I just got my computer back from getting upgraded, 1 gig ram, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, AMD Athlon XP 2400. I install the CC disk and it is working somewhat less than admirably. It is real dark and when I get to the screen to select your race I can only see the options on the right side of the screen, the left side of screen is just black. Can anyone shed any light on this as I am dying to make a character.

Not sure what is the exact problem but:
Play with options in CC proggy see if you are using correct adapter etc.
Go to MS web update and check if you are missing any updates (particulary DX 9c)
If you are using drivers from previos card uninstall them, go to ATI site and install latest driver.
If everything is up to date check your display properties if you have correct color depth, DX settings (hardware acceleration) etc.

Try uninstalling CC, then run something called NFR <Nasty file remover> to remove old vid drivers, <if ya vid card was a Nvidia>. Then run a registry cleaner, reboot, turn norton anti-virus off, re-install CC.
This is what I had to do when I removed my nvidia 5600fx, for the 9800 pro.
sounds like your drivers Vine... Try the following link for your update bro. (hope that helps)

Glad to know you fixed the problem.
A common problem when you upgrade the computer is the old drivers are a bit of a mess.If not installing a new HD then you need to reformat the HD and then install the new driver for the new Gcard.
You can eliminate the drivers manually without a reformat but usually its a good idea anyhow to reformat at least once a year so i usually take the chance to do this as i upgrade my Gcard on one of the computers every year.

Actually, for myself and at least 2 other people I know, the NEWEST ATI drivers were awful! They screwed everything up! Those are 4.10 I believe
So I had to uninstall those and put on the old ones, I had 4.9, but the one's prior to that work fine as well.
