Closed Beta started!
Ok ladies and gents you have until the 12th dec to register with RFO to be welcomed into the CLOSED beta if you fail to do so you will be lucked out until january+.
Remember all characters in the beta test will be wiped so dont invest your life into it just yet.

i thought CM werent going to pay CCR for the server's (well the amount CCR wanted)

considering the timelime thats more CM spin I believe. about a week before the CM servers closed CCR announced the reopening with closed beta starting mid december. Thats a pretty short turn around to get the whole game translated and set up for global service. not saying it couldnt be done but sounds more like it was planned. kind of fits into CCR not patching CM's version, why bother if you are just taking it back anyway.
There is a rumor floating around that CCR is not going to renew any other RF licenses when the current ones run out. completely taking the game back into thier hands.
How do i register for it, just sign up for an account on the site or what?
Im looking forward for this one!! I was playing in the old servers, but then got caught in a senseless ban due to being playing outside the US, I was around 40 at that time
Ill be downloading the client tonight, I might even freeze my Anarchy Online pay account

what are they testing thou. I thought CCR had the latest up to date version of RFO since they're the owners.
In short its a blank canvas restart, they are taking the korean client and doing a complete translation from that, however while the client is being converted to Western languages some *things* can go wrong, an example i can give you now is there is an animation bug for the meth sandworms (or Mass sandworms from the old client).
This will pretty much have everything the korean client has, seems it might even be gearing up for the lvl 60 gear too.
Oh and also the Codemasters client was so indifferent from the Korean version that CM even posted themselves that CCR had to make independant patches for there version of the client.
Oh I see. Well I can't wait.
