Thinking about starting, but....

Should i wait for server merges t be complete, or are there servers i can join in now and have a good experience with my wife duoing of course. We both like pvp but like pve alot too. Any suggestions are great.

Did you try the game back in November when Avery gave you a buddykey?
If you enjoyed it then you should enjoy it now and not wait for the merges. What type of server are you looking for pvp or pve?

Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate.
I bought the game recently and am loving it so far. I'm playing on Tyranny and the population seems to be good. All the servers atm are in Medium load.

Actually just about to do the trial, been out of town alot with work. I understand i should use buddy key first, and i m going to , but played a bit on friends account and loved it so far. Can t remember what server he was on, but we like the idea of a pvp server. I like the watching my back as i quest idea:). Just wondering if i should wait for a fresh start, ie merged servers or if i read correctly they re adding to new servers when merges happen. Or just roll on a populated one now.
The servers are ALWAYS listed at medium load. That won't change, no matter how few people are on the server.

Rohn is somewhat correct but the good servers are now listed as recommended. To safe it, just go for Tyrrany or Wiccana (PvE).
Very true. Rolling on a recommended server will probably save much angst later, and allow you to play right now on a server that has a somewhat higher population than most.

Cimmera is a good server to roll a toon on too. its pvp so it makes things interesting

Yes you can join now if you whant, you dont have to wait for server merges.
Just choose a high pop server, i play on EU so dont know about US servers but Fury / wildsoul are the best pvp servers on EU.

I would still recommend waiting until the server merges are done, and they've added some of the content and changes they've been promising for a while.
It's still not a very good game, but some of the changes might make it better.

I would recomend Cimmera as well. the server has a good high pop and is pvp. However, if you prefer a pve server Wiccana is also pretty busy.
I would ignore the trolls here as well. Most of them are war or darkfall fanboys with a sense of insecurity.

Decided to give the game another shot. Rerolled as a HoX on Cimmaria by the name Vaisanto. Had a couple of technical problems but was able to quickly resolve them.
The game deffinately performs better than it did at launch. At launch I was lucky to get 15-20 fps on the lowest settings, but now I getting 50+ fps on medium settings, so quite a huge improvement there.
Having a lot of fun so far, much better than WAR. Gonna have to start looking for a guild soon.
Can anyone recommend a good guild for a returning AoC noob?
Hmmm i def prefer pvp, think I might be on fury already with my toon. Will have to reload the works before she is up and running.

Between work and school I haven't gotten to play as much as I would like, but I've been very impressed with the improvements I've seen. The game performs about 100 times better than it did at release. Also there seems to be better loot dropping. I've noticed items actually dropping that have useful stats.
I was a bit worried playing on Cimmeria without a guild to back me up, but the stories of gank fests on White sands appear to be extremely over rated. People have helpful and most people won't kill you more than once unless you initiate a second battle.
Found a guild pretty quickly and so far I'm having a blast. Over all the game is a lot better than it was at launch and I recommend people giving the game a second chance.
You can as well start now, the server population doesn't really matter before level 35 and Sanctum time. Get you and your wife time to get into the game before the merges. Tortage is at least busy on almost all servers, and the lvl 20-40 is usually at least enough players on to make PvP and PvE intresting.
Once you hit 40 the merges should be done, after that so far the population is thin spread except in Kheshata on most servers.
Off course you can always wait also, never hurted anybody either.
Yupp, and what else is good news. Ohh monster mother of all badd ass content patches is lurking on testlive. Play for your life because you are about to drown in new content. lol
