They better get their act together now before more players quit.
As of right now keep getting disconnection after the patch.... they are more and more like FC to me... new problems after every patch....
So for expansion, better put on hold...
I disagree, they are nothing compared to FC...Mythic listens to what the player base wants based on feedback and they don't tell you one thing and do another, FC does not care about player feedback as much as Mythic.......I have no ideal why you are getting disconnects so frequently..I have had 1 at the most 2 disconnects since the patch, 1 was due to ISP going down...The other was prob server related crash...I think that WAR is a pretty stable game, better than most other MMO's released this year or prior to.
Do you think they'll release one, and if you do what do you think they'd put in it?
Mythic is in a state similar to AOC was back in July. If they announce they are working on an expansion now, it will just get a lot of players angry because it means they aren't putting their full resources into fixing the problems 'now'. Funcom/AOC announced an expansion back in July just as a PR move.. kinda a way of saying 'things are going according to plan, see, we are even working on an expansion'. Players took it the other way though and it was an overall negative.
AOC and Warhammer are very different though. AOC was an unfinished, incomplete and buggy game. It absolutely needed every programmer possible working on it. Warhammers problems aren't really bugs and unfinished content. Instead it is just bad design decisions, like endgame city seiges being 95% pve and the whole 'locking mechanism' of zones being badly designed and borked.
Do you think they'll release one, and if you do what do you think they'd put in it?
Yes they will. But not now, and probably not within 6 months. They will be busy working on stabilizing all the current problems they have to deal with now. The new year is about to bring brand new titles and if Mythic tried to release an expansion before those games come out, its blowing their wad way too early. Then the new MMOs release, Mythic will have nothing to counter them with. It's like WoW did with War; Warhammer releasing first gave WoW plenty of time to fine tune and release their expansion. Although I have heard MANY things said about WoTLK (boring, same stuff, easy, blah blah) one thing that has NOT been thrown around at all is "It's broken! It doesn't work right!" So no, no expansion within 6 months probably.
As to new classes.. I don't think they'd dare add any new ones until they can get the ones they released first nerf.. er.. fixed, THEN get the last two classes they just released nerf.. errr.. adjusted, THEN get the NEXT two that are spose to have been out released and .. you know. That is a LOT of balancing and who's got time to do all that and add content? No matter how big your company is, that is a Sigil-sized supermeal. They won't hit the KoTBS with the nerf bat until they get enough people at T4 already playing it at seiges so there's plenty of time for it to own. If they nerf it too early, it'll turn people off it. Right now, it's Mythic's only strong card that's keeping people from picking Destro and rolling WE's all over the place. (although you read that's starting to happen anyways).
I wouldn't look for Mythic to do anything in the next 6 months other than try and put a tourniquet on the sub losses, stabilize servers pops, and fix as much as they can, the in-game problems a portion of the people still complain about.
If they do that, they will be on their way to securing a solid place next to games like Guild Wars until something better comes out next year. But never the top spots. Just too many things on the horizon.
Mythic has an Expansion planned but it is delayed so they can work on the current state of the game with full force. Totally awsome sign that they know better than to split the team up at this stage in the game.

Although I don't know how it's a'totally awesome' sign that they know better when anyone else would just call it 'common sense'. Nothing special in recognizing you're not in as strong a position as you'd like to be and circle up the wagons. Thats just survival, no?
It's like Chris Rock said some people want credit for shit they are supposed to be doing in the first place. He said someone will say about raising their kids:
"I take care of my kids! I ain't never been to jail".
Rock:'You're supposed to, you dumb MF! What do you want, a cookie you low expectation MFer!"

Have you ever heard of Funcom?
Well after experiencing the AoC disaster I was extremely pleased when Mythic did this decision. Only after having played AoC at launch, would you know that even common sense is not a given.

They should call it UNcommon sense nowadays!
lol, this was funny. My last dealings with Funcom were many moons ago when Anarchy Online was a major mess. I got the wrong version (they sent me a EU version instead of NA) so my AoC copy wasn't worth anyting. I never even played that thing unfortunately (or fortunately).
I don't believe in giving people credit for stuff they should be doing in the first place, or say they would do. Maybe if something totally unforseen happened, thats about it.Kinda weird to operate as a customer that way.
But they are doing exactly as they should: shelve any expansion talk, fix the lag or whatever has people STILL coming on here about that, balance out classes if that needs it, whatever. Expansion when your main business is floundering isn't too smart in any business model.

I agree, but I only said I was extremely happy with it! I'm a `always hope for the best, but expect the worst` kinda guy
And yea you were fortunate. Seems like they're FINALLY giving the players some stuff they promised at launch (8months after launch). So yea FC is on a WHOLE different level.

Tell that to the AOC devs who have already annoucned and are working on an expansion to a game that has more holes in it then swiss cheese. While what seems like common sense to us and to some devs is NOT common sense to many devs as seen by the many explosions of problems caused in games by expansions when games are NOT ready for expansion. Star Wars was NOT ready for any of its expansions and yet they made them. EQ2 was NOT ready for its first expansion and yet it was focused on right away.
To me its a total awsome sign take my verbage or don't I really dont care. Gotta love differences in opinion I for one am glad they came out and said it instead of leaving it for us to all guess, worry, and speculate over since they DID talk about expansion ideas etc.
Releasing the cities would cause more problems then solve the population is already too thin...honestly if they do release the Cities I hope its as cycling events like 1 month its all about going after Altdorf and the Inevitable city...the next month its all about Dwarves vs Greenskins ... move the battlefield around a bit. Including them all and making them always available would make end game basically incompletable and really unenjoyable.
If the game had several million players I could see the reasoning to having all the cities in game al the time.
I also would like to see a couple of new races, since I believe at this time WAR might be happy sticking to a four-classes-per-race system. I was disappointed by the removal of the Skaven when Mythic took over the reigns, but happy to see them visible in the game. I've got a Skaven army sitting behind me, and they are squeeking to be released against my online enemies.
Skaven were never shelved they were NEVER apart of Mythic's design as a player class (atleast for launch) The other version of Warhammer Online has absolutely nothing to do at all with Mythic it was 100 percent another company's design but they were unable to pull it off and keep Games Workshop happy so everything they created went pretty much in the garbage.
Essentially there was NO removal. They were not planned as a starting Warhammer Race BUT if you look back at old articles etc you can see the Devs really wanted it but decided it was best to focus on the core fronts first with the skaven coming in as an expansion race.

Mythic had yearly releases on DAoC, as well as chucking in a fair bit of free stuff. Since they know players will nearly always part with some cash to access new classes and races, it goes without saying that they will have expansions planned.
For Destro it is clearly going to be a toss up between Vampire Counts and Skaven (I suspect that Skaven is in the lead though). However, I think it will be less clear what "armies" they would do for Order. Quite a few posters are pushing Lizardmen, but then there is Brittonian Knights (and Wood Elves are well like too).
As people say, Mythic will be playing their cards close to their chests, so it doesn't look like the not concentraiting 100% on current issues; also every company likes to drop in the big announcement near the time to get the "excitement" flowing
Jeff Hickman stated that they were already working on an expansion before WAR even came out. Skaven will be a new race, Josh Drescher has more or less confirmed it.

I really hope to see Skaven as a playable race in the first expansion *fingers crosses*
A Darkness Fall type dungeon would be awesome as well.
I hope they'll not increase the level cap.
