Um, While I can agree somewhat to that, Molten Core was hardly *the* place to be for the bulk of the populace 3 months into the game, heck maybe a few percent of the players were anywhere close to possibly regular raiding of MC at that point most likely. WAR's endgame, the fortress sieges and beyond are something that's affecting a *much* larger percentage of the players, heck, it totally removes the point of moving zonecontrol between the sides.
I love how all the fanboys of WAR unite to try to discredit and say I must somehow hate the game or something. Guys - I have 6 toons and am heavily involved with the game. I like it - but I hate the crap that's happening. Get a clue before you post some fanboy argument of how I'm some troll that hates the game and wants it to fail. I want it to GET FIXED, not fail. I think your mommies and daddies need to help you understand the difference.

lol...I dont need a Wall-of-text to say that you OP are trolling hard...I never had any problem with Mythic...I did hear about the horror stories of AoC/Funcom but Mythc/WAR is far away from that...they implement what they promise and they give a good client support ( I guess because like I said I never had any problem)

I like WAR, but not too happy with Mythic.
Dont even compare the two. Just Don't. FUNCOM was a bit overwhelmed back in the launching days, but was never able to pull off the big fcking Scam MJ with team have done. Now, Mythic lovers and WAR lovers, sorry if I piss you off here with my harsh words. Let me however tell you my story:
Ok, so I joined AoC pretty early, like beginning of June. I played the game and it was pretty ok. I was actually not that fond of Tortage and that area. The instancing there was also x10 more hefty than any other place in the game. On the side of all this I also had low FPS and other glitches every now and then. It was still somewhat ok though. Then finally I came to the areas after Tortage. My god I started to love this game. The world out there is really well made and I really enjoyed the bigger zones, all the combat and the good storyline. I did this more or less over the whole summer. However, performance did not seem to get much better. many bugs were still around, PvP...everything was delayed bigtime. Finally it got to me and I decided to put my sub on hold. I purchased WAR and was pretty pumped to get going there. However last night before WAR opened their doors I was playing the brand new PvP patch that came out for AoC... And BAM!!! OMFG how much they cleaned up performance and bugs with that patch. I remember the forums were ranting for weeks over that patch. That last night was just insanely active, with people everywhere PvPing and going nuts basically... I was at that point sure that I will come back to AoC. I did not realize that it would happen that fast though.
So next day I got WAR fired up... First I thought I had done something wrong because it crashed during character customization. I mean FCK, my rig is fairly ok, and when I played AoC post patch 2.0 with FPS >25 on high, this would not be something I expected from this game. Anyway it happened over and over again before I was even able to get much further than level 4. It was insane, FPS as low as 2-3, horrific lag, and damn crash... 2-3 days into the game I was pretty much as frustrated as frustrated can be. I had changed all drivers, shut down all applications beside WAR, firewall, virus...yadayadayada.. It did not help. Well now, here comes the worst part. I went to the forums, to talk to other people about this. And Fanboiism was reeeeeeeking all over the place. I was shot on the spot (with the other guys stupid enough to open their mouth). I even tried to get a thread going over here, in hope that the topic could be discussed. But NO, I was FCKing banned for 2 weeks and got multiple warnings....LOL. Now when the truth are known it is more accepted to say this, but what the hell is this for a practice. Running a Nazi show for the public with no Official forum to hinder disappointed customers to speak out about the truth of the game, and also extend that even over in other forums (I don't know how they were able to but it happened). And then MJ would just keep showing up to piss all over my face and tell me that his game was the best MMO launch ever. FCK that guy piss me off. What piss me even more off is that the swindler still pulls that shit over in Eurogamer and other places. Journalists just act like idiot and propagate the misinformation all over the place to continue the scam. WTF? Look I am easy to exite, but there are few things that piss me so much off that Mythic. They knew what they did, they knew that their product was not all that great for some people, decided to impede bad news by having no official forum and then relied on the marketing machine too kee things rolling (Why do you think they all of a sudden think it is a good idea open a forum in January, Four months after launch). They have been partially successfull with their scam (I would say so when Eurogamer still claim that WAR was one of the smoothest MMO launches ever...LOLOLOLOLOLOL), I just hope that the truth keep getting out there till the point me and other victims get some sort of retaliation (It's childish, but hell what is wrong about having normal forum where people can talk, where their God damn CEO does not show up all the time to drop off some infantile flaming posts of guys that have problems with the game).
Needless to say I am over in AoC playing now. Enjoying it fully after FC got up to snuff. So to end this Rant, FunCom sure as hell disappointed many people over the summer of 2008, me being one of them, but at least they seem to work on this game in a very commited fashion. I see few compromises with quality and just a very sincere efford to clean out all the little annoyances even though it does not give the most marketing for the dev-time. If something is broken, it sure as hell get fixed. And..., they had the balls to have an open forum in the worst possible times (namely launch). Again, you are comparing FunCom that disappointed a lot of players to FCKing-off-the-wall-spit-in-your-face-bendover-Mythic.

This is because the two games are designed quite differently. WAR's end game is inclusionary, meaning everybody has access to it, while WoW's Molten Core was very much exclusionary, something only a very few actually managed to gain access to. So in WoW, some players couldn't get into Molten Core simply because of the ridiculous access requirements, which was part of the intended design, while those that did have access couldn't actually do it anyway, so they never actually felt the issues there.
WAR's fortress sieges are something anyone can turn up to as soon as they happen, and everyone has access to open RvR at any time, so it being broken at the fortress sieges is felt considerably more. Design-wise, I much prefer WAR's setup, as it's a lot more social and epic. But it needs to be working. And it will, eventually, even if it's a pain right now. For me that's enough, mostly because there isn't really any MMO out there other than WAR that actually interests me.
Part of the problem with the fortress sieges also actually IS that anyone can show up, because that's what people are going to do once a city starts coming under siege. It will be worse as the player base slowly shifts into tier 4. Perhaps fortress siegies will need to be instanced? I don't think it's realistic to expect thousands of players to be in the same zone without crashing the server. I have a hard time seeing them not spreading the population out somehow, whether across instances or perhaps across pairings.

You're saying that only because you didn't get into a MC guild : /
I'm saying it because it had ridiculous access requirements.
You do realise Blizzard have been consistently reducing the amount of players needed to enter end-game raid instances since launch? Do you think they simply did that at random without any thought? MC was 40 man. No more, no less. Now, in WotLK, you have 10-man versions of the raid instances, with the maximum being 25 man, considerably less than back then.
A harsh lesson learned by Blizzard, especially from Naxxramas pre-WotLK, is that it's no good designing content that no one is playing. This is why they're decreasing the difficulty and access requirements of end-game instances. Why waste resources on content no one is going to play? They've taken it a bit too far with WotLK in terms of difficulty, but I'd be surprised if they don't get on the right track and up the difficulty somewhat when the next raid instance is released. When you deal with perishable content you need to make it difficult enough so the players take a while to complete it. It can be difficult to get it "just right".
Luckely there are also players who like more than one game. In fact I find WoW ok, War ok, EvE ok, GW ok, AoC ok, Chronicles of Spellborn (for those who havent seen it yet, just try it for free..) ok, LotRo ok, so I play or played all of them for a while or longer.
And no, I don't like them all for the same reason. All of them have different interesting feautures and all of them have different not so interesting features. And honestly I don't care if a game has 10.000 or 10.000.000 subscribers as long as it is fun.
No, Mythic isn't Funcom. They built a decent game, (not to my tastes, but hey) and they've tried very hard to resolve issues as they've come up.
No, they don't trumpet issues they are researching, nor do they see the need to constantly fall on their swords when people find problems, and I think they are providing good support for their game.
Funcom built up a wall of deception, and they knew what they were doing. No comparison in my book.

Warhammer will never dominate the market because the game does not have the foundation or mechanics to be a truly great game or market leader. Its far to linear and that was the biggest killer for me. People get bored when a game doesn't have true open world or enough side activities to get involved in like player housing etc. IMO WAR is just a fad that will hold people's interest until something truly worth hanging on to comes along. DF or whatever, who knows.
While I agree that Mythic has not quite done Funcom-like disasters, they have made their share of serious mistakes and not owned up to them. Instead, they have allowed the fanboi base to consistently blame other players for playing the game 'wrongly'. That is reprehensible and Mythic should have said something. They should have warned people looking for a true PvP game without limits that this just was NOT going to be that kind of game.
And while I agree quite a bit with the above post that WAR is a transistional game for most people (until something better comes along), reading it outloud does make Warhammer seem like Purgotory lol. Its neither great nor bad.
Will Mark Jacobs still have his job 4 months after WAR's release? If so then Mythic is not the new Funcom. Funcom is still the new Funcom.
If the OP is concerned with how Mythic is handling the game, they should emphasize thier points and examples not make inapplicable comparisons to other companies.
WoW is going to go into freefall quite soon, once people get bored at 80, which will take only a couple of weeks After that, Warhammer will dominate as the only mass-market MMO with some challenge and proper rewards for skilled PVPers WoW had its time, it's now just an old, boring game with nothing new and a skill curve made for noobs and housewives - and it will be over soon In any case, the thread was about Warhammer Alliance Forums - which is a fan forum, and nothing to do with Mythic. It's like blaming Mythic for the moderation on MMORPG.com or something
Yeah, maybe someday WOW will have to close down 60% of their servers like Warhammer. But no time soon... last week they launched another round of new servers to keep queues to a minimum. WOW has apparently been dying for 4 years, but someone forgot to tell the players who keep buying the game.
Take a look at any top sales chart. There are about 4 different versions of WOW, including the very original game that is ranked higher than Warhammer in new box sales.
WOW hasn't even peaked yet
That may have a ring of truth to it.
This past Sunday I did a check of WOW servers and found 52 low pop servers and only 2 with a queue, out of about 232 servers. Close to 25% low pop. Seems rather silly to launch new servers with this many low pop ones out. Or, maybe they may have over anticipated the amount of players for the Lich King, but decided to launch them anyway since they had them available.

no way mythic could be as bad a funcom, mythic came out with dark age of camelot, daoc is one of the greatest mmorpgs to ever exsist, even if warhammer isnt that great (which is ok cause its not bad and getting better in a time when almost every mmorpg blows except WoW or is very old FFXI,Lineage II ect)

This SO needs to be in someone's sig.
QFT.
Think Grey got carried away there. WoW in freefall? that ain't happening in a loooong long time.
the only mmo that can or will every top wow is another game made by blizzard its really that simple. As for WoW free falling that won't happen untill the mmo genre is dead
Haha, so Warhammer is a bad MMO because you don't have to grind forever and no single class totally rapes every other class?
Warhammer has been about the most balanced I've seen a PvP based MMO be. Sure Bright Wizards and Knights were a little overpowered for a while. But Mythic has already either fixed those discrepencies or has at least made attempts to tone up or down classes to make them fun in PvP.
What is the FotM class in WoW? Is it back to Warlocks wiping out entire groups again? Warriors two shotting everybody? I hear Druids have about 40k hitpoints now.
The nice thing about Warhammer is a month from now my gear won't be yesterdays news.
Warhammer is the only MMO since DAoC that I have played a character to max level. I'm even having fun
going through the grind again with 4 characters at the same time. A level 1 character impacts the end game in warhammer just as much as a level 40 character.
Dunno, Warhammer has about everything I'd want in an MMO.

I would've been surprised if there wasn't any comments from:

chryses (Tabula Rasa fan, sorry to hear it gets plug pulled. I hope you have new addiction already.)
CobraSolidus (FunCom viking, persistent and focused. Thumbs up, althought I disapprove the means.)
To OP: FunCom is special in a way no one can beat. So, Mythic can't be new FunCom.

It's just... there.

It will be interesting to see how long EA put up with it bearing in mind it's recent results

It would be a shame if EA closed down before they had a chance to see if they could turn it around...

I vote he puts it in his sig.

no way mythic could be as bad a funcom, mythic came out with dark age of camelot, daoc is one of the greatest mmorpgs to ever exsist, even if warhammer isnt that great (which is ok cause its not bad and getting better in a time when almost every mmorpg blows except WoW or is very old FFXI,Lineage II ect)
and this is only mythics 2nd mmorpg
then i dont see how you can compare the two
This SO needs to be in someone's sig.
