If it had not been for MMORPG.com I would have never even heard of Darkfall. After I saw it here I decided to go check it out. It started out looking like most other mmo's except when I got to the PvP part. Now I like pvp as much as the average guy but I dont live for it. I like Warhammer and their style of pvp. Mainly because it is not forced upon me and I dont lose al my stuff when I die. After seeing that in Darkfall you can be attacked anywhere at anytime and anyone can loot your corpse well, lets justr say I wont be wasting money on it at launch. The thing that bothers me the most is when the creators of DF were asked "what about griefers?" they had the same response that any other game that tried that style of play and it dosent work. They said it will be tough being a killer. being shuned by merchants and not being able to enter cities and such. This wont stop the griefers, they will just have one character for selling and one for killing and the only way they can prevent that is to only allow one copy of the game per person and only one character which will never happen. So, I say goodluck with that DF and as I look through the list, I glance up at the line of mmos'c coming out I say, Next!

4 posts in 6 years. Thanks for contributing. You shouldn't have bothered to crawl out of your cave with this idiotic post BoB.
You clearly don't like PvP because real PvP has risk vs reward to make it meaningful, otherwise it's a joke like in WAR where zerging becomes an approved method of winning battles. You don't speak to any of the fantastic features that Darkfall will be offering and the freedom of a real virtual world uninhibited by all the cloned unrealistic mechanics of late, such as instancing, lack of a significant death penalty, marked questgivers, etc. that have plagued and ruined the MMOG genre.
Darkfall isn't for you. Why do you feel compelled to voice your disapproval when there are countless sissy, dummied down, watered down, so called MMOGs out there for you to choose from? We purists and so called hardcore enthusiasts have had slim pickings to choose from since the days of classic EQ, UO, and SWG. Give us a freakin break and let us enjoy one MMOG we can call our own.
Ah Ha! it is now 6 post! hmm, or is it 7. Anyway how does that matter? Just because I have never posted until now I don't have a right to? I really hope the game works out for people like yourself so you can enjoy DF. I really do but I also like to voice my thoughts so other people that like the same play style I do can use this information to decide if they want to spend their hard earned cash on DF or not. Having a one sided conversation is not fair to everyone. Besides I like a good debate as much as the next guy.
Bob
What debate? You are delusional. You like gamestyle X and I like Gamestyle Y. No debate.

My experience is that players that like to grief will go to EXTREME lengths to do it. Mindlessly grind for a million hours? Sure no problem. Travel across teh entire world to trade, them come back to grief some more? Sure, no problem. Get killed by guards a million times, sure no problem. Kill, log off, kill again, log off, yep. Two box so you can trade with one character, grief with another, why not.
If it CAN be done, griefers will do it.
Agreed, there are two enticements here, first is the fact that they can just let someone else do the hard work first, then gank them and take what they have, and two, you know its gonna hurt when you loot everything someones work for, thats the kinda satisfaction griefers crave, knowing theyve pissed you off.
I"ve been on FFA PvP servers and seen griefers do things I just couldn't imagine doing myself. You're going to go off in the woods, by yourself, and grind on green mobs over and over until you max level, just so you can gank lower level players? Yep.
I couldn't do it, but for some people it's a piece of cake.
Given the amount of obnoxious fans, Ive decided Ill go this route, with so many of its players not having any ffa pvp expierience, theyll be ripe for the picking. Id rather kill for my gear and loot as opposed to actually farm for it.
What makes it really funny is Ill be doing it in a large group of guildies, Im hopin to hunt down a few of the fanbois on these boards as well.
When US servers launch I will be playing as Gray Ghost so feel free to look me up.

You can only have one character per server, so this won't happen much. Also if a greifer attacks someone they get flagged and then can be attacked by anyone else on the entire server.
Finally Darkfall isn't a gear based game. You are being matched against the other players skill, gear doesn't matter that much. This is why Darkfall won't fail. Because even if I lose my uber-leet gear I can still kill people. This has never been done before in an MMO so DF will be different.
Also you are really ignorant if you think Darkfall sounds like any other old MMO, just plain ignorant.
We will not wear any armor, or any clothes, and we will Zerg you naked, then take all your stuff.
It doesn't matter if you kill 10 of us, because you won't get anything, we will be naked. But if we only kill one of you, we will strip you bare, and sell everything and put the money in the bank.

Stupid concept Ihmotepp. If this is how you view playing in a virtual world as enjoyable, then I pity you. People like you with this attitude is why communities don't thrive in newer MMOGs. Instead of trying to immerse yourself in a virtual world you want to find ways to ruin the concept because you are worried about losing gear. You whine about ganking then choose to gank yourself with cheesy zerg tactics as naked players. I don't think much of the immature ADD crop of gamers these days but I doubt even they would subscribe to this playstyle for very long.
What happened to all the "freedom" Darkfall is supposed to have?
I'm just using the game mechanics to enjoy the game the way I want to. Isn't that the whole idea?
We want a sandbox, so we can play a game that isn't linear, and do what we the players want...
Unless you do this, which the game allows, and then you're ruining the game.
WTF??!!
I'm not trying to ruin the concept. You guys are the ones that keep telling me gear isn't important in this game, which is why the FFA play and full looting is ok. The devs decided to make a game where gear isn't important, then I'm going to have fun in such a game and play naked.
Unless you're changing your mind and telling me that gear will be very important? Which one is it?
Prepare yourself for the Naked Zerg! We don't care if you kill us 10 to 1, because we have nothing to lose. But if we kill just one of you, we will strip you bare, until you to join Clan Naked!
You don't even have to join the Clan Naked to participate. We will invite other Clans and players to strip down to their underwear, put their stuff in a bank, and go on the Naked ZErg.
Originally posted by Ihmotepp I did not say you could do that in Darkfall. I am saying this is an example of the extremely tedious and boring things gankers will do if they have to. See the point? You may replace "grinding green mobs" with absolutely antyhing in th3e game that sucks to do, but you ahve to do it so you can gank people. Get it?
and how is that different or less legitimate than the boring things PVE people will do to achieve their ends? if you're going to argue that it's because it's "ruining someone else's game," then you aren't really wrong, but the PVE/PVP-lite audience has been ruining games for me for 8 years by hopping onto products that were already released, dabbling on PVP servers and attaining high level, then pissing because the ruleset they chose had consequences that they knew about when they signed up.
further, they have been jumping onto games in the pre-development stages that had the original intention of being open PVP, and rousing such a fuss as to make the weak developers turn their backs on my so-called "niche market." Age of Conan and Pirates of the Burning Sea started with concepts of "open PVP," and were reduced to what amounts to territorial PVP in the case of the former, and karma/punishment in the case of the latter. a lot of that had to do with the publishers' will, but if you look at the publisher of Pirates (SOE), you'll see that they weren't initially anti-PVP. as much as people hate that company, old Everquest experimented heavily with many different rulesets, some of which (old item loot Vallon, and FFA Sollun) leaned towards the hardcore. in the case of Pirates, SOE, the evil corporation who nuked the poor little indie studio's plans, was only looking back at its subscriber base.
add to that the fact that we cannot get even one lonesome FFA loot server in 90% of games (even those that planned for PVP like Conan), when other niche markets like roleplaying, and even blue-server style PVE-only in the case of the rising number of battleground/PVP-iite/RVR games like WoW, are given multiple servers. i'd say it's the "ganker" (which is really a weasel word for "playstyle i find annoying") that has been greef'd here.
obviously, publishers and developers want to make money, and they dropped the FFA because it wasn't netting them that, but DF is a game that has the potential to turn that around. this is not Meridian 59, this is not UO. if it were either of those, i would be happy, but the OP's arguments would be more valid. Darkfall, as conceptualized, is an improvement over those games. it is not the exclusion of the PVE playstyle either: from what i understand, the mobhunting is somewhat different from the norm in that AI behaves more like an FPS- not in that it's all twitch, but in that it actually wants to live. that's one of the few things the beta testers have been able to communicate through the NDA. there won't be any boring green hunting in this, because weapons won't for the most part be magical, and greens will dodge.
so nah i don't "get it" about why DF's allowing of ganking is bad. if anything, i'd say you might like it because it'll get some of us off of your games, but it seems like you've already made a guild to run around and blaze people naked. if this game launches smoothly, i hope to see you on sir, because i can tell you that if they deliver, it will be enough to convert even the most stalwart malingerers, skeptics, and bitter cunts. having signed for clan beta 3 years ago and not seeing a thing, i'm one of the bitter cunts, and tbh, some of the stuff i'm hearing is starting to convert me

Re read my post. I said nothing about ganking being bad. I said, people that like to gank will do boring things over and over if they have to, so they can gank other players.
That's it. You're reading way more into it.
In other words, unless you make it excrutiatingly painful for gankers to kill other players, they will do it. If you gank people, then we will make you do x,y, and Z to keep playing the game. Ok, fine. They will do it, and gank some more. That's my only point.
Until you get to the point where they won't, at which point it's not really FFA PvP. If you gank someone you lose half your skills, all your gold, and you can't play the game for a week. Ok, no more ganking, but it's not really FFA any more is it?

It worked then, it will work now, and it won't destroy the game. One flaw with the concept is if the naked zerg runs into the heavily geared zerg, guess who wins, and wins big?

Bob
The password is join.
Actually, Clan Naked isn't a new concept. Back in UO the Shadowclan used this same tactic/philosophy. They would only accept orcc members, role played heavily and won fights with the zerg rather than their gear.
It worked then, it will work now, and it won't destroy the game. One flaw with the concept is if the naked zerg runs into the heavily geared zerg, guess who wins, and wins big?
Woot! Sounds great.
No flaw. If the Naked Zerg loses to the heavily armored Zerg, we just respawn, and look for a smaller zerg to take out. What would we lose? We're Naked!
It's a trade off. You sacrifice the ability to win more often, for the freedom of playing Naked.
I'm pretty sure they'll add a mechanic to stop this or at least make it slower for you to respawn so people don't have to deal with a never ending naked zerg who don't care if they die.
I'm pretty sure they will not. It won't be a problem, because more people would rather feel l33t in their gear than run around naked.
I mean what the heck, it's naked people, you should be able to kill them easily, right?
It will be fun. I can PvP all the time, and if I die, I lose a rusty sword at most, so who cares?
Are you sure they only want a "niche" market? If I were a dev I would want as many people as possible to play my game. If they want to make money then they need to create a game the majority likes. I have only seen a few times where the devs said damn the masses I will create a game I want to play even if they do not. Anarchy online comes to mind when I think about this type of attitude and look where that game is now. WOW and EverQuest2 didnt get as popular as they are by not catering to the masses. The point I happen to be of the same opnion as "the masses" dosent matter.
BTW, to answer your other question, I post because I like MMOs and want my opnion heard by future devs so they may base games on what I like, i.e. "the masses"
Bob
I Have to disagree Bob, diversity for the win Its a sad day when the only choice is EQ, WoW, or generic clone 193. Actually we have been in the MMO dark ages for years. I blame Brad Mc Grind the Jolly Green Ranger of striping so much that was good in MUD's and replacing it with crud in EQ I.
Sounds like you are well catered for? Why do you not want 'niche' players to have fun? I would bet that many mainstream guys would like a change once in a while? DF is skill based and open ended too (I dislike the term 'sandbox'). Does that appeal?
As for DF we shall see I've never played a game where griefing and ganking was a major problem for a skilled player with a skilled charatcer. IF its a [rpblem in DF that will be a shame.
Your opinion has been stated many many times by the hordes of players who have only played WoW like games or are too afraid of a real dynamic experience. This is just too nearsighted to realize there is more out there than a treadmill that the accountants at Blizzard have cooked up for you. How can a fairly static world like WoW even compared to the dynamic experiences in Darkfall. Haven't even mentioned the wide clan centeric play involved in building clan cities to defend etc.
To paraphrase a great game designer "without peril there can be no heros" Raph Koster. In-game danger makes everything more exciting and real. You just have to change how you play the game and be more careful. WoW just polorized me and made me realize that it was just a single player game with the option of Co-Op here and there. I will not settle for that.
Can games be ruined by greifers? YES. There needs to be in game retribution and so far Darkfall seems to be on top of that.
So instead of being this negative nancy about a system you haven't even fully read about (one player per account) and open your mind to the fact this game is the best chance for every player that has seen the smoke and mirrors of almost every other MMO.
I cut my teeth playing Asheron's Call on Darktide, so I am probably in the minority when I say I crave ganking and griefing. I have done both and had it done to me, that was just a fact of life playing on DT. The reason I don't mind it being in a game is because it adds a new dimension and forces you to watch your back. On Darktide you did not go AFK anywhere, well until they added housing. You were always on the watch for the red dot to pop up on your radar, and the first thing you did was ID the person to see who they were and who they were with. If ganking and griefing did not kill off AC when it launced, AC is going on 10 years of game time, I doubt that it will harm Darkfall. The game is aimed specifically at players that either tolerate it or look for it, so people that decide to play the game and then complain about it will look rather foolish.
DF is most definately not for everyone, and it certainly isn't aimed at players that want a mild form of PvP such as WoW/WAR. PvP with no risk isn't terribly exciting, in WAR if you die you respawn, pay for health, and go right back and you'll do this over and over because there is no risk. In AC when you died you got a Vitae penalty(Negative XP) and you dropped some of your items. Yes it did suck when you dropped an item that you didn't want to lose, but you sucked it up and moved on. However the items and armor were not uber, in the beginning all armor and weapons were pretty much on par with each other. Some had a bit more stats than others but there was no real uber/epic loot. So in AC skill determined the fights, and fights could last upwards of 10 minutes or longer. In todays games people seem to want 10-15 second fights with no risk/reward for it. I have yet to feel any real satisfaction when I PvP with todays games. In AC you felt like a freakin god when you finally killed someone after fighting them for 5-10 minutes, even when losing you still felt some form of accomplishment.
In the end if you do not want serious, hardcore, anything goes, make your butt pucker PvP then DF probably isn't for you. Some say it is a niche game and others say it's not, I say who cares. The game at this moment is being marketed towards people that want a more extreme form of PvP than is currently found. Only time will tell if the formula works and then we'll all see if the fans or the haters were right. I do agree with most and say that it was pretty much pointless for the OP to post, you pretty much came off like you were whining about the game. Can flame for saying it but thats what your OP looked like at least to me.
Bob
you said it yourself, you can be a griefer but life will be tough, because for your example you would need TWO ACCOUNTS, that's double the money and that's some length to go to to grief. You're allowed to grief and there are ways to grief, but it will be reaaaaly tough.
And its not THAT big of a problem because victims can fight back, unlike everyother game with this system.
You really never have played Meridian 59 before have you. Everything you listed above has been done before on meridian 59. In fact If I were the owners of Meridian 50 I'd consider suing. Again with the personal attacks, why is it so hard for some people to just agrue the points of the game rather that to stoop to "well, your momma is fat" type remarks.
Bob
Here's a personal attack for you: you're a moron. I haven't played Meridian 59, but I know what it is, and I've also played what can be considered its successor, UO, which had nearly the same features.
You can't copyright features, else UO would've been sued by M59 11 years ago. Or Warhammer would be getting sued by WoW, who would've gotten sued be EQ.
If anything, this game's similarity to Meridian 59 (or UO, which is probably more familiar to this game's followers) is its attraction. Is this game a lot like M59 and UO? Sure, and the appeal is it isn't like WoW, EQ, or any of the other contemporary games on the market.
Ah Ha! it is now 6 post! hmm, or is it 7.
Obviously, the game is not for people with preferences like yours. Seeing as the major selling point of the game is player freedom, including free PKing, any (excuse the term) "carebear" dumb enough to pick it up not knowing what it is is pretty dumb indeed.
Consider the game's lack of official marketing. Consider that nearly all the game's publicity comes from fan word of mouth: A: "Hey, did you hear about this new sandbox game? It's supposed to be like UO, but in 3D!" B: "Cool! Full PvP! All right!"
(1 month later) B: "What? I died and lost all my stuff? Why did no one ever tell me?? I quit!"
Having a one sided conversation is not fair to everyone. Besides I like a good debate as much as the next guy.
"Debate" my ass.
All you've posted is "this game has full loot free PvP; i won't be playing it!!". Okay, great for you. What about that really warranted a new thread? And what the hell does that have to do with your idea of a Meridian 59 "ripoff", which had nothing to do with your original "i don't like this game" post?
You're a troll, pure and simple. Guess what? I don't like the art style and game features of Aion. I guess that means I should make pointless posts trolling about the game in the Aion forums, right? I also think the combat system in Spellborn is gimmicky, like AoC's "real combat" in lieu of a true 3d real-time FPS control system. Off to troll the TCoS forums! Oh wait: I've never even been into the forums of either of these games, nor really participated in their discussion.
If you want to post what is pure opinion, go for it. I can't stop you; I'm not a mod. But don't pretend you're participating in any sort of meaningful debate about objectively verifiable facts and claims. And don't be surprised when people call you out on what you're really doing: participating in spammy trolling.
If you want to troll the game that badly, you might want to check out Forumfall. Spam to your heart's content there; and best of all the inhabitants are unconstrained by rules in dealing with trolls.

Funny, Planetside is much the same, you can re-spawn and kill anyone again without your gear. PvP 101.
Too many people think gear won't be important in this game, reality check just because the developers have said this isn't a gear centric game doesn't mean gear isn't important. To all those people saying that they are just going to form zerg's and rush people , what happens when you rush people who are not only skilled but are well geared? I will take 20 players who are well skilled and well geared over 60 players who are well skilled with zero gear anyday...
There is a reason why the same developers have said that they want gear to be a money sink in darkfall, how will they do that if gear means nothing.
I am going to laugh at the QQing and crying at idiots who think that its only about "skill" when they discover that just because they are a good PvP that means they don't need gear.
This game may not be gear centric like almost ever other MMORPG , but like EVE you still need good equipment to be the best player you can be.

The saying "gear doesn't matter" has basis in truth; in 2 factors, actually.
1. Gear (and "levels") don't hyperinflate your character the way it does in other games.
For example, in WoW, you start out at level 1 with under 100 hp. By level 80, you could have well over 20k hp. If you're naked, you have 10 times less hp, no damage mitigation, and deal irrelevant damage.
In Darkfall, while gear and skill points matter, it won't be such an overwhelming difference. Also, armor is supposed to provide only mitigation, not "stat-slots" like in WoW. Gloves that make you smarter? A helmet that makes you more dexterous?
2. Often overlooked, gear is much easier to acquire. You don't raid for months to collect a suit of purple shinies. The treadmill-esque acquisition of gear is not the point of the game. Equipment is much more utilitaran, being a means to an end rather than the end itself.
With these two factors in mind, my prediction is that while naked raiding may be a viable tactic, it may not be the most efficient course of action.
If I can suit up in a relatively cheapass suit of basic armor and a cheap but decent weapon with little effort, I can greatly magnify my combat effectiveness over naked, with very little effort. Kind of like starter frigate fleets in EVE.
A non-starter frigate with basic T1 mods is dirt, dirt cheap. Anyone can fly and lose them, and turn around and replace them. Therefore, it makes no sense to go around PKing with noob frigates, except for the gimmick.
That's what people mean by "gear is not important". Because compared to games where gear IS the game, it really isn't.

this is true cortanya but when people say "gear is not important" most people aren't saying the same thing as you, they actually think gear isn't important. It will DEFINATELY be a factor and work like how stryker described, but gear that you will be able to kill people with and is semi-decent will be easy to obtain. Kindof like in RL, sure you can kill someone really skilled and well geared with a copper sword if you're much more skilled than them, but it would be a lot easier to do it with a steel sword.... (in "modern" mmos its impossible to dent a "high lvled guy" with good gear, let alone kill him/her)
Actually, Clan Naked isn't a new concept.
True, and this happen in many forms.
When an American server in UO went down for any reason, the players went to the forum and selected an European server to attack while they waited. Suddenly we on the Europa server got attacked by a zerg of several hundred newbie players. They were all farmers with a pitchfork, strawhat and a blue ressrobe, (blessed newbie items). All of them had the same name Farmer Bob.
They swarmed the soloplayers like ant and after lots of deaths to the farmers they killed the player. Sure they all died when more came, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted. We did the same to the US servers when our server went down, and I bet that will happen in DF too.
Nothing wrong with clan naked, and one of the few good things Ihmotepp have contributed to the DF forum.

That is hilarious. A great story, and quite memorable to be attacked by lots of Farmer Bobs.
So much anger from some of you. Why not put it to good use and join the military. This is a game, a game is suppose to be fun and if murder is your idea of fun I am glad I dont live near you. Point taken that some of you dont think I should have posted. So, what you just want the people that love the game to post their opnions? Is that it? Everyone else dosent count? Ah well, no matter DF will see no money from me and who knows maybe I will go on a posting spree at all the DF sites pointing out what the information that is not up front on the DF web site. If I can save one person from wasting their money on this piece of dribble I will be a happy man. So please flame me as much as you like, it just shows the flaws of the game more so, else it would not need be defended so vehemently.

Not quite sure how people that wanna PvP got branded as murderers, oh well. I welcome all remarks pertaining to the game, both good and bad. The only way to really decide a games merits before it releases and to some extent after it goes live is to look at both sides and form your own opinion. Some people cannot wait for the game, others feel the need to bash it. With that said I like most people don't see the point for people who categorically state that they do not intend to play the game to continue posting about it. What is the point? If you hate the game then don't buy it, its that simple. Saying that you feel some need to go on a crusade to convince people to not buy the game based solely on your own personal opinions of the game will get you flamed no matter what the game is.
At this point in time noone really knows what the game will have in it, or even how the PvP will go. Speculating on it and forming an opinion based on forum posts or anything else short of playing the game is pointless. I read your posts and I agreed with some things and disagreed with others, do I feel the need to wantonly flame or attack you personally over it, of course not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however those that don't play a game, or never intend to play a game really shouldn't have any kind of opinion on that game. It would be like me hopping over to the AoC forums and randomly bashing the game even though I have never played it and never intend to play it.
I agree that there appears to be a lot of anger, not sure why people feel the need to get overly worked up over a forum post. Time will shortly tell us whether this game is worth it or if it is epic fail, I am reserving my ultimate judgement until I get some play time in. Both sides should probably do the same.

We will invite other Clans and players to strip down to their underwear, put their stuff in a bank, and go on the Naked ZErg.
and how is that different or less legitimate than the boring things PVE people will do to achieve their ends? if you're going to argue that it's because it's "ruining someone else's game," then you aren't really wrong, but the PVE/PVP-lite audience has been ruining games for me for 8 years by hopping onto products that were already released, dabbling on PVP servers and attaining high level, then pissing because the ruleset they chose had consequences that they knew about when they signed up.
further, they have been jumping onto games in the pre-development stages that had the original intention of being open PVP, and rousing such a fuss as to make the weak developers turn their backs on my so-called "niche market." Age of Conan and Pirates of the Burning Sea started with concepts of "open PVP," and were reduced to what amounts to territorial PVP in the case of the former, and karma/punishment in the case of the latter. a lot of that had to do with the publishers' will, but if you look at the publisher of Pirates (SOE), you'll see that they weren't initially anti-PVP. as much as people hate that company, old Everquest experimented heavily with many different rulesets, some of which (old item loot Vallon, and FFA Sollun) leaned towards the hardcore. in the case of Pirates, SOE, the evil corporation who nuked the poor little indie studio's plans, was only looking back at its subscriber base.
add to that the fact that we cannot get even one lonesome FFA loot server in 90% of games (even those that planned for PVP like Conan), when other niche markets like roleplaying, and even blue-server style PVE-only in the case of the rising number of battleground/PVP-iite/RVR games like WoW, are given multiple servers. i'd say it's the "ganker" (which is really a weasel word for "playstyle i find annoying") that has been greef'd here.
obviously, publishers and developers want to make money, and they dropped the FFA because it wasn't netting them that, but DF is a game that has the potential to turn that around. this is not Meridian 59, this is not UO. if it were either of those, i would be happy, but the OP's arguments would be more valid.

You can only have one character per server, so this won't happen much. Also if a greifer attacks someone they get flagged and then can be attacked by anyone else on the entire server.
Finally Darkfall isn't a gear based game. You are being matched against the other players skill, gear doesn't matter that much. This is why Darkfall won't fail. Because even if I lose my uber-leet gear I can still kill people. This has never been done before in an MMO so DF will be different.
Also you are really ignorant if you think Darkfall sounds like any other old MMO, just plain ignorant.
This is why I am making Clan Naked!

Can flame for saying it but thats what your OP looked like at least to me.
you said it yourself, you can be a griefer but life will be tough, because for your example you would need TWO ACCOUNTS, that's double the money and that's some length to go to to grief. You're allowed to grief and there are ways to grief, but it will be reaaaaly tough.
And its not THAT big of a problem because victims can fight back, unlike everyother game with this system.

Consider that nearly all the game's publicity comes from fan word of mouth:
A: "Hey, did you hear about this new sandbox game? It's supposed to be like UO, but in 3D!"
B: "Cool! Full PvP! All right!"
(1 month later)
B: "What? I died and lost all my stuff? Why did no one ever tell me?? I quit!"
Classic. Troll. Post.
OP's argument was shot down on page 1, yet this has persisted to 5 pages...

The saying "gear doesn't matter" has basis in truth; in 2 factors, actually.
1. Gear (and "levels") don't hyperinflate your character the way it does in other games.

this is true cortanya but when people say "gear is not important" most people aren't saying the same thing as you, they actually think gear isn't important.

Lol according to this I'm bipolar :O
Classic fanboi. Anyone that doesn't love Darkfall is a troll.

Bob
