SelekSelek Member Posts: 236

Im a old AO player who only took a break a few months before AI came out. and after hearing some stuff about AI im not sure if I even want it. I will come back with or without AI.. just wondering if its worth my money.

While I'm sure you're looking for feedback from players and not Funcom people I guess I can say that similar threads on our own forums end up with recommending it if you're in (or plan to join) an active org with some resources (or the willingness to get them).

If you're not, the general opinion seems to be to wait until other ways of encountering aliens are implemented - which is something the devs are currently working on. Then again, some want it just for the org city itself, or even just the clothing. Depends on your personal taste in the game. ::::19::

I myself quit playing AO a few months ago (sorta a break, the path to uberness is long and hard...)

Anyway, I'v been considering getting AI aswell. I belong to an org with only like 150-200 members, so im really wondering what they are doing. I reformatted and dont have any way to contact them without resubscribing again...maybe Cz could help me out here ::::31::

Not much I can do there I'm afraid. Don't they have any org forums or contact e-mail?

I was only in the org for like a month or two, but im sure they would remember the name Iroq. I was in Black Lotus, (171 martial artist) lead by Bishman, Im sure if you mentioned the name Iroq name to him, Ferrents, Valoth, Szsn or Damonarduina they would remember me.

We never had a site, i was told a few e-mails but never wrote them down, my only contact with them was on TS2 and the game itself, till i cancled and ended up reformatting and cant remember the TS2 server IP.

Im thinking about comming back to AO but im really low on the income since my work hours have been literaly cut in half and dunno if buying AI and resubscribing would be such a good idea till i find a new/second job.

wow after alot of problems can actually post :) Ok but back to topic : This game is very active m8 and I can tell you that even thou I finished playing it some time ago (like 1-2 months ago) it is one of the best mmog that there is . Don't try to remember it as the old AO that was in beta or right after beta . Now this game is ALOT better , almost no bugs and 3 expansion packs that give alot intoo the game .. I belive they got a trial now so just go ahead and download it and I can tell you that if you like sci-fi mmog you will very much like this game .

    I think so....

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

AI is "ok" , though it suffers from the usual unFuncom obsessions of camping for loot ( with poor to medeocre drop rates ) and grinding levels ( from endless repetative hecklers , once you hit 220 you can do it all again on aliens ) .

The lag in player cities varies from pretty bad to "omg its a tower fight" but since most people are so bored of repeatedly running missions for a small chance of an item needed to repair city control towers its marginally improved , because so few people use the cities .

Active.... oh yeah, defently. I have been playing Ao since launch, and I still love it. Ofcourse its not all perfect, but I will recommend people to try it out. Especially if you are in a rather large guild. Then Ai is pretty fun.....wihtout the guild.....well, maybe you should wait as Cz mentioned. however, there is still a lot of fun you can do on Rubi-ka nd shadowland witout the large guild though- image

main issue i got with AO is it extreme lack of prof unbalance. some profs are basicly god mode, others are at ebst cannon foder in pvm AND pvp.

funfact: its known for 2 years at least and nothing been done. ah wait, they added some extremly useless items to those profs, like a food making machine for traders ( W T F ?) or  a range debuff for the dead nt profesion , a nano that wont land, breaks on 1st dmg(after u lad it a month after u started chain casting) and best part is even when it lands, it wont make any diffrence in range since its extremly weak.

i can deal with plenty of bugs in AO. i can deal with axp being a campfest and a boring one. i can deal with the heck grind, already did, hated every sec, but did. but those things, making profs unviablle to play was and is AO`s main issue imho.
