We are all gamers and while the fans for awhile now probably just had more faith and trust in indie developers...there was some reason to be skeptical, though little excuse for people to be actively trying to tarnish DF these days.

Hello there DF fans. Just want to take this oppurtunity to say i apologise for all my sceptism and negative remarks and hope you understand why i did so. I always wanted this game to be real but sadly listened to all the "vaporware" talk and got caught up in it. I hope you understand i felt i had good reason too be sceptical, but still i have to stand up and admit that if this game is released soon ( and if it's delayed a little...who cares! ) then i was truly wrong. well i hope there are no hard feelings and i look forward to joining up with you all in January and having a ton of fun! see you all soon.

I have my fair share of doubts as well, but I dont think skeptesism is a bad thing. It shows we are passionate about good MMO games, and when there is a game that promises so much, there is a "sounds too good to be true" factor.
Whether the game succeeds or not in the end, I still think that they could have handled their customers better. It should be obvious that when your promising so much, there is going to be alot of skeptics until they back up their claims. This has not been a priority for the team, which is a shame because I firmly believe it would be in their best interests to alleivate this doubt.
You would see a much different tone when talking about the game if they did.
Sorry to get a bit off subject, as you can see I am still a bit skeptic, but there is no ill will behind it. I just believe things could be handled better - better for the customers, and better for the game overall.

It seems to me that hey want to do this launch differenlty. Given that there has been such a hysterical mess at many of the recent launches, I say good for them.
I don't see anyone fretting because features in the latest car have been changed or that not enough in depth information has been given for an upcoming new television set?
I don't really see that they have to give any information pre-launch. It could help but it could also hurt. Suppose at the last minute they DO want to remove a class or a city or "whatever". Well then, you won't have a hundred crying players coming to the boards to whinge about the whole thing. They can just do it.
Once they actually release the game then it's up to them to decide how they want to advertise if at all. It would certainly be a different way of going about it if they didn't but as they are the talk of many forums they might not have to do too much.
Now, this is not to say that this isn't the biggest hoax in gaming history. I know, I know... people will jump at that but hear me out. There is obviously "something" there but with so few people playing it there is the possibility that someone might be pulling somone's leg. I'm not saying definitely or most likely I'm saying the possibility exists.
The reason I say this is a recent "Big Foot" Hoax that happened here in the states recently. For those who don't know, Big Foot is a local legend in some areas of the states and is sort of a giant missing link creature. Well, some men claimed that they had a dead "Big Foot" (or sasquatch) and even had pictures of the being in a bathtub filled with ice. They had made announcements on the news, it appeared on CNN and they scheduled a press conference.
One could say "well then, of course they have something since they've gone through all that". It turns out that it was a Big Foot costume in Ice. They escaped, presumably with some money if I remember correctly.
Point being is that in the end no one will really know until it's actually released. I do applaud them for doing it their own way and not caving into player pressure. Hopefully it will be a worthwhile game given the size of the studio (people need to remember this is a small studio).
The game can be judged for itself once it is released.

Why are you assuming they expect people to believe anything they say? They know they're being vague, they know they aren't letting us have much yet. They also said everyone will get to try it before they buy it. And frankly, even though I've been a Darkfall supporter for 3 years and 10 months, I won't buy the game unless I get to try it first, or until we have some good reviewers to confirm it's features.
