wow... very impressive. The developer that was guiding the writer seems like a cool guy. I like the whole idea of having interior battles... like in that asteroid... awesome.

But yeah, gawd, that 3 monitor setup would probably give a lot of people motion sickness with this game lol.

Now that looked pretty darn cool. Will keep my eyes and ears open for more info on this game.

Great video, but I would have loved to see the cockpit view instead of a 3rd person view.

The UI has been changing substantially on a near-monthly basis, so if we'd shown the cockpit view in that video, it would have already gone through another two major revisions since that article appeared on Kotaku.

Old UI shots have a way of surviving on the Net for a very long time, as members of our management team found during the production of Auto Assault.  As a result, I'm afraid we've been very deliberately avoiding release of any video or stills that show the JGE UI/cockpit in its present/alpha form.

I understand, but wouldnt you like some player feedback on what we would like to see and have?

Certainly.  We began building our flight UI based on feedback obtained over years from the original JGC players and testers.  We're also getting huge amounts of input from observing our internal testers and local alpha-test focus groups.  We have every expectation of continuing to further revise the UI based on player feedback obtained during closed beta.

And none of us are so naive to think that an MMO game is "complete" when it releases.  The UI and other elements of the game will surely continue to be revised post-release, so everyone and anyone who ever plays the game will surely have an opportunity to offer feedback.

Yes, there will be joystick control.  If you go to their site, you will find it.  I remember an article saying there will be.

There definitely is joystick support and support for a variety of hardware was a very early consideration. Back in March I played the early alpha client at Connect with an X52 and a mouse + keyboard. The thing that struck me, as a player that HATED the mouse control in JGE's predecessor, was how intuitive and natural mouse control was.

I'll be sticking with my X52 though I suspect
