I am looking for a new mmo to have some fun with. Heres a run down of past games I've played and such:
EVE Online, did for over a year but left after it became too time consuming and stressful when you can lose something that you saved up for a month to buy in less then 5min
Planetside, Loved the shit out of this game but its been dead for years
Silkroad Online, Most loved mmo of all times till it got overran by botters
Tabula Rasa, 2ed most loved mmo of all times but its shutting down in a month or so
WoW, Tried this for 2 weeks, cant stand the techno colors, basic looks and 7year olds plaguing the servers
WAR, I got it off amazon.com for 11$, played it for 10 days and quit, the constant and excessive bugs I came across made game-play unbearable metaforicly and literally speaking
I'm waiting on Aion, but till it comes out I need something to waste my time on so to speak. Also, I prefure pay-to-play games as it has better support and updates, most of the time...
Comments
Try Dungeon Runners if you want a really casual game.
Give LOTRO a try. It should fit the bill for you. Great free updates.
Yeah, it does suck TR is closing.

Also waiting for Aion and in a similar boat. I'm trying Lord of the rings at the moment...but right now I get a feeling similar to that guy who wrote the "Lord of the FedEx thread." -sigh- just doing written work atm, 41,765 words and counting...
I would suggest Age of Conan if you have decent rig to play with. The game is very casual friendly and you can reach max level in a couple of months even with a casual playstyle. AoC had it's share of bugs and incompleteness at launch, but those are mostly sorted by now, and you can level trough 90% of levels by questing if that is what you prefer. The game is low fantasy, has awesome realistic graphics, and has a mature (in years) playerbase; allthough the actual maturity may vary on which server type you choose
I was Gonna say WAR because it is very casual but since u alrdy tried it.... I would say try LOTRO since it's the only game I can think of...that would fit the void u have right now....
*tell me if I am wrong* but is not TCOS out yet ?...perhaps u could try that game it looks fun

Closed beta in Europe, the European version is actually inaccessible to those in NA, you'll automatically be redirected.
I would recommend Runes of Magic for a FTP game though, out Dec. 15th.
LOTRO doesn't have that many collecting or "FedEx" quests, at least not as many as some other *coughwowcough*. There is a horrible delivery quest in the beginning for Elves that has you go back and forth between 3 towns (and they're a good bit away) picking crap up and delivering crap. The reward is crap too. The EXP is good though (over 2k after you finish all the little quests inside the chain).
LOTRO really gets good around 21 though.

Id keep my eyes on Darkfall.
What makes this a casual game is you can hop on for a few hours a week
and still be able to play with your friends who play 8 hours a day.
You never have to worry about being left behind in levels and quests.
Darkfall is NOT for a casual player. You won't be able to hop on a few hours a week and have fun. You will end up getting ganked left and right if you go out just trying to relax and quest.
That's about the same as saying a 32 man UT'99 deathmatch would be a great place for a FPS newbie to start.

Darkfall is alot more than you seem to think it is.
Plus the OP played planetside and loved it so he will do fine.
PlanetSide had/has instanced choice PvP, rooms where you fight. Darkfall has an always on, no safe zone PvP. It takes a lot of knowledge, skill, and work to gain much ground in Darkfall. A casual player, who may not have a lot of skill in the game, and may not want to play it "hard" or really think and concentrate while playing, will probably not make it far.

I suppose. It would depend on his definition of ``casual``. I took it as meaning he didnt want a game like
EQ where you had to commit yourself to hours upon hours of playing in one session.
Id like to add one more thing and that is darkfall is very much a reincarnation of UO and
I for one found UO very casual and solo friendly and that was back in the
Dread Lord days.
