I'll start.

I was always intrigued by the enigma machine the nazi's used to send encoded messages to friendly ships and bases.

The allies could crack any code from any enemy but couldn't. They had to steal it to figure it out.

Not saying the Nazi's were awesome in inventing it, but I am saying it was one heckuva encryptor for it's time.

I added the leet because when I signed up here, leet was sorta a new neat tricky thing to do....needless to say it's pretty stupid now lol

But anyways...that's why I choose this handle.

Also, if you are in any mmorpg and you see an enigma say hi, it may just be me lol

Dienekes was a Greek soldier/philosopher who fought in the battle of Thermopylae. I love his philosophy and was one of my favorite historical studies. I deem it a tribute in his honor to roleplay him in MMOs. ::::28::::::28:: Plus it is nice and rare as a name only used by others that know about him. ::::28::

admjn is my name kinda smushed up.  My name is Adam Jay Ne----, thus the admjn. (Will not state my actual full name so I dont get psycho murderer people tracking me down)    The 65 comes from the year that I'm gonna die.

I've been using Eschient {eh'-shee-ehnt} for about 6 years. It wasn't until I had been using it for a few years that I learned it used to be an actual word in medieval French that translates to "coming to". It's where we get the suffix "-escent", which means "beginning to be".

It's my little reminder that I'm only starting to be who I will become.

You know the Barista? The person that makes the coffee at Starbucks? Well, some of my friends went there for coffee before a flight and we were making fun of the barista's columbianish name. Since my name is Kevin I sounded out "KIIIIAHHHMMMDAAAY! The coffee maker from hell!" I spelled it out on paper a week later in a blog and it stuck. Been playing with this name since FFVI

Finwe was the first High King of the Noldor from tolkien lore. His name means skilled one. And he was approximately over 9,000 years when he was killed.

A cool character, and out of my aliases is one of my most favored.

I decided on the 1st 3 chars of first and last name.

Some interesting stories here. I like to get into other people's heads. :) Anyway, my middle name is "Adriel". I never knew how to spell it until I was about 14 years old. I always used to spell it "Adreal" because of the way I pronounced it. I first used it online when I played Gemstone III, and Asheron's Call 1. It's been my online name for a while after that. I've visited a couple sites trying to figure out what "Adriel" means but have had differing answers. At any rate, I pronounce it "Ay-dree-ul". Not "Ad-real". whatever though... image

My main forum name is The Spirit. The Spirit is an everyman hero of the comic book series of the same name; The Spirit. This is written and inked by one of the greatest contributors to the art of graphic novels ever, Will Eisner. The Spirit's only weapons are his fists. His main nemisis is the Octopus.

My other forum names Gus Tarballs and Grunty are mercenaries available for use in your squad makeup for the games Jagged Alliance 2 and JA2: Unfinished Business. Of these two, I prefer Gus Tarballs but his last name is sometimes misunderstood.

My first MMORPG avatar's name is Onne in Asheron's Call. I wanted it to be The One or One but they were denied. About three years later I found out Onne is a real name. A derivitive, or the origin of Anna. I alway wondered why I got gifts from apparently Nordic players. My avatar and I are male. Onne is a female's name. ::::19::

It all began on a stormy nigth... Hehe nope it didnt..

But it all began back in 1994 when me and me brother were living together and were getting dial-up internet for the first time. WooOOoo.. Well we needed to choose a login name there and then and since we both played withe-wolf PnP games umbra was choosen, later it came to be Umbrood.

Umbra is the darkest part of a lunar eclipse and the border is called penumbra.

Umbrood are creatures that dwell in the darkness, more or less.

    I sometimes use:

Dworkin or Dworkin Barimen as well, anyone who can figure were I got that gets a star :)

Well. If that's truly what it means, then I suppose that's what I wanted to know. How can you be sure though unless you've looked into a couple books on latin or have just asked a linguist? Anyway, thanks for looking it up. The definition still differs from the two I've found.image

    Hey umbrood...

I am willing to bet you got the name Dworkin from the book series Chronicles of Amber. Dworkin was the creator of the tarot deck and was oberons father. He was locked in the dungeon because he wanted to destroy the pattern.

This is the only Dworkin I know of.

Drakaeon is a character in one of my books. He is an assassin and quite the smooth talker. In later short stories, he is adapted into a gun user (having previously used two daggers).

Well...I'm not positively sure. But thats what I got from www.babynames.com

And when looking up my name which I previously knew the meaning of. It gave the meaning that I always thought it to be. I have a feeling its fairly accurate. Something could be changed in Translation though.
