Yeah for me it was just a stop gap till Aion but they arent exactly my hopes up to even try it at all.
lol on there forum they said that they are ready
So you created a brand new Acclaim account recently (not just add TCOS to your existing Acclaim account)?
What internet browser are you using? I'm wondering if IE8 is the issue.
Has the Open Beta started for the US Version? Whats the release date?
I'm register on acclaim site and on my account it says my spellborn is active but when i enter the game i got wrong username and password!
I just started my download and created an account for it.
I have to say i had no problems at all creating one.
It was done in a minute and the activation mail was in in less then a minute.
No problems so far.
1) It's not Acclaim's fault this time. It's the Dev's that hasn't released the code to them to start CB for NA.
2) I found out that it's possible the CB isn't launching today because of EU Release. I personally find this stupid. If the date of CB for today was mentioned before, even though knowing the EU Release was today as well.. they ought to stick to the plan like professionals.
3) There are no official announcements as of yet.
4) The Acclaim site is back up, but there has been no changes. It was down for me too at 5am. I was excited hoping they were updating it. Then I woke up finding it's the same. What a let down! lol.
Well, the 5th (today) isn't over so hopefully we'll have good news.
If you try to register on Acclaim's site make sure you register on the Acclaim site and not the Acclaim spellborn site. There has been a problem with people who register under the Acclaim spellborn site showing up as anonymous and being labeled as guest when they post on the forums.
Now on the "start of NA beta", the acclaim Spellborn forums are completely down. I'm hoping that this is just some weird hiccup and that they didn't make a massive mistake in bringing Acclaim onboard here. I'm sure there are AT LEAST a hundred thousand people in NA and the UK who want to try or buy this game. And right now, Acclaim is turning away their customers.
MM ok and where do you download the game because it say active too on my account but i dont see any link to download it on acclaim site.
You can't, because it will detect your from the US and redirect you to the american publisher. Only Euros can make accounts, cause of fucken acclaim. I wonder if it is possible to have someone from EU, make an account for you to get into the trial. Only problem is trusting that person with a password.
Frankly Im really angry, cause I went to discussions on the site that said how they were going to get the trial and yet no dev corrected us, by telling that it was only for EU. They didn't even try and put it out in big text : ONLY FOR EU. That takes what, 2 seconds? poor management there.
You mistaken here... we all know acclaim manage the US and we dont want the trial from EU. We are talking about the Acclaim Closed beta here. The closed beta for North america was suppose to begin the 5 december (we are not talking about the EU release who was the 5 december too).
For your info i have an EU account (create before the IP blockade) but still i cannot play it.. they seem to blok my IP even for downloading the EU client.
You can DL the client, since it comes from 3rd party sites, like gamershell, thats where I learned it was EU only.
We dont care about the EU client................
and we dont care about us client -.-
