EQ2 November 9th!!!!

Well they pushed up the EQ2 release date so I'm ever closer to not having to read WoW trolls bash the game they are so afraid of

How happy are you about them bumping up the release date? I'm STOKED. Can't wait till I'm submersed in those amazing graphics, just got a Radeon X800 pro and more ram

Did you upgrade your computer for EQ2?

I'm pretty happy about it, but I'm going to have to wait to see it actually happen before I get to excited. I bought a whole new computer but it wasn't because of EQ2 it was for gaming in general. My old comp froze up all the time no matter what game I was playing.

If it does come out on the 9th, sweet! I'll finaly have something to do lol

Congrats on the card bit it might be overkill because I heard that lag is rampant. You might not put the full potential of your card to use with this game.

I'm pretty stoked as well about the date being moved up but I hope SOE doesn't have the problems that were rampant in SWG. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

....i am one of the EQ 2 beta tester, i don't know the excatly date for the EQ2 release, but i can tell you this game is not ready yet.

There has been no official statement that the game will be released 9th November .. only gameshops guessing... they have a bunch of showstoppers (severe bugs) in the game right now and i would be very supprised if they dared to say a releasedate before those are gone (the showstoper bugs are REALLY bad).

Well EBgames sent all their customers a note saying it plus if you don't believe that there is a message from Smedley himself on the boards... least what I heard....

Also I am glad it's comming sooner for you guys hell I have yet to even get into OB with WoW but there is little reason to fear EQ2... it's made by the same company that made SWG and EQ... in otherwords greed before need.

I am more afraid people will go buy it just because it came out earlier than anything SOE can do.

That aint really a post that says it IS coming 9th November is it ?

And as i said earlier .. they better not tell us a date or something like that before they fix these EXTREMLY bad bugs that excist now .. (Login failures, random crashes, monsters doing EXTREME dmg when they shouldnt .. and it aint something they seem to be able to fix in a day or two .. these showstoppers came with a BETA patch some weeks ago and they dont really seem to know how to fix them as of now)

I would have been pumped to hear they bumped the release date but since i'm going to be without computer or internet to go snowboarding for a couple months is sort of an even trade off.

I am very excited about the possibility of playing Everquest II on Nov. 9th. I don't know if this will actually happen, though.

I just hope that the game works well, I would rather wait the extra time it requires to fix all of the bugs. If the game is shipped with major bugs and lag, I would be inclined to check out World of Warcraft and play that until Everquest II works better.

That is the beauty of having 2 games like these released at around the same time, if you are not satisfied with on,e try the other! Personally, I really enjoy SOE mmorpgs, but I do understand that they release their games too early with a lot of bugs. While I do not find this acceptable, I do appreciate the effort that goes into making the games better afterwards, so I guess if EQ2 is not 100% come Nov 9th, I will either tolerate it until it improves, or simply play a different mmorpg.

We have a lot of things that we're testing internally before we open them up to you all... and that does include a ton of bug fixes that are underway. The team is closing bugs out at a lightning fast rate. From the outside, when you see login issues it looks like we've taken a step backward.. and I can understand how it appears that way. But the people on this team are stone cold pros who have done this for a long time and are dedicated to making sure EQ2 is an enjoyable experience.

About a week and a half, still haven't had the interest to play closed beta

Yes WoW fans afraid of E2. Have you even seen any of the "EQ2 is for Pooheads" flames about it in the hype section? I encourage you to check out the people you will be playing WoW with. Not pretty in many cases

I will probably play EQ2 just to see if I like it. However, I wish they would delay release and get things fixed rather then try to release before WoW.

There are two reasons I don't want to see the release date moved up.

1.) I am afraid that release quality will be compromised. I have no doubts that they will be fixed soon, but I have had this happen to me before. Having the game loaded on my computer and not being able to play it is deffinitely worse then not having the game at all.

2.) I want to play WoW open beta before I even decide to order my EQ2 discs. If they push up the release date this puts a serious time restraint on the time I test the WoW beta. I was hoping for about 2 weeks to test out WoW as i don't have a ton of time to spend playing each week, and want to give it a fair chance.

Either way I can't wait to play both of these games as I haven't been invited to either closed beta. It might just boil down to which game I can play first. This MIGHT be a smart marketing move by SoE, but it is deffinitely an important one.

And they atleast will match Open Beta with the release date of EQ2 otherwise, I myself is thinking of ^&!) it and just atleast give EQ2 a shot since Wow is taking their sweet stupid time.

SoE is trying to get people to get there game because it was released first. All Blizzard has to do is Open Beta and it will completly counter them. Not a single alot of EQ2 beta testers think it is ready for launch. I played WoW stress test and a few months ago WoW was ready.... This is going to backfire on SoE.
