My first time experience joining the free league

I'm a relunctant free league joiner because I've always felt that I haven't levelled up enough to join, blah, blah. But, I finally gathered up my courage and finally joined one today. Enjoying it so very much!!!! Out of 7 battles, I won my 4!! I didn't know that your party's HP and MP will be restored after a batte and it was nice! To me, reviving dead allies is definitely one of the downsides of losing... Anyway, because of this, I vow to enter free leagues more often (because it feels frickin' good to win!).

You don't have to worry in losing in free leagues because the mercenaries will be automatically reset. That is the same with your opponents. Also, you can't use scrolls while in the free league. And also, I noticed that our might increased whenever in free leagues.

I guess using scrolls is prohibited in PvP because scrolls are hard to find. You will also learn how to switch places in the free league. Because if you don't, your team will be easily penetrated. That is one good strategy to avoid losing in the free league.

there are some scolls you can use in the free league like the silence and mana drain  i guess, but the scolls of vortex, and reinforcements etc cant be used.. it is stated in the info when you put your mouse pointer on the item..

my first freeleage, i scored 3 wins -2 losses, hahah i had to leave then, haha found out there were players lower than my level but are stronger than me, what a shame hahaha

waaaah! free league! it sucks for me. i didn't know that you can move up the division ranking eventhough you're not entering the league. lol.

and this is what had happened... i incidentally pressed the apply button and i got into the league. since i was in the 16th division without having any free league experience, i lost my games. and now, i have to really lose and lose over and over again for me to get down the division rankings.

anyway, i still don't have time for the free league because i am currently enjoying the quests. lol! i hope you guys continue to enjoy playing. lols! rock on!

The reason is that your level is  too high for that division so once you join the FL and win even a single match you will automatically transfer to the division that suits your level...

Eh, personally I only have done a few matches, to see how it was (and cause of said prizes they were offering real life-wise.). Put it simply. I didn't like it.

The main reason, I'll admit, is that my 'leader' character, my main so to speak, is a swordsman, and has to be in the front row to do anything (he's also my most geared person out of my mercs). So, one of two things occur.

    1) The team I'm playing against doesn't know much on how it works, and spreads out damage, while I focus on removing any protection from their main while putting pressure on their 'healers' to keep them from fullhealing the main.

    or

    2) They focus fire like mad on my main and in a few turns, he dies, the rest of my team runs away, and I lose. Not fun.

I wouldn't quite mind losing so much if the 'tokens' I was getting from each match was used for more than getting small bits of cash. I also wouldn't mind it if it took more than downing one person just to win. I feel like I'm forced to use a ranged character and push him as far back into my group and have as much heavily armored people between him and the opposing team.

i dont do free league much anymore for i am to poor to constantly lvling up my weapons and armor since i can get new weapon and armor for each merc atleast once a week so to get all my weapons and armor to a +5 even would cost millions and millions a month

I tend to stay away from free league.  I like weekly championships and nation vs nation battles for my pvp

Of course it's important leveling up our gears, but our weapons should be used in the right way. For example, 2 days ago i won against a lv98 axe main (and I'm 81) that didn't played well his cards and now i'm advanced to div.11

This is one of the best feature in Atlantica. There's no "perfect and winning (on paper) team", there's only good player vs. bad player

P.S. Sorry form my broken english lol ...

Eh I can argue against that. More like

"There's no "perfect and winning (on paper) team IF your main isn't melee".

Trust me, in the time i played, i did well over 10-15 matches, and won none. Why? Because they focus fired my poor swordsman main down. No skill, just a complete, utter zerg on one person. So I'm curious what is your main, as that can be a huge part in determining it.

To the person who just posted, part of his success IS that his main isn't a melee unit, he can keep him packed away in the back. The game isn't balanced. The simple fact that losing your main forces you to lose is the major issue. You MUST have a ranged person to be good at pvp in the game, otherwise you'll be stuck doing either

    A) Keeping your main locked away in the back of the group (most likely meaning you can't use your best geared person)

    or

    B)Dying... and dying alot...

I was a ranged main, a gunner  and i lost tons of matches, although i had Chaos Wind (the most dangerous AoE skill, if maxed).

And now i'm an happy Axe user  my prophet and my monk heal me every turn, i've ~6k Hp, and i've ~9k on physical defence. Sniping my main is pretty useless, imho

Learn to move your main character at the right time.

I think it is D key.

A green grid will light up, just hit the position you want to change with. (not your healer lol)

And why is your sword main useless when he's not in 1st row?

He can attack from every position just the same.

Ranged mains still take *normal* damage from gunners, archers etc. which hurts a lot more than being a melee.

  • CursedseiCursedsei Member Posts: 1,012

I know you can move the main, but while i was doing the events, i had accidently switched him into the second row, and the next turn or so, it wouldn't let me use him to attack.

And I'm not saying that ranged mains are invincible, but its better having someone who can only be attacked by being exposed or by another ranged, then by someone who can be targeted by everyone and their grandma.
