Well..Here I am again trying another MMO...Tried Eve..don't like the interface at all..Has anyone else tried Vendetta..?..If so what are your impressions of the game.....?
I just saw the whole beta key thing on the main page. So I decided to go to there site as im always looking for a good sci-fi game. The whole look of the game gives me the feel of eve just a bit less refined I however don't know how the controls are set up or anything like that. So I say if you think you might like something just go for it only thing you can waste is a few hours of your life...
Definitely try Vendetta-Online, they got a trial and personally (although I do not currently play it) it is the best space MMO right now. The controls are twitch-based more fps style controls. Try it out, make sure you follow the tutorials though since sometimes it can get a bit confusing.
Crafting is limited at the moment (four developers, what can you do?) with a few missions/mission trees that give you lists to collect and build items.
I've played the game for a few years and I have to say it's more appealing than any other pay-to-play MMO I've come across. PvP is skill based allowing the player to fully control the ship movement. The game is gearing up to add more content and updates frequently (weekly mostly). The community is fun to interact with and can be considered among the most mature I've come across.
Give the 30 day-trial a whirl and see what you're missing.
Is there faction vs facton fighting ? How is death handled in pvp ? xp loss...full loot ? ? Can one not fight at all ?
Yes, there is faction vs faction fighting between the red & blue (Itani & Serco) that can take place just about anywhere players can get to but there are main events such as Border Skirmish and Capture the Cargo.
Death is quite simple, when you die you lose your ship and all cargo & equipment on board. You are then sent back to your home station which is wherever you can set it. Essentially you lose the time it took to equip the ship, time to travel to your 'final destination', and the money the ship & equipment cost, plus any thing you happened to have in the cargo hold. Hence the neglect of the uber/expensive weapons for sale but some do exist but only have a certain niche if the situation is right.
Not having the ability to fight? Um, the only way you cannot fight in VO is to sit in a station, find an empty sector, or refuse to fight. Fighting is very open and nearly anyone (at the moment) can engage you in fighting anywhere. There are duels to help counter the no-FF rule right now, but there are plenty of other targets that you can engage without a duel.
This doesn't mean you are always 100% vulnerable in space, capital systems and borders have defenses, while stand alone stations have guards. Of course the determined and adept can weasel their way past them if they are determined and equipped.
