I find it rather funny how so many people seem to think that SOE, and to some degree Blizzard, are out to deceive, kill, humiliate, -insert horiible action here- everyone. I doubt either of these companies has any personal vendetta against you or I. Just an observation from reading all the posts concerning both companies.

I don't think any MMO company is trying to kill or humiliate anyone... though I do think every MMO company tries to deceive some of their customers.. at least to an extent.
And where did you read that MMO companies were trying to kill people.. lmao.

hyperbole.
Most likely directed at all the histrionics over Blizzard trying to screw people by not starting the open beta as soon as they felt it should be.
No company worth their salt is up to any of those things. Companies have to be able to pay their employee's and if that means pushing a game out there that's not "finished" then they'll do it. Especially since they can patch the game and the patching is *free* as long as you have an account of course. I think alot of people forget that there are people who have families and bills to pay involved with the making of these games. I've met some of the people behind the games and despite all the jaded evil comments from "fanboi's" they're some of the nicest people out there. AND they play these games too! So its not like they don't know or understand the frustration of something not working. Especially if its something they were completely sleepless over for months trying to get it out and work correctly.
Im not saying everyone should be nice, because thats just a fantasy world that everyone is kind. But these games are someone's blood, sweat, and tears. Its basically slapping a hard working artist across the face and telling them their master piece is worthless.

SOE would staple a puppy to a baby if they could make cash off of it and keep it in the dark.
Their business tactics are beginning to catch up with them, however.

I am pictureing myself walking into gamestop or EB and a SOE or blizzard rep walks up behind me with a gun pointed to my head telling me i need to buy there game or else.
That is a bit extreme but i think the only way they can in anyway kill us is buy makeing a kick ass game where we aren't able to get up and eat or drink and slowly die of dehydration and starvation.
Speaking of that has anyone heard about this, don't know if it's fact or rumor? In a internet cafe in Korea a Korean teen died of dehydration from playing CoH when it was released for 5 days straight. Sounds pretty far fetched but i have heard crazier things. Anyone hear about that?

That has happened a number of times, with different people in Korea or asia. They go to internet cafes and play for like 5-9 days straight with no sleep, and fall over dead.
I would assume that some kind of drugs are usually involved as well, and are usually the actual cause of death.

That just amazes me that someone could do that to themselves. I mean grab a cheesburger and a glass of water. Atleast after 3 days or so heh...

No..actually you have it wrong.
They arent out to make money from us. They are actually out to kill some of the people playing the games. You see, its a secret assasination plot initiated by the founders of MENSA to eliminate the mentally challenged in an effort to re-populate the world with non-idiots. Its a known fact that there are more idiots in MMO's than anywhere else on the net. So bribing the game companies to kill off the morons was the perfect ploy!
Its a conspiracy theory!
