    woot first poster again.....

you know sometimes it confuses me on blizzards decisions and thought process.

They say they hate gold sellers and power levelers, people who hack accounts.

so they set up their own little market, charging as much as a month of gametime to switch servers, change your look, and even change your NAME.

if it was ever easier to hack someones account, and get away with it, it would be now.

    I play all ghame

I don't have any problem with paid services, especially paid services such as this.

I think all games should have something like this provided that they offer enough choices.

edit: well I tried to see what they offered but I get to the credit card info part before I can see the choices. I am not wondering if they are offering additional choices or just allowing players to change from the already preexisting choices?

    edit 2: Bah! no fun...

Are there any brand-new faces, horn styles, or other cosmetic options available only through Character Re-Customization?

No. The face, skin color, and other cosmetic options available through Character Re-Customization are the same as those already available to players at character creation.

huh... I guess the $164,890,000 a month or so they get from subscription dollars isn't enough.  Go figure...

Way to go Blizz!  Do whatever is possible to milk every last cent out of your subscribers.   WoW is now the official game for those with dough to spend and who like the least amount of challenge.

I'm happy that they offer this service if you really want to change everything about your character, I'm also happy that you cant get new features by paying extra cash, that would be far to close to a RMT setup for me. Not that I'm going to use it, I spend enough time working out a character's style before I play them and barbershop works fine for a change of hair styles if I get bored.

Sounds like every other company out there.

some people really complain about everything. If they don't offer the feature  they whine about not being able to do something. now blizzard does offer the feature people still complain.

I think blizzard did a good job getting this feature working. (and i don't think it helps people get away with hacking since account name doens't get changed and your character names get updated on everyones friends/ignore list so it's not that hard for people to figure out who you were.)

I really dont see an issue for what they are doing. They only make that much money because thats how many people play and pay their monthly fee's. I can't imagine the amount of work that foes into maintaning the servers and hardware on a regular basis, nor the process thats needed to completel these transactions, but people are paid to see them through, hence they charge for them. Blizzard has every right to do so and I think thet are cool paid features they offer.

    Was about time!

We all want this to be a free feature but there woul be too much abuse of it.

I really like the way they do it: for 15$ you can even change your character name and sex!

I hope this is only a start and in the future WoW characters look won't be locked by item stats but item aspect.

Anyway this won't bring me back in till they get rid of BOP and their stupid RAID loot distributiion  system.

    and one time in band camp.... geez you young folks talk about hacking as if you knew something about it, first of all one thing has nothing to do with the other, the primary reasons accounts get hacked are based on natural selection;

    1. login name = password

    2. provide third party sites like ige/gamepal ..etc .. with your full account information

    3. loging in from a rogue PC at a internet cafe or facility that hosts WoW

    4. login from the PC of a friends friend of a friend just to show off your toon

    5. installing 3rd party software for "gains" in game.

... i can go on, but i doubt  you can relate.

    1) About dang time.  This is something that people have been requesting for quite a while.  (Now if only they could do something about the fact that hunters still can't tame basilisks and pterrordax...)

    2) Considering that people have been requesting this for quite a while (and being told "there's no plastic surgery in Azeroth!") I'm surprised at all the complaints about it.  (There was a Shel Silverstein poem about a girl who begs for a fur coat, then complains that it attracts fleas...appropriate metaphor.)

    3) The reviewer didn't need to mention tauren horns and night elf tattoos.  If those are your only complaints with how your character looks, you can just go to a barber shop.

This is another reason I quit WOW. Not only is Blizz greedy beyond any company I know they charge for everything. They brag about having 10 million active subscribers which is a lie. I would say if you minus the cancealed accounts and gold farmers they might have about 3-5 million subscribers. That is still a good number and alot of money they get from monthly fees. They still try to do anything to get money from their subscribers. Alot of other mmo companies reward their subscribers even though they have less subs then Blizz but no not Blizz  they just try to pull more money from their people. I would think since they brag about their millions of subscribers they would reward their veteran subscribers with stuff like COH, LOTRO and other major mmo's do. I swear Blizzard is like the oil company in which they do anything to make them self richer off of the people who made them big.

Its all pretty superficial stuff imo.  None of the paid features seem like anything that effects gameplay.

Okay....I've been playing WoW since release, and for the better part of four years with the exception of one short break I took midway through my third year, and even I think this is effing retarded.

    BOO BLIZZARD.

I'm really starting to think that before long....the other games I sub to are going to start getting even more of my time.  I'm really enjoying the expansion.  Tonight I've been killing dragons and rescuing puppies (yeah, I know....what can I say, I'm a girl).  I'm loving the expansion.  But THIS.....there's no excuse for this.  This service could EASILY be offered as a free service, particularly to their loyal player base.

That's another gripe I have.  At least EQ2 rewards me for being a loyal subscriber for 4 years!  I get all KINDS of cool stuff each anniversary of my subscription.  Blizzard?  Nope...nada...zip.  They just keep coming up with ways to take more of my money.  Although, I do have to say that EQ2 gets their fair share as well with all the daggum expansions.  Good gawd....they have more expansions that Emelda Marcos has SHOES.

This is not a very bright idea if you ask me. I look at this as a failed attempt of keeping of with the genre of character customization that newer games such as Aion is coming out with. The only problem is Bliz is charging people????? wth is up with that? why charge for something that should rightfuly be apart of your monthly subscription? Even if I wanted to make customization changes I certainly would not pay $15 to do it. This could have easily been a free addition.

If I want a newer look I'll just play another game, not pay $15 for tatoo markings that I may eventually get tired of seeing eventually and want to change again which would require another $15....totally NOT worth it in any way, shape ,or form. If they want to keep up with the growing trends then they will compete for real and make this a free part of the monthly subscription. Of course this is just my opinion, but no matter how much you change your toons apearance you will still be the same job, and class, have the same exact abilities and the same professions as you did before you wasted that money, I think the barber shop idea they came up with is fine and one main reason is because it's apart of the game, why not just make this an upgrade to the barber shop they added and charge us gold in the game? I would rather pay 50-100 gold for a make over like this than spending $15....makes no sense to me, no thnx, they can keep that.

This is a good service. I like the idea of it. When I first subscribed I just threw my first character together, and this would let me properly fix him. But, $15 just for that? Don't get me wrong, I fully expect to pay for a service like this. And I'm fine with that. But $15? Ten. Ten! Not fifteen. It may seem silly, me quibbling over five bucks but come on.. It's just skin color and whatnot. I fully support the idea, but I think they're overcharging for the service. Ya know what? I changed my mind. I think it should be a $5 service. That's right. If it were five bucks, I'd sign up right now. I mean, the character I want to change isn't even my main... $15? WTF?

Not only that, but any charge outside of monthly fee that affect gameplay in any form like that options is typical only for low budged games that its main form to support the game. From all out monthly fee charges that sound reasonable is maybe only server transfer. That step just tell again how greedy Blizzard are...

When I first saw the name of the title, I thought they would add something in-game to do this, but then 15$ yea, I knew it was too good to be true :D.
