Have they addressed the loot issues?

I quit shortly after realease when they nerfed bosses to make it impossible to solo bosses even 10 lvls below you and effectively kill the ability to farm.

Aside from that the loot was a mess. Items looking the same at lvl 20 as they did at 60, items at 30 having better stats then items at 50.

I was wondering if anyt of these issues have been addressed. I would like to come back to try the game but would be reluctant to do so with decent loot available.

It's cleaned up some, e.g. with some new very nice crafted stuff that both looks good and got good stats (second best to raided). Items still have quite low impact on overall stats and the looks aren't diverse enough. They are adressing it though, with a rebalance of items. What will happen is that the "stat budget" of items will go from about 25% of total stats to 50%. This isn't in yet though, and I think this is a change that will stay on the test live server for a long time before going to live. My guess is it will be close to spring before this is ready and bug free on live servers. Hope I'm wrong though.

So if itemization was one of your biggest issues, I would wait until they get that fix in. Good loot will affect your character a great deal more then as the difference between bad and good loot will be larger.

Nope some of these changes have been implemented.

Not nearly enough changes have been made, and it will take much more time for them to be tested and implemented.

This from the game's director on 14 November regarding itemization:

"Lastly for today I wanted to give an overview of where we are at with the work on the itemization and statistics in the game. As I mentioned in my first letter we are already working on this area extensively. Our systems team is currently implementing the redesigned system and adjusting the formulas and templates for the various items and abilities. We hope to have the new systems available for public testing before the end of the year with a view to it going live sometime in the new-year (depending on how the testing and feedback cycles go of course). There is a lot to consider in these changes and it will require extensive testing, both internally and externally. We want to make sure that it is a positive development for the game, and finds the right balance between the power of items and statistics while still maintaining the pace and compelling nature of our combat system."

So, fixes on itemization are still very much a work in progress, no matter how the deceptive fanbois' obligatory "nope, it's all fixed, nothing wrong now, patch changed the whole game, it's all brand new" try to make it appear.

No, they haven't. Item stat budget is the same now as it was on release. Sure they have released some items and models, but regarding the big rebalance nothing is out on live or test live servers yet.

The loot drops were one of the biggest dissapoinments for me when playing also. Since that affects all levels of play you would think that would be a big priority.

    I miss DAoC

Actually there was so much wrong in important stuff that almost EVERYTHING was top priority.

No content >40,worse performance I had ever had in a game ever (mainly crashes and lag spikes), the appaling itemization of course, broken dungeons, broken sieges, awful crafting, clunky UI etc.etc. Not to mention all the broken promises (dx10, bar brawling anyone?, MASSIVE sieges yea right), which coupled with the worst patching ever made this the worst release in the history of MMOs IMO.

They've fixed a good part of these which is to be expected after around 8months of the release but there's still much work to be done. Well looks like it's Itemization's turn now. How are people paying for this game is beyond me.

Even though some of your points are valid about the situation at launch, most are highly exaggerated and are no longer valid. There allways was content above lvl 40, but there were lvling gaps. The gaps up to lvl 74-75 has mostly been filled now, and if you do every group quests you can allmost get to 80 by questing alone.

Performance has had a huge boost, and the game runs flawlessly for the most of us. It's been a long time since I heard anyone have serious trouble with performance.

The itemization has had some upgrades and updates (city armour, culture armour, and better and more varied loot in general), but there still is some work to be done in that part

The dungeons that were broken have all been fixed. Only a very few has some minor issues related to them. Some dungeons have received complete revamps and overhaul and a new one has been introduced.

Sieges have received a lot of love in patches the last few months and are working good now, bar some minor issues.

Crafting is the area that IMO was most broken at launch. It has received some updates and changes, but there still is a lot work to be done in this area.

The lastest patches in AoC has been really good and nothing like the ones we saw this summer. They are not rushing things now, and it really shows by the number of bugs that slip trough, which is not many.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but this game really gives me what I want in a MMO, and I'm more than happy to pay for this. And seing the improvements being made in every patch, I'm not planning going anywhere else in the foreseable future.

Well I was stating the problems that were present at launch. I'm aware that a lot of those have been fixed and it's to be expected after so long.

I've been following the game closely after the new game director steadied the sinking ship.

I should have said "how are people paying for this company" instead after all the lies, false advertising, unprofessional behavior (stealth patches etc.). Really FC disgusted me to no end. Some stuff are barely believable like changing the horse's price for like 3patches in a row, or the stacking gems "fix". These issues should not have happened.

It's possible that I might try this game again some day. Not yet though.
